Chapter 1

It felt like the end. I mean, imagine your soul pouring out of your body and there’s absolutely no way to stop it. Well that’s what my heart feels like currently. Thanks to my two best friends, Connie and Bridget for taking my mind off a terrible heartbreak every now and then but I couldn’t get the image out of my head. Seeing her on top of him in the boys locker room took the life out of me. Six months fucking wasted. And I know what you’re saying...that’s not a long ti-

“CJ, get it together” Bridget nudged me and I came back down on earth only to see then new kid pushed the glass door of Rosie’s Diner, making the neon blue open sign slam slightly back on the glass door. His eyes were blue as the ocean and his hair was Prince Charming blonde. He looked like Prince Charming himself. I didn’t wanted to stare him down but it was hard not to. He was beautiful. He walked by our good looking table without even taking a glance at us. Nevertheless, we all whisper “who is he?” At the same time.

Connie was the slut in the group. Not literally but she always talked about what she wanted to do to every guy that walked by. She’s a beautiful ginger. She had pale white skin with small perky breast and naturally pink lips complimenting her jade green eyes. If I ever wanted to look like anyone, it would be here. Then there was Bridget, blonde with blue eyes. She always wore barely any makeup because she was naturally beautiful. But one thing she couldn’t go without was her eyelash extension. And of course there’s me, the only burnette babe in he group. My hair use to be very long but I chopped half of it and now it’s settling in the middle of my back. I have thick black eyebrows and eyelashes. My eyes are baby blue and my lips are slightly pink. We all gossip a little about the people in the diner like Mr. Rudolf, he’s always at the diner drinking his life away while his wife is as hope. Then there was Sunny. She a waitress here at Rosie’s. She was known for being abused by her stepdad who was also a police. She never talked much. I got up from the table and went to the music box to play a different record. I found Paul Anka and I played Put Your Hear on My Shoulder then grab Connie and Bridget to dance with me. They both got up and we started dancing slowly not having a care in the world. The worries were finally start to fade away. “Can I have a dance?” This crispy  voice came from behind me. I turned around and I was shocked. It wasn’t him. You know, MY Prince Charming. It’s was one of the guy that was sitting with him. I wanted to reject it. He wasn’t the one I wanted to dance with. Especially in front of the guy I wanted to dance with. I accepted anyway. It was just a dance. We slowly started dancing hand in hand and turn with every step we took. I look around the room to everyone stilling around and then our eyes met. Mine and his. He looked at me for a few hundred seconds, gave me a one-sided smile then look away. The night was getting older and the place was getting emptier. “So Scott, we never really talked.”  “I know, I’m doing a favor” “a favor? Are you serious” I pushed him away and walked out the diner. I could’ve heard him “hey, wait...” in the background but I never turned around. I headed to where my car parked and lean on the side to see Connie and Bridget at the door approaching me until he squeezed between both girls and came running to me. I was confused for a bit. “Hey, are you alright” his voice was hoarse and he sounds a bit southern. The kind that can make you become very nervous. “I’m fine, what do you want?” “That was my idea, I told him to dance with you because I couldn’t bring myself to ask you” “well how did that work for you? “I’m sorry, can we start over?” ‘Who the hell he think he is’ “I’m Jace” he said with his hands reaching it for a shake. He was really hot now that he was up close. “Alright, if you won’t shake my hand, can I at least buy you something to drink before the diner close?” I thought about it for a while. It’s just that, why would anyone pull something like that. Like I’m not worthy of more. I looked behind him to see that Connie and Bridget were no longer by the door. “Fine, frap” “frap it is” he said with that one sided smile.
