Raw Chemical Materials for ManufacturingDisinfectantsfrom BOC Sciences

Recently, BOC Sciences, a famous chemical and pharmaceutical raw material supplier, announced that it will provide the raw chemical materials for manufacturing disinfectantsto meet the huge demand from the customers all over the world during the COVID-19 epidemic.

The raw materials for disinfectants provided by BOC Sciences are as follows:

Carbomers (Carbopol 934, 940, 941, 980)

Carbomer , also known as carbopol, is chemically named cross-linked polyacrylic resin, or CP for short, which is a high-molecular polymer formed by cross-linking acrylic acid with propylene sucrose or propylene pentaerythritol. Carbomer is mainly used as a base for thickeners, suspending agents, adhesives, gels, and matrix materials for controlled-release preparations in pharmaceuticals. Carbomer is an excellent new medicinal adjuvant, which is widely used in the research and production of cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. It is also commonly used in various personal care products such as styling gels, facial moisturizers, sunscreens, shampoos, eye creams, cleansers and scrubs.

Benzethonium Chloride

Benzethonium chloride is a synthetic quaternary ammonium salt. It is an odorless white solid that is soluble in water. It can be used as a cationic surfactant, preservative and antibacterial agent. It is commonly used in toiletries such as soaps, mouthwashes, and antibacterial wet towels. Benzalkonium chloride has microbicidal activity against bacteria, fungi, mold and viruses, and is also used as a hard surface disinfectant in the food industry.

Benzalkonium Chloride

Benzalkonium chloride is a cationic surfactant and non-oxidizing fungicide, with broad-spectrum and high-efficiency bactericidal and algae-killing capabilities. It is mainly used as a preservative and antimicrobial agent. Benzalkonium chloride can be used in pharmaceutical products such as eye, ear or nose drops or sprays, personal care products such as hand sanitizers, toilet paper and wet tissue, skin disinfectants such as iodine.

Chlorhexidine Digluconate

Chlorhexidine digluconate is gluconate of chlorhexidine, a hydrochloride surfactant and antibacterial agent. It is used as a sedative in eye drops, deodorants and creams. Chlorhexidine digluconate is a biguanide fungicide and disinfectant, which has bacteriostatic or bactericidal effects on a variety of gram-negative and gram-positive plant bacteria, yeasts, skin fungi and lipophilic viruses.

Polyhexamethyleneguanidine (PHMG)

Polyhexamethyleneguanidine (PHMG ) is a guanidine derivative that is usually used as a fungicide in the form of polyhexamethyleneguanidine phosphate (PHMG-P) in its salt form. Studies have shown that PHMG in solution has bactericidal and bactericidal activity against both gram-positive bacteria and gram-negative bacteria. The substance also has the properties of detergent, preservative and flocculant, and prevents biological contamination.

Polyhexamethylenebiguanide (PHMB)

Polyhexamethyl biuanide (PHMB) is a polymer that can be used as a disinfectant and preservative. PHMB has antibacterial activity against pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, candida albicans, aspergillus brasilus, vancomycin-resistant enterococci and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
