Introduction

The young girl exclaimed in happiness. A doll, a doll from Halests. All the society girls and boys had them. Each was unique and beautiful, porcelain and customized. Halests had really outdone themselves this time, Taylor was gifted with the most beautiful one yet. The tiny, silver name tag informed Taylor that the dolls name was Violet.

Of course what Taylor didn’t know was that as the 10-year-old drifted off to bed with hopes of showing off the doll tomorrow, Violet was creeping off.

Though Taylor didn’t know it...

The doll was awake.

The Doll House

Violet waited for what felt like only a few seconds, after all she had the whole night, before Jennifer, Tyler, Caitlyn, Daniel and Mille arrived. Violet flexed her fingers, wiggled her toes and made faces. Being in her human body was a relief. Though she was made in a doll’s body, her human form was much more fun. She stretched and stalked over to meet the rest of her gang. Stepping especially close to Tyler. He looked at what she was wearing appreciatively. A black gown adorned her body, trimmed in gold and black lace. The others were all wearing similar gowns and finely cut suits, though the other dresses were more colorful. They walked down the street and toward the opera.

She crept back just in time for the dawn, and was instantly morphed back into her dolls body, already lying where Taylor had left her. Today was the Taylor was to show off her new doll. She paraded Violet around, going to tea parties and buying so many dresses from Halests it was a wonder she could carry everything. Taylor looked in wonder around the shop. Halests walls were covered in dresses and drawing of dolls. They were the most beautiful things Taylor had seen. She left Violet on the counter, along with Mr. Halest himself and left to study the walls in greater detail.

Violet, though trapped in her doll body, tried to make contact with her creator, her master, her torturer. She tried to move but her body was leaden. Her master knew what she would have wanted anyway and pinned a note to her neck, under her hair, hidden from view. She couldn’t wait until night fell and she could check what it said. She stared up at her master through her glass eyes and knew with a certainty that made her head hurt. He had hurt her and punished her and she knew that what he did was just for his own benefit and one day she would get him back.

That night as Violet’s body grew she tiptoed out of the house, she was to meet Tyler and Daniel at the abandoned warehouse that served as their base, it was Caitlyn, Jennifer and Millie’s night off. She was wearing a travelling coat that she had swiped from one of the many wardrobes in the manor house. Her boots were just a little too big and the beautiful midnight blue dress she was wearing was a little cold. She pulled the coat a little tighter and checked the note she had been given. This night’s targets were...

Farlet Screaner

Mechan Pertal

They were merchants and as such would be going again to the opera. Her thoughts were interrupted by Tyler.

“Hey, we were just wondering if you were lost. Whoa”

Violet had let go of her coat, showing off the stunning sleeveless dress. It was bejeweled and beautiful, she looked exactly like one of the rich would. She paraded into the warehouse, leaving the coat behind and allowed Tyler to take her arm. Her entrance was met with stares, from Daniel and from the spiders hidden in the corners. They went over their plan once more and then went to wreak havoc at the opera...

They slipped out of the opera, tailing the men who had left for a cigar. The thrum of adrenaline pounded through Violets veins...

The men turned to look. The last thing they saw was a beautifully dressed young lady before Tyler and Daniel each snapped one of their necks. They doused them in gasoline and then lit them on fire. They were mere silhouettes, walking slowly away. Always making big exits.

Violet stretched her neck and shoulders, they’d been tight from sitting still for so long. “They didn’t even put up a fight.” She grimaced at the smell, before finding that the boys themselves were something to grimace at. Their clothes were now rumpled, Daniel’s was slightly burnt from the man’s cigarette, and the ash clung. Violet herself looked as gorgeous as she had when she set out. She turned away, hearing the lightest, softest footfall behind her. The boys always followed. She stopped, they stopped, she turned, they drew their attention to her.

“We’ve still got a few hours to kill...” Violet glanced at the boy’s clothes.

“What shall we do, after you change, of course?” The boys traded glances, mischievous smiles slowly splitting their faces.

It was time to go to the party.

This party was the sort of party that was invite only, this was where the rich played. The dolls were regular attenders of the Charlotte family parties. ‘Dear friends’ are what the Charlotte’s called them. Honestly the Charlotte’s hated the dolls, who posed as the Lilan family, they only cared to call them friends because of their social status. The Lilan family were not only rich, but amazingly mannered, kind when needed and the worst enemy to come up against. The Lilan family was invited to every party, but only some were graced with their presence.

But a Charlotte party had promise, not only elegant but modern. The perfect party to turn into a brawl. Of course it would happen discreetly, no one would know that it was the Lilan family. The press would have a field day tomorrow.

They walked in, slow strides casting long shadows in the golden light. Instantly 3 servants rushed to their sides, taking their coats and leading them to the grand ballroom. Violet held onto the arms of the boys and glided in.

Silence followed by hushed murmurs, stares followed by averted glances greeted them as the doors opened. Of course, it was all in admiration. The Lilan family was prestigious and honored.

The music started up, lovely violins and harmonies. Violet was soon on the dance floor with Daniel parading in vicious swirls of fabric. Violet leaned in, close, but not too close. She rested her head against Daniel’s shoulder. The fabric of her clothes pressing against her, firm and cool against her hot skin. Daniel’s face showed no emotion, only his eyes yielding how much he enjoyed this.

Soon enough the song ended, and she peeled herself away. She drifted over to the ladies and started whispering horrible untruths into theirs ears. She knew that Tyler and Daniel were doing the same. In fact, she was certain as she heard the sounds of a punch being thrown. Soon enough all of the men were fighting. Sounds of yelling, flashes of ripped suits, the occasional whimper from the ladies. Violet put on a horrified face, she was only eighteen and was already being subjected to the violence of men! How horrifying...

The older ladies were soon pushing her behind them as she played the perfect part, a whimpering, worried young lady. Daniel and Tyler rushed over to her, playing perfect big brothers leading her out. Much to the satisfaction of the older ladies. The Charlotte’s would be in tears, their perfect party ruined. As the so called Lilan family walked out, no one noticed that they all wore smug smiles. As the sun came up, the dolls were gone, wisps of smoke on the pavement left behind, and dolls once more just where Taylor had left them.
