Life. That is a mischievously beautiful word. It is just as a novice pressing on the keys of the piano. So soft and smooth. Sometimes slow and silky but sometimes fast and hammering. Either way as the music glides freely through the air, one crucial blow to a key or just missing the next key in the sequence and you're done for. You're no longer relevant so you're thrown away remorselessly and life finds a new tune to play. A new symphony to torment. To destroy . To deface from history.

But sometimes the tune is completed without a single error. This is most times only rarely but the fact is it does happen and that makes us come to the conclusion that Death indeed should
be praised. Because death is like the nagging piano teacher forcing life to follow his orders and press the right keys. To play your tune unraveling the beauty of the mark you had left behind on the world .

That's what I want.

I want the opportunity to be remembered. Even when I die. Because when I die I'll be prepared . I will not get attached to anyone. I will keep my peace in everything I do. I will not pull down anyone with me.

Louder and more profound I felt every little stored energy I had flow through my finger tips and to the keys on the piano. The music filled me up and warmed my soul , wrapping me with sweet soft blankets of melodies. The shiny white tiled keys dipped freely with the pressure exerted from my pale navy blue painted fingertips. 'Dangerous' by David Guetta and Sam Martin was currently my favorite modern piece that was able to be played on both a violin and a piano.

It was beautiful. I could literally see the musical notes floating around the room in search of a wanderer. With my mind's eyes ofcourse. It continued to serenade me as I closed my eyes and swayed with the music . I didn't dare glance at my fingers once , knowing that if I did they would falter and the piece would've been ruined. The music lulled me away into semiconsciousness as I swayed across an empty barely lit ballroom with shiny polished cherry wood floors. I danced their alone in my normal attire for a ballet.

On the tips of my toes I moved swiftly across the room then I jumped confidently as I spun countless times in the air. I felt so majestic and free. I closed my eyes and awaited the contact between my feet and the floor.
"Dorothy! Turn off the lights! The dean is surveying the campus!" my eyes opened as I began to fall and my fingers came down with a harsh blow on to one of the keys and I took in a deep breath . I hurriedly got up and flicked the light switch then stood still in the darkness.

Then came reality . I'm no international pianist or world class ballerina. I'm a twenty-one year old college girl who has a half time job in a video game store. Now that was exquisite.

"So I heard you were playing Dangerous again last night." Clara said wavering her spoon in the air as she crunched the small frosted flakes she had put in her mouth. "It was two AM" I contradicted with a smug smile as I poured the milk into my bowl and she rolled her eyes with humor. "So. You were still playing it weren't you?" she said fighting a smile and I snorted. "I was. Until you kicked me out of heaven by yelling at me"I said through a grumble and she gasped feigning hurt.

"Yelled at you? I was just saving your talented ass from a lecture from Bob the Builder" she said in mock horror with a hand held to her chest. "Really?" I asked dramatically then added with my voice dripping with sarcasm "Oh my! How can I thank you? Should I polish your toes or make your bed?". "Seriously Dorothy" she said in a monotone as she stared at me with narrowed eyes then erupted into laughter.

She shook her blonde head in disbelief as she laughed and crinkles appeared at the corners of her eyes.

"You're an idiot." she said through laughter and I smiled at her as I said simply "Idiots are cool.". With that being said we ate our breakfast with little chat about who got caught last night. Clara and I hardly had anything to talk about when there wasn't any grande event or subject going around. So yeah we were friends. Just not very close friends.

By 10: 39 I was the last person coming out of the dorm so I had the opportunity to hide the keys. So I hid it under the mat ofcourse . It would be challenging for them because they would be trying to search the most unlikely place. Which is their wrong because I never gave them a reason to search anywhere else. Then again I was a very difficult person.

I made my way to the school halls around 10:50 because it was a ten minute walk but the rest of the day was a blur because that's what school was. A constant blur that no one remembers but in the long run the memory comes back. And it pays. It pays a lot to have all the information that we thought had vanished return because with it every little situation begins to form the slightest bit of sense.

I hardly see any of the people from my dorm for the entire three periods I had to go through except for John. I saw him leaning in the corner with his head leant against the wall and his mouth open making tunes without melody. That's what we called his snoring. I sat there trying to find the rhythms in his snoring but there was absolutely nothing melodious about so ofcourse I had to stop it. I balled up a blank sheet in my hand and angled my hand in the air.

Maybe if I aimed it a little bit higher I could just...ahh. Right in the pie hole . A few of the people who saw what I had did struggled to control their laughter as John's snores went muffled. "...and that's how you solve the algorithm " Professor Willis had said and they all bursted out into laughter. I fought back mine. He was so onpoint with whatever he was teaching and what had just happened.

Somehow when he turned around he was able to turn around and single out me as the troublemaker. "Dorothy" he said staring at me piercingly with his light grey eyes and I leant forward in chair and pursued my lips and clicked my pen. I said "You're welcome" with a smug smile causing laughter to erupt within the classroom.

After mindlessly scrolling through the list of new arrivals for the umpteenth time I settled on playing solitaire on my phone . Soon as I began to get lost in the game I heard the doorbells chime and the casual chatter of a group of teenagers . I closed my phone and turned it face down as I looked up to the new customers. They were all boys. Four of them. I had seen some of their faces before because they had shopped here before . There was the one with black short cropped hair complimenting his quite short height. At 5'5 even I was taller than him but he was older ofcourse.

He seemed to be of Hispanic descent. You could hear it in his constant babble too. His name was Rudy. I remembered that easily since he had it tattooed on his right arm. Then there was the blonde one who on the other one was quite tall at approximately 6'2 height and had a very skinny body frame. I remembered that due to my curiosity one day I asked him how tall he was. Even now I can't believe his answer but whatever floats his boat. He said he was six feet and five inches. Pretty tall for a sixteen year old. Yeah sixteen . I didn't know his real name but he went by the name Squidy.

God knows why.

Then there was Kevin. The other blonde who never seemed to surprise me with the different contacts he wore everyday. Sometimes I really did wander what was his real eye color. Today he had in red. He was probably at a moderate height of 5'11 ft . Kevin was the quietest in the group. He never spoke to me nor to the boys when they were in the store but he did spare me smiles and waves when he was coming in or leaving.

"I'm telling you . It arrived here today I literally got my ass numbed off to personally check it " Squidy scoffed as Rudy made a mad dash through one of the aisles. I got up with a sigh off of my stool as I moved towards them to offer my help ."Well where is it?" the other male I had failed to acknowledge said monotonously as he dipped his hands into his pockets and closed the door behind him. My breath hitched in my throat as I looked at him. Right. Now there's only rare moments in my life that I stop just to appreciate the appearance of something.

Like my cat I got for my sixth birthday. Scare 'em. A black cat with big orange patches of fur coating him and bright golden eyes. Now that was something incredible. With everyday I live I learn that there are many more majestic things in the world than Scare 'em . He was an example. He was tall. Six feet I'd say , or probably more .His brunette hair was styled up in a quiff. Just a modern hairstyle but yet it intrigued me and captured me in every way possible.

He looked like he had just walked out of a magazine with the most defined jawline I'd ever stumbled upon. His nose was straight and pointy and he had a light shade of pink on his full lips. His eyes were hidden by a pair of dark sunglasses but they weren't completely hidden. I could still see the outline. Black earrings decorated his earlobes and contrasted against his pale skin. He wasn't really pale....but he was pale.

"Hey Dorothy. Sorry I never saw you there" Squidy apologized and I bit back a smile as I said meekly " It's okay. Things happen to the best of us". He smiled at me as so did Kevin with an awkward wave. I waved back. "Okay. Now let's get down to business Dorothy. This creep here is my cousin Casper. Casper this is my super talented pretty female gamer friend slash hero Dorothy. Dorothy Casper. Casper. Dorothy. And no not 'Dorthy'. It's Dorothy as in D-O-R-O-T-H-Y. If you mess up her name she'll de-ball you and probably erase your existence from our era. Got it. Good. Now shake hands or something" Squidy explained dramatically and I bit down on my lip fighting back the growing smile.

The stranger,Casper, though wasn't really winning the battle and settled to a half smile as he reached a hand towards me and said casually "Hey". I pulled my right hand away from the nervous pantomime it was performing with my left hand and shook hands with him. "Hi" I said shyly feeling the color raise to the pigment of my cheeks. Casper. It had an odd ring to it. It was an odd name but it was simply...perfect. Not wanting him or the others to give much thought to the seemingly drawn out contact I retracted my hand politely and smiled at him. He did the same.

"Where is it?!"Rudy bellowed in a cry and a a scowl took over Squidy's face as he looked down the aisle and said bitterly "You're in the wrong aisle dufus. That one is for pre-teens". "Oh right. Your age group right?" Rudy said back bitterly and I fought back my laughter. They're getting there hormones all in a rack just because of a game. Wow.

"Not just a game Dorothy Smith. It is Five Nights at Freddy's Two with a bonus level including no electricity at all." Rudy defended from whichever aisle he was at and I furrowed my eyebrows. I never knew I spoke my thought out aloud. "Well without the electricity doesn't that defeat the purpose of the game. Without the electricity how would you know where to find the stupid bear and when to protect yourself?"I stated and jumped when the sound of a loud air horn filled the room and we all turned to look at Squidy.

"ERRRR! Wrong . That my dear friend is the sole reason why we need this game. To protect ourselves from the unknown and maneuver through the dark while keeping our body parts intact." Squidy explained and I raised an eyebrow at him. "Wait.... no offense but how the hell do you know Five Nights at Freddy's?" Casper asked with his question directed to me and I opened my mouth to answer him but Squidy beat me to it. "What part of 'super talented pretty female gamer friend slash hero' don't you understand? Ofcourse she would know you peasant!".

He frowned a bit and quietly Kevin chuckled in whatever corner he was in. "Don't you feel dumb" Rudy said in a taunting tone and Casper turned to stare at him but I'm pretty sure he was glaring. Who knows. He's probably even sleeping. No one can tell with those sunglasses . I tried not to laugh but ended up giggling . "Where the hell is Kevin?" Rudy mumbled walking out of a aisle empty handed as he began to scratch the back of his neck. Soon we are all acquainted with the sound of a short whistle and turned to look for the source.

Kevin stood by the counter with a smug smile as he held a disc case with the words Five Nights at Freddy's on it and a quite ugly bear. Without hesitation they all sprinted towards him bombarding him with questions and jumbled sentences.

"Where did you find it?!"

"It lives! I thought it was a myth!"

"Tell me where they are or I'll slit your throat"

" Speak you Alien! Where the hell did you find the loot!"

After a while of many many...... many yells he finally held up his hand silencing them and they watched him like monks waiting for a Guru to bestow knowledge onto them. Slowly he pointed his hand to the small rack of games identical to the one in his hand that they had failed to recognize and I folded my arms on my chest with a smug smile as I watched them push and pull each other to get one for themselves. And to think that there were more than fifty there.

I shook my head with a smile then moved back behind the counter as I continued to watch them fuss with each other .

Boys will be boys.
