My Poetry

Swiftly

She runs so swiftly,

She runs so fast.

She runs so happily in a blast.

She runs so swiftly,

She runs with speed.

She runs so swiftly,

Without a need.

You cannot stop her,

She runs so fast.

You cannot stop her,

She can’t be last.

She runs with speed,

Without heed.

Divided

We live in divided worlds,

I cannot see her.

Oh, how I wish I could see her beautiful curls,

I cannot either.

I’m an ocean dweller,

She’s human.

My family doesn’t like her,

Because of her ancestors’ sins.

But she didn’t do anything wrong,

It’s not her fault.

Hopefully, this war won’t be long,

Someone please put this evil to a halt.

One day this discrimination will end,

One day I’ll be with my friend.

Poison

I was in a poisonous friendship,

She made me feel bad.

But I still loved her,

Even though I felt miserable.

My friends and family knew,

They knew what she did to me.

They told me to leave her,

But I never listened.

They asked things like…

“Why don’t you leave?”

“Why do you stay?”

But I just ignored them, they wouldn't understand.

Until one day I stood up for myself,

And I left…

It was hard,

But I did it…

I did it…
