Chapter 1

The annoying repetitive sounds of my alarm shot through my sleep and brought me back into the world of light.  Sitting up I waited for my eyes to adjust to the light before wandering into my closet.  Once they did I tiredly threw my sheets to the side and trudged over to my closet. Sliding open a single door I snatched up my outfit  that hung not so neatly on the hanger.  Opening the bathroom door I got ready. Coming out several minutes later I was ready. My make up was done. My nearly white hair thrown up in a ponytail and my simple black skater dress with knee high socks put on.

By the time this was done it was six forty five. running down my stairs I swung into my empty and quiet kitchen. All of the lights were off. I lived alone.  At the age of ten my parents went out. Only to never come back and be confined to their graves in the earth below. I lived with my aunt for awhile, but the moment I turned sixteen I asked for a place of my own. She was reluctant at first, but after some begging she said yes. I’m now seventeen and began my senior year just a few months ago. I’m happy where I am. I have friends, great ones at that. I like my classes and teachers. So there’s nothing to complain about. Besides the fact that I wish my parents were here.

Making my way to the door I grabbed my bag that laid on a hook. I opened the door. The smell of fresh morning air hit me.  It was a rather gloomy day. Clouds covered the sun, making for a gray overcast. The air also felt strange. I couldn't place my finger on it, but there was something off about it. Shrugging it off I got into my car and drove to school.

I got to school with about five minutes to spare. With that time I said hello to my friends. I should probably tell you about them. First us Nicole. She's tall, a little curvy, and has curly brown hair. Her eyes are a beautiful green. She's caring, funny, spastic and definitely weird. She likes most of the things I do, so that includes rock, although she does listen to Indie. She is currently single, so boys get on it.

Next is Bliss, she's short, has short brownish blonde hair, Hazel eyes and a personality bigger than her little body can handle sometimes. She's very energetic, hyper, sweet, and also weird. She's into punk and rock. Defiantly into the laid back punk look. She's currently single well kinda, she's into a guy but things are far from official.

Lastly, but not least is Jasper. He has dirty blond hair, blue eyes and is tall and skinny. Kinda every girls dream. Too bad he's not into them. So sorry ladies, but guys come and get it. He likes the outdoors, camping, hiking those kinds of activities. He likes jazz and soothing music. He's once again weird, and loves to tease us. Which is ok because it makes for good times. I love all of my friends and are grateful for them.

When I reached them we exchanged waves and hi's and then began to talk about random topics. That lasted until the bell rang and we went our separate ways. My first period is Japaneses, which is a great way to start the day in my opinion. Classes went a normal. Somewhere fun, somewhere boring others where eh. So a normal day.  Lunch was fun, again like normal.

When the final bell rang I walked to our meeting place, where Jasper and Bliss were already waiting. Smiling I walked to them and we chatted about our plans for after school and our classes that we had just come out of. Soon Nicole joined our group.

"Hey." Nicole nudged my arm. "You have a watcher."

"What" I asked her. She motioned to a group of guys standing near a table. Well they weren't all standing some of them were sitting.  Though the guy that was staring at me was. The group of guys he stood where the kinda bad boys. They didn't smoke, do drugs, get suspended or anything like that. That we know of anyways. Most of them are good students, getting good grades and doing well over all. However their appearances say that they don't. They're all into the rough, tough and punk look. Most of them have piercings and some sport tattoos.

They guy who had his eyes on me had chocolate brown hair and wore a black leather jacket with a red V-neck and dark wash jeans. His eyes however were his most stand out feature. They were golden. No not like a Hazel, greenish yellow.  There were golden.  Not only that but they had a familiar warmth to them. His name was Cameron if I recall correctly.

Jasper booty bumped me."Oooh someone's got a secret admirer."

"Nooo I don't." I booty bumped him back. "Now I have to get home." I walked away as I waved to them. Out in the parking lot kids were out and about chatting and getting into their cars. I waved to a few kids I knew and hopped in my black sports car. It took awhile to get out if the parking lot, due to all the new student divers and stupid ones too. When I finally got out, I blasted whatever crappy pop music was on the radio and sped down the roads.

On my way home I needed to stop by the store and pick up a few items. One of those things may or may not be a Starbucks, but hey a girl needs her coffee. I got my gingerbread latte, from a rather cute Barista, and started shopping.  As I was collecting my last items I felt a strange presences. I again shook it off and went to check out. As I was loading my groceries into my car something in the alley way caught my eye. I turned and saw a black figure standing there. I couldn't make out what it was exactly but it was definitely visible. I looked around, it was strange, no else seemed to notice. Curious I walked towards it. The thing lowered it's head and backed up further into the alleyway.

Curiosity had taken over and I continued to follow it. I heard a deep growl come from the shadows. I stopped. The growl wasn't normal, it was distorted to an extent. I took another stepped forward and it growled again. Stepping from the shadows it barred it's teeth.  The creature was like something from a nightmare. Its eyes where blood red. It stood tall and lean, almost like a Great Dane. However not quite, considering it had two heads! My body felt paralyzed as I looked at the creature. I closed my eyes tightly a few times to see if I was dreaming, but the results ended in nothing. I was still in a alleyway with this thing.  Its red eyes looked at me up and down. Then it suddenly relaxed. It perked its head and and started to whine. Not like a scared whine, but the whine dogs do when they want attention or are happy to see you. Its tail started to wag as It slowly made its way to me. At first I was hesitant, then it looked up at me with those puppy dog eyes and I couldn't resist.

It's whole mood changed as I began to pet it chest and heads. It's tail was going a thousand miles an hour at one point.

"Just what are you?" I found myself whispering. The creature cocked its head.

"Why I'm a hell hound of course." A childish girl voice answered. I stopped petting the thing. It sounded as if the voice had come from it. , but it couldn't talk. Could it?

"It's OK no one  can hear our voices if you talk to me. " the self proclaimed hell hound sat down. "I'm Vinna by the way."

"Hello...Vinna. I'm Lana. Can anyone else see you?"

"No, only you and maybe a few others, but their not here at the moment."

"How and why can I see you?"

"You're special. I don't know how, but you are." There was a loud car alarm near by.

Vinna became skittish once again. Tucking her tail and lowering her head. "I have to go. I can't risk being seen." She looked at me with her red eyes. "Maybe I'll see you again?"

"I'd like that." I patted her head once more before she simply vanished into the shadows. Not leaving a single trace.  I stood up walking to my car. I was glad no one noticed me Coming out of dark and damp alley way.  Getting into my car I slammed my head against the seat.  Did I really just have a conversation with a hell hound? I’m crazy. I’m absolutely crazy. Turning on the car I blaired the radio. Hoping to forget the whole ideal. Backing out of the parking lot I drove home.

Everything that happened was still in my mind, but I managed to push it to the back of my mind. As I did my homework and chores I kept telling myself that I wasn't crazy from time to time. Though it didn't bother me too much. I took a shower and did my regular routine. Which consisted of Netflix, food and texting Nicole for hours. As I was shutting down my computer for the night I heard a strange noise outside. My heart skipped a beat. I waited on my bed, still as ever. It echoed once again. It sounded like a young girls scream mixed with a moan. My mind of course went to a million different places. Tiptoeing across my room I grabbed one of the display Katana’s my dad had left me and held it tight. As I crept down the stairs and into the kitchen I checked each corner. Each of them being completely normal. I knew the noise was coming from outside, but I needed to check for my own comfort.  When I got to the sliding glass door placed behind the living room my heart began to race.

The noise was clearer and definitely closer. I gripped my Katana with white knuckles as i slid the glass door open. The cold night air breezed its way past me. Sending chills through my body. Taking a deep breath I slipped outside. It was still outside, except for the slightly swaying branches. I let my eyes adjust to the  darkness. Even though the moon was bigger than usual in the blue sky, it still shed little on the land.

I jolted as I heard the little girls screams from only a few feet ahead of me. Tiny footsteps followed. My heart again sped up, so much so it almost felt as if it would beat right out of my chest. The little girl stepped into a beam of light. Showing off her dead like features. Her cheeks were hollowed and everything seemed to be sunken in. Making a perfect outline for her bones. Her clothes were tattered and ripped. Some spots had what looked like blood patches, The it was hard to tell with how faded the color was. She looked like something that stepped out of The Walking Dead. Without the exposed bone, muscle and open wounds however. I tensed as she stepped forward. Her head lifted or more like snapped up. Her eyes were gray and had a filmy glaze to them. She stared directly at me. Her gaze like ice. Then she waved.

She smiled and waved as if she was normal and I knew her. Then went on her way. What the hell is going on?!

Chapter 2

It's safe to say I didn't get any sleep last night. Although I'm not completely sure. I think there were a few times I dozed off for a few minutes, but that doesn't really count as asleeping. When six o'clock came around I dragged myself from my bed and my all night Dance Moms marathon. Don't judge. I decided that since I had the time I would take a quick shower. It felt super good, I was aloud to collect all my thoughts from the night. I came to three conclusions.  One, I'm crazy. I've just fallen off the deep end. Two, I'm in a comma and this is just some weird dream. Three this is actually real and someone's going to come and say You’re a Something Lana. So those are my options. In my mind anyways.

Stepping out of the shower I grabbed the golden bracelet with the Sapphire  gem from the counter. I’ve had this bracelet ever since I can remember. I never go a day without wearing it. Before putting it on I looked at the blue gem.The way it seemed to shine and how it contrasted beautifully against the gold. Slipping it on my wrist, as the golden metal touched my skin an odd burning sensation wrapped itself around my wrist. It was small and subtle but still irritating. I chose to ignore it, thinking my wrist was just irritated by something else.  Stepping into my closet I started the decision on what I should wear today.  I decided to go with a black top with cut out shoulders that had a lace skull on the front. Dark wash jeans and these slightly heeled booties. I did my hair in a nice high ponytail, like almost everyday, and did a simple neutral smokey eye.

By then it was about six forty five. So I decided to do something nice. Grabbing my bag from the edge of my bed I got into my car and drove to the nearest Dutch Bro’s.  I ended up buying four drinks. One for me and the other three for Jasper, Nicole and Bliss. When I got to the school only Jasper was there as usual. He usually arrived before any of us. I handed him his coffee and he made a strange noise. Typical. Him and I talked for a bit and as we did I noticed that my wrist had become itchy. I tried to not scratch but I couldn't help it.

“You ok?” Jasper asked when he noticed me scratching my wrist.

“Yes I’m fine. Just itches is all.” I told him.

`    Soon after that Bliss came and I gave her a coffee just as I did Jasper.

“Awe Thank you! Whats the occasion?” Bliss asked as she joyfully sipped on her coffee.

“Just had some extra time and decided why not.” I smiled.

    “And where’s mine bitc-”

I cut Nicole off by shoving a coffee in her face. She smiled.

“You know I love you right?”

“Yes I know.” I said with a giggle. The four of us then chatted until the bell rang. During third period my wrist started to bleed of all things. So I got a bandage and that was that. I didn't bother to look at it anymore. When lunch came around I was starving. I didn't eat much last night.  So I went and convinced the other three to go out to lunch. As we walked out the front doors I caught a glimpse Cameron. He oddly smiled and I smiled back out of kindness. of We decided to go to McDonald's. What can I say its cheap. We pulled up to the school once again and decided just to eat outside.

“Hey what's the bandage for?” Nicole asked.

“Oh.” I looked down at my wrist. Taking the edge of the bandage I ripped it off, Expecting scratches from my excessive itching but no.  That wasn't the case.

“What the actual hell!!!” Nicole screamed as she grabbed my wrist. Yanking me forward she moved mt bracelet.

“The hell?!” Bliss added as she got a glimpse of my wrist.

“That's awesome!” Jasper said once he got a look at it too. Imprinted on my wrist, in what seemed like black ink was a small hourglass. With a small scythe inside. No doubt it was a tattoo, but where the hell did it come from?I know for a fact it wasn't there during third. So how the hell did it get there?!

“When the hell did you get this? And why didn't you tell me?!” Nicole started interrogating. “I mean its freaking awesome don't get me wrong. But I want answers.” I had no idea how I was suppose to respond. I didn't even know when I got it or how.

‘I Uh asked my uncle for an early Christmas present.” I began lying. “So he set me up with one of his buddies and I got it.”

“Well he did an amazing job it looks great!” Jasper butted in before Nicole could say anything thing. I couldn't help but smile when I saw the look she gave him.

“Ya! Where did you get this design from? What happened to the Tiger?” Bliss asked ignoring the other two.

“I really don't know. It just came to mind and I liked it so I went with it.” The suddenly rang, signaling the end of lunch. Nicole looked at me sharply.

“I want you to tell me why you didn't feel the need to tell me about this during sixth.”

“OK. I will I promise.” With that we went our separate ways to our classes. Which for me was math. ew. I sat down in my regular seat. I didn't really have any friends in that class. That was ok though, I never had friends in my past four math classes over the years. So I was use to it.

I was doodling on my notebook as usual when out of the corner of my eye I saw someone sit next to me. I looked up to golden eyes. That's odd. He usually sits with his gang.

    “Hey” Cameron said casually.

“Uh hi.” I tried to say as casually as he did.

“Lana right?” I watched as his eyes moved down to my wrist. “Nice tattoo.”

I shifted, making so the tattoo was no longer visible. “Uh thanks. but uh I have to ask.”

    “Yes?”

“Why are you sitting here and not with your crew.”

    “I don't know there’s something about you.”

Weird. Even so I found myself blushing.

“Why?” He asked. “Do you not like me here?”

“No its not that. I was just curious is all.” The bell rang and we both focused on the teacher. After his little lecture we were given an assignment. I took that time to text the three musketeers.

Me: Hey wanna go 2 the cafe after school?

Bliss: Ya! Sounds great I could always use a Coffee.

      Jasper:Sure

      Nicole: OK, But what 4?

       Me: Gossip.

    Nicole: OK I’m definitely in.

Jasper: This should be good ;)

    Bliss: Agreed.

I set down my phone and went to work so I wouldn't get in trouble. A few times I  swore Cameron was staring at me. Soon I just plugged in my headphones and listened to my music as I worked.  I looked to the clock a while later and saw class was almost over. I paused my music and started to pack up. Feeling a tap on the shoulder I looked up to see Cameron standing somewhat over me.

“Nice music choice.” Was all he said before the bell rang and he walked away with his friends.

The next two periods went by quickly, thank god. During sixth I told Nicole I was gonna surprise everyone with the tattoo once it was all healed. Once the final bell rang I hurried to our meeting spot. Eager to get to the cafe and tell them about Cameron. About five minutes later we were heading out the doors to the cafe. After everyone had gotten their drinks, I got a strawberry smoothie, we took a seat at one of the corner tables.

“So whats the subject of this gossip you want to tell?” Jasper asked as he stirred his smoothie.

I took a deep breath. “Cameron.”

Nicole banged on the table. “I fricken called it!”

Bliss cupped her chin in her hands. “So what about him? Huh?”

I proceeded to tell them everything that happened in math.

“Ooooooo that does sound interesting.” Nicole sang as she pressed her shoulder into me.

“It does. Are you thinking of-”

“No” I cut Bliss off. She pouted and so did the other two.

“But why not?” Jasper asked. “He’s a total Hottie.”

“I don't know.” I replied truthfully. He raised an eyebrow the looked down at his phone. As he looked back up a minute later both Nicole and Bliss looked down at their phones. I knew something was going on between them.

“What are you guys planning?” I asked.

“Oh nothing.” Bliss chirped.

“Oh that’s BS. You guys need to work on hiding your expressions.”

I heard Nicole scuff. “Like you’re any better.”

I went to reply but Jasper bet me to it. “So completely off subject I have a surprise.”

Nicole looked at him sharply. “Do tell.”

“I may or may not have gotten access to Holocene.”

We all basically jumped from our seats.

“You did what?” Bliss practically shouted.

“You heard me doll. So I saw this weekend we do a little partying.”

“Hell yes!” Nicole said with excitement. “It gives me a great excuse to doll these two up.”

“Um Ya I don't know about this” I said honestly

Three heads snapped in my direction.

“You are going weather you like it or not.” Nicole demanded.

I looked at the three pairs of eyes staring at me. “Ok fine.”

The rest of the time we spent planning Saturday and joking around.  When It hit about four thirty we decided to head home.  Getting home I looked into the mirror studying the tattoo. Trying to figure out where it had come from and why?  I decided that I would stop wearing the bracelet. So I put it in one of the pockets of my backpack. So it would be with me, but I didn't have to wear it.  Going to my bed I decided to lay down and wrap my head around things.

I was awoken by the sudden ring of my phone. I looked at my clock to see that It was 1 am. Well I guess that's what i get for staying up all night. I tiredly searched for my phone wondering who the hell was calling me at this time. Finding my phone in a mess of blankets I looked at the unfamiliar number, but answered it anyways.

“Hello?” I asked grouchily.

“Stay where you are. Don't move or go anywhere. You’re in danger.”

What? “Uh. I think you have the wrong number.”

“Believe me I don't look just-”  I hung up the phone before the mystery boy could continue.

Well that was weird

I stood up and turned on some lights. I walked into the bathroom and  put my hair up in a messy bun. I heard my stomach rumble and it was also then when I felt a dryness in my throat. So I started heading down the stairs. All of the lights were off. Strange. When I got to the last step I didn't bother to turn on the light I just thought I’d just turn the kitchen one in. I rounded the corner into the kitchen Hearing a strange noise behind me I turned around. A fierce pain hit as something punched me in the face. The impacted caused me to fall, my head slammed against the tile floor. I tried to shake off the pain and dizziness. The lights suddenly switched on and I looked up to men. They had simple white masks on, with no detail whatsoever. I attempted to stand but the intruder kicked me back down.

“What...do you want?”

“Oh nothing much.” One of the other intruders said. His voice was weird and distorted. Almost as if he were underwater. “We just want to make sure you don't plan on messing with masters plans.”

“Master?...Plans? What are you talking about?” The same intruder that had punched me kicked me.

“Don't act like you don't know.”

“I…” The effects of slamming my head was catching up to me. The dizziness came back and my vision became blurred. I heard another pair of footsteps. Then I heard what sounded like fighting? The last thing I remember hearing was a voice call my name. Then I completely blacked out.

Chapter 3

I woke up I not knowing how much later it was, but It was semi- light outside. I went to sit up, but was greeted with a sharp pain. I began to question it. Then the memories of the attack came flooding back.Who where they? What did they want? Who saved me. These questioned followed the memory. Even though it hurt I stood up and went to the bathroom. My head was killing me and I wanted to see what damage had occurred. When I saw my reflection I was not happy. A huge and nasty bruise circled around my left eye. It seemed to end right around where my cheekbone started. I Lifted my shirt to see bruising along the left side of my chest and abdomen. Ok so that will be easy to hide, but how am I suppose to hide this massive black eye?! I sighed heavily but then immediately winced in pain.

I left the bathroom now more focused on the time. It was around six thirty. Ok so i still had time to get ready and get to school on time. I went to my closest and picked out a black leggings and an over sized Gray T-shirt. Going back into the bathroom I packed on as much concealer and foundation as I could on the nasty bruise. Nothing seemed to help though. I eventually gave up and threw my hair into a really messing bun. Slipped on my combat boots and headed out the door.

On my way to school I thought of what lie I could conjure up to explain the massive black eye. I finally decided to got with I was in the park and some kids were playing basketball and I was unfortunate enough to get hit with it.

When I pulled up to the school I checked the bruise once again just to see if it possibly faded. No luck. Grabbing my bag from the passengers seat I got out. Entering the front door I planned on heading right to my friends.

“Hey Lana.” I heard someone call my name. I turned to see Cameron leaning against a wall.

“Uh Sure?” I replied changing my direction to follow him. He lead my to one of the open practice rooms.

“So how are you doing?” He asked once the door was closed.

“Good excepted for this.” I pointed to my eye. “You’re probably wonder-

“I know how you got it.”

I looked at him confused. “You do?”

“Yes, thats why I asked how you’re doing.”

    “How do you…”

    “You know Alex right?”

“Ya he lives in my neighborhood.”

“He told me what happened. How you were attack by the…” He stopped suddenly as if he were about to call them but then decided it wasn't a good idea.  “...the masked men. He told me that when he got there you were unconscious. So he carried you to your bedroom and treated your injuries.”

"And exactly what injuries to I have?”

“The black eye obviously. A few cracked ribs and a slight concussion.”

My mind went to how Alex Determined these things. The thought made my blush so I focused on something else.

“I’m sorry” Cameron said out of the blue. “We didn't expect you to be dragged into this so soon and quickly.”

    “Dragged into what?”

“Its best if I explain later. Somewhere that's not at school. For now you should really be at home resting.” He moved towards me, but I backed away. I have to admit there was a part of my that wouldn't mind his touch. There was something oddly comforting and warming about him. Though there was also apart of me that was on edge about him. That side won the battle this time.

“Thanks for the concern, but I can take care of myself.” I left with that comment heading to my friends. Bad idea. The all jumped to their feet and hounded my on my black eye and what happened. I told then the story I had thought up and good thing they seemed to believe me.

When second period hit I was done.My head and ribs where killing me so I decided to go with Cameron s advice after all.

When I got home I decided to call my uncle, who was a doctor, and get some advice on these broken ribs. He told me not to do too much bed rest. Get up and move, but nothing that will cause too much pain. He also told me that I should stop by so I could explain and so he could do a check up.  I have to admit I whined a little after the phone call. As much as I loved my aunt and uncle they kinda annoyed me. They were all upper class and high and mighty. I could see why my cousin got out as soon as she could. So I packed up an overnight bag. Simplify because I knew they would force me to stay. So I wouldn't fight this time and I would do as they wished. It was about a half an hour drive from my house. So on the way I picked up Panda Express. Though it was a little difficult to eat in the car. I stopped a block away to scarf the rest of it.

I pulled up to the grand house. Driving around the marble fountain I parked up front.  My Aunt was a successful therapist and my uncle a successful doctor. That resulted in living the rich way. A girl in a simple black dress greeted me and took my bags as I entered.

“Oh Lana dear! Its so good to see you.” My Aunt julia greeted.

“Yes its so nice to see you too.” I winced as she hugged me with a death grip.

“Oh I’m so sorry” She said once she realized I was hurting. “Your Uncle's this way.”

I followed her down a hallway with paintings framed with gold and tables with expensive vases filled with roses and other assorted flowers. We entered a room with double glass doors, a dark oak desk and other expensive decor spread throughout the room. At the desk was a man in his mid looking at some X-rays. He wore a silver vest and white shirt.

“Frederick dear Lana is here.”My aunt told him as we entered the room.

“Oh yes. Come here and I’ll check you out.” He motioned me.

I did as he said. He gave me a quick hug and then had me sit on the table in the back corner.  He then began the examination.

“How exactly did this happen dear?” My aunt asked from the doorway.

    Crap. “I crashed my bike.”

“Well that must have  been one heck of a crash. You a two cracked ribs a slight concussion.”

“Ya. My bike is pretty much un-fixable.”

“Well” My aunt sighed. “Why don't you get cleaned up for dinner. The Wilford's are coming over and I want you to look nice.”

“Ugh really?” I mumbled underneath my breath.

    “What was that?”

“Nothing. I’ll be up in my room.” I jumped off the table and ran up the stairs. My room was on the top floor. It was grand to say the least. It was painted maroon with gold trimmings along the whole room. In the middle was a king size bed, with silk black covers and a huge flat screen hanging in front of it.  On the right there was a glass door that lead to a marble balcony that overlooked the courtyard.  I had my own separate bathroom and a walk in closet. The whole works and although it was nice I still preferred my own apartment. I did as my aunt said and cleaned up and around six thirty the Wilford's came.

We all gathered in the dining room. On the menu tonight was crab cakes. One of my favorites. For the first half of dinner I simply listened to their conversations of patients and the latest gossip among the country club.

“Lana dear are you sure you’re alright?” My aunt asked out of nowhere.

    Yes, I’m perfectly fine. Why?”

    “I’m just worried is all.”

“Please don't start this again.” I said under my breath. She did this every time I visited.

“I know the death of your parents had its toll on you. Then you moved out at such an early age. It must be hard with Prom, looking for colleges and other important events coming up. Without parents it must linger in your mind quite often. Why dont you came see me at the office and we’ll talk-”

I stood up from the table abruptly. I was done. “I think I’ll be excused now. Thank you for dinner.” Swiftly turning I went up to me room and luckily fell asleep. That got me out of anymore conversations.

The next morning I headed home and as my uncle requested stayed home for the remainder of the week. When saturday came I didn't care what anyone said I was going to go out with my friends. To be honest I kinda needed it. It would help get my mind off somethings. So around six thirty Jasper, Nicole and Bliss all come over. We talked for a little, ate some pizza then we got to work dolling ourselves out. Nicole and Bliss were set on doing my makeup, hair and outfit so I let them without a complaint. Thank god my black eye had faded so they could hide it easily with concealer.  I sat down In my vanity chair and the the two girls get to work.

I looked in the full body mirror. Bliss and Nicole sure did their thing.  I was now dressed for the night life. Or as a working girl, I wasn't quite sure. I wore a tight, deep purple body con dress that barely covered my butt. But it did so I can't complain. There were jewels starting at the sweetheart neckline and that covered the very thin straps of the dress. My hair was straightened and slightly teased in the back. Nicole worked her magic with my makeup giving me a nice smokey eye with a dark berry lip. All paired with black heels completely covered in glitter.  I looked to the other two girls. Bliss wore a dark wash jean mini skirt with a off the shoulder black lace top and strappy black heels. Her blondish- brown hair curled to perfection. Nicole was sporting black shorts with ripped stockings underneath. With a black, sweetheart tank top and a golden locket that stopped right above her cleavage.  and her hair in a slicked back high ponytail.

Then there was Jasper.  He was wearing skin tight white skinny jeans. A black, silk vest, only and a magenta bow tie.  With black all star Converse. We looked like one hell of a group let me tell you that.

Alright bitches lets go.” Nicole said while leading us to her car. To be honest I was still a little Iffy on the whole thing. I mean the only reason we’re able to get in is due to Jasper's name being on the list. For a reason he’d rather not say. It only took a few minutes to get to the club. During the whole ride I was on the look out for the nonhuman creature. However none were seen.

Club music blared from several speakers. It smelled of sweat, perfume and alcohol. Girls moved and swayed their hips as guys danced behind them, moving their hands all around the girl’s bodies. Several couples were in the corner practically shoving their tongues downs each others throats Nicole grabbed my hand and led me to the dance floor with Bliss and Jasper. We made our way to the center of the dance floor. We got several glares as we pushed past the large crowd of people. Once we made it the other three started dancing. Moving their hips and bodies to the beat of the blasting music. I followed them and began moving my hips and let the music take control.

A few songs later I got a tap on the shoulder from Nicole. I followed the point of her finger and at the end of it where deep golden eyes staring at me. I turned back to my three friends and smacked them all on the shoulder.

“You didn't tell me he’d be here!” I shouted at the three, frustration bubbling inside.

“We didn't see any need to.” Bliss shouted back.

“Ya, and if we did tell you, you wouldn't have come.” Nicole commented.

“I don't see what the big deal is anyway. I mean you've got a smokin bad boy with an obvious thing for you.” Jasper decided to add.

“He doesn't have a thing for me.” I grumbled.

“Well you have a thing for him then.”

“I don't have a thing for him either!” I mean yeah he has stunning eyes, dark hair and a dreamy voice but… ok fine I might have a slight thing for him. But I’m not about to admit that to them.  They all just rolled their eyes and continued dancing. I did the same.

“I’m gonna go get a drink, and you're coming with me Bliss.” Nicole shouted another few songs later. There was a gleam in her eye. I followed her gaze and saw Cameron heading right for me. I turned around to find the girls gone. I sighed and looked towards Jasper who was also about to leave.

“Where are you going?” I asked, not wanting to be left alone with Cameron

“To see if I can get a taste of that man candy over there.” He purred and before I could protest he was dancing his way over to some blonde dude. I sighed. Knowing that when I got home I would be thinking of a plan to get revenge.

Suddenly I felt a towering presence over me. I turned and sure enough it was Cameron.

“You must be feeling better.” he shouted over the music.

“Much better thank you very much.” I shouted back.

So whats a Goody two shoes doing in a place like this?”

I scuffed. “First don't call me a goody two shoes. Secondly, Its my senior year so I wanted to have some fun.”

“And your idea of fun is a sweaty club blasting crappy music and men dancing all over you?”

I shrugged. “Well if that's all this is why are you here?”

    "Boredom.”

I couldn't help but laugh. “Ya right.” then it clicked. “Oh hey you wanna finally explain to me this whole thing I’m getting dragged into?”

“Sure, but can we do it some place quiet and that has more privacy?”

“Uh sure. Where do you suggest?”

“You up for a midnight ride?”

I Shrugged. I knew my friends would be all What the hell!, but I wanted answers and if this is how I got them then I would do it.”Sure. Its kinda getting gross in here anyways.”

Cameron laughed then lead me to his car. The outside air felt amazing. I could finally breath without the smell of heavy perfume or colone. There was  no smell of alcohol or whatever else is being sold in that place. The air out here was simply clean.  I followed Cameron to his red jeep and hopped into the passenger side. We pulled out of the parking lot and just drove.
"Ok please don't judge or laugh or anything thing." I said as we turned onto another street. "But why do I get the feeling we know each other?"
"Because we do." Cameron said flat out with a confused look on his face. "We went the same elementary school, we were neighbors."
"Wait Cam?!" I remember growing up with a boy named Cameron or Cam as I called him. However I remember a blonde hair boy with not so intense golden eyes. Also..." Wait I thought your last name was Mavus?"
"It was, but right after we moved my mom and Gavin got married. So we changed last names."
This was a really exciting moment for me. Cameron and I were Bff's until he moved neighborhoods and I was forced into private school by my aunt. "My god have you changed." I sighed as I playfully bumped his shoulder. This explains why I always felt a comfort around him.
"Well so have you. I can't believe it took me telling you to make the connection."
"Oh shut up! It's not my fault that you changed last names, have darker hair and you grew fifty feet."
He laughed. "Well I'm glad to see private school didn't change you."
"Oh it did. Until I met Nicole, Bliss and Jasper. Then everything went out the window. "
"Remind me it thank them.”
I laughed. “Ok I will. Hey we should catch up sometime.”
“Isn't that what we’re doing?”
“Yes but like go to lunch. Because we have some other things to talk about.”
“We do?”
“Yes! You are telling me what exactly is going on here. Why are these things happening and what am I being dragged into?”
Cameron's energy suddenly changed. He got a stern and grim look in his eyes. “Something you’re not ready for.”
“What? Cameron what's going on?”
“Lana I’m gonna sound really crazy here but you need to believe me.” He sighed deeply. “You’re a Grim Reaper.”
