Best Friend

There's always that one person you find pretty annoying or pretty weird in the begining, it usually happens when you first judge a book by its cover. Yes that's what it was, i found this person to be a person whom i would not associate my self with, not because they were weird or annoying, or ugly. In this case, it was me... I wasn't very popular in school, the only reason why people knew me was because of my friends whom were always causing some sort of trouble. I always had a reputation it wasn't a good one to be exact, even though my friends were wild, rebels and a little crazy i might say, i still had a lot of fun with them and yes they were my best friends.

At this time while i was only a 16 year old, my parents would try to control every single one of my actions. Did they like my friends? No, not at all. Did their parents like me? No, they didn't. Our friendship was made up of 3 girls including me, normally we would all hang out together all the time, at school, outside of school, we had no limit. Even though my parents didn't like us together, they always preferred us at my house than outside the house.

Finally, one day i met this guy in class, i didnt meet him for the first time, he had actually been in one of my classes before back in 7th grade but we never really talked to each other, I never thought I would associate my self with him. In that class i was the only 7th grader while everyone else was in 8th grade and to them i barely existed. What i found shocking was that for the first time this guy actually spoke to me, not only did he speak to me, but he knew my name. Of course this guy became my friend, first it was in class, always saving a seat for me next to him, or waiting for me by the door, we would take turns with our assignments since it was computer class, we managed to figure out a way to send each other the assignment before class ended to get credit for the day's lecture.

After always being around each other in class, it became more frequent, not only in class but during brunch and lunch as well, then eventually it got to the point where he was walking me to all my classes. At some point he started walking me home as well, where were my best friends at this time? Always up to no good. Once my parents found out about my new friend, they were happy to know that i was no longer getting in to trouble and that i was doing better in school. This guy became my best friend and yes he came closer to me than my girl best friends, this guy knew it all, he knew my guy drama, he knew the good side of me, the bad side of me, he knew everything and by what i mean everything it also included knowing when my days of month came around for a visit or for the proper term, my menstral cycles. The only bad thing about our relationship was that he was a year older than me, while i was a sophmore, he was a junior and that automatically ment that he was leaving me behind for a whole entire year.

What I most feared

We both knew the day would come, where he would graduate and go on to college and forget about me, his parents were pretty strict with him, he was involved in martial arts and after school he wasn't really allowed to go anywhere else. At the time i had a boyfriend, Edward whom was 4 years older than me. Yes 4 years, while i was in school Edward was always working, my parents knew about him but did not like him one bit and because i would not give up the relationship my parents cutt me off, they took everything from me, my cell phone, my car, my atm which they use to transfer weekend money for me and my week allowance as well. With thats said, Edward knew what type of life i was used to, so instead he decided he was going to supply me with a cell phone and a bank account together so i could use his money when ever i needed anything. It worked pretty well but he had to work twice as hard, and it ment less time together, which drove me nutts! Later with time i started having problems with him due to the lack of time we were spending together, when he had time i was in school and when i had time he was at work.

Everytime something would go wrong, my best friend, Saul would talk to me and let me vent, he listened very well and gave great advice, and when he needed advice i would try an help him too, what helped a lot was that we would give each other the "male version point of view" and "female version point of view" and we trusted each other like no other friends would.

One day he came to school like any other day, he spoke to me about his relationship with his girlfriend and their current situation, which was common for me. But this time, it was diferrent... He broke the news to me, letting me know that he was going to be a dad! At this point i didnt know if to congratulate him or if to sit there and cry,  to me it felt like not only was i loosing him after school, now it felt as if i had just lost him to his new family which i was not prepared for. He made it clear that no matter what we would always remain best friends, but me as a female, i had different thoughts, i already knew his girlfriend didnt like me and that I had to back off due to respect for his new family. We remained best friends all the way thru his senior year and i attended his graduation ceremony along with his girlfriend, whom was ready to pop the baby anytime soon.

After his graduation, his girlfriend and him moved in and it was harder for us to hang out and talk on the phone like before, all i kept saying to my self was, "it's out of respect, i cant talk to him as much or hang out with him like before".  Before i knew it, i was back in highschool in my senior year. This particular year was pretty fun, my girl best friends kept getting introuble like usual, but i had met more people since i didnt associate my self too much with my girl best friends as much that year. And yes i broke up with Edward that year, i found out he cheated and decided that i needed to start off fresh although my relationship with him was of 3 years, it was  a lot harder than i thought but i managed to break thru. At this time i had lost contact with Saul, i missed him, i missed him walking me to class, i missed going to brunch and lunch with him, it was a big change not having him around...
