A Small Ship And Ferocious Warrior

The little craft sped toward them. The viking on the ship duel wielded two axes as the ship plunged towards them. As it came closer they could see water frothing just under the prow, indicating the bow of the ship was reinforced for one specific purpose. Ramming. They tried to swerve but the ship hit their side and the reinforced hull plunged into their own. The ship became stuck in their side. The viking ran over the prow and leaped onto their ship the double axes were ready for the coming battle. Henok ran at him swinging his axe but the viking quickly blocked with one axe and swung back with the other. Henok jumped back and they once again engaged in the dance of battle. Archie nocked an arrow and drew but found no safe angle to loose the shaft. Max jumped off the tiller and drew his sword. He quickly joined the fight but the viking was still able hold his ground. The double axes served the viking well in this position. Aria and Archie could find no way to safely join the fight and Ben had not weapon to help. The viking slashed Max’s leg and he fell down but Ben quickly dragged Max away from the reach of the flying axes. Henok took the chance to strike at the viking but he blocked it and managed to kick Henok’s out from underneath him. He began to swing down upon Henok when Aria used her short sword to block the axe. Her blade was cut in half and Aria was forced to retreat. Archie shot the arrow that had been waiting on his string but it missed by only millimeters. Max got up as well as Henok. Aria drew her dagger and all three closed in upon him as Archie continued to try and get a safe angle for another shot. Now that he was out numbered he was forced to retreat. He leapt back upon the prow of his ship and sailed quickly away. They would have sailed after him if it weren’t for the gaping hole the ship’s ram had left in their side.

Aria quickly unfurled their spare sail and led the crew under the deck and they hammered the sail to the hole. It served well as a plug. They quickly started to bail out the water that had quickly flooded the ship. As they finished they heard a yell. “We will meet again, and I will win!” The shout came from the small craft speeding away into the distance.

A Trading Village

They sailed quickly towards their destination. Soon they reached the port of the village and they lowered the sail just in time to allow the crippled ship to glide to a stop befor the dock wall. They tied a rope to the dock and they hopped off, ready to try and get the highest amount for their charged scale. They walked through the crowded cobblestone streets. When they came to a gem seller they asked for a price, the man stared at it for a while. Silently examining and measuring the exotic and rare  piece of energy. “500 silvers”, said the man. Hoping for a larger price Aria stared with a straight face “700 silvers at least, what do you take us for!”. The man just scowled and handed over the large sum of money in a bag. When they looked away they all beamed. This would cover the repairs and more. “Great job Aria!”, they all said once they were out of earshot of the trader. After ordering the repairs they went and visited the weapon smith. They bought a new short sword for Aria and after what had happened with the unknown viking they bought Ben a short sword as well as a dagger. When they were all ready for protecting themselves once more they went to the nearest restaurant and bought some food. As they ate Ben unconsciously scanned every face that walked by for he had never seen so many people. Archie felt a small nudge in his side as he was eating the last of his bread and as he looked up he saw Ben pointing to a familiar figure standing at the counter ordering his own food. As he turned around he stared them straight in the face. Underneath the table Archie kicked everyone’s shins and discreetly pointed toward the viking. Everyone put their hands on their various weapons, ready for a fight.
