Okay I usually don’t do this at the start but I just want to say a few things. You can skip this but I would rather you read it. Look I didn’t think I would get this far, the series is going well. The support of knowing I have entertained over 40 people is great, it may not seem like a lot but for me, it’s amazing. Sorry I have not been updating the other series, I just enjoy this one the most..... and I want at least one series off my shoulders. So get ready for a lot more of these. Now let’s get back into the book.

Pain

The screams of Archie echoed over the surface of the water. “Does anyone here have idea how to help him” said Max crouched over Archie clutching his broken shin. Ben rushed up from the rowing area. “I do but I need at least some healing materials”, he said studying the broken leg. “And maybe some wrapping” he continued. Aria searched through their materials for anything that might have some healing properties. Henok rushed over to the tiller and started steering the ship towards the nearest land mass. Max tried to help Archie by saying “Come on, I had my led slashed by Fergus. It shouldn’t be worse than that”. “Max, you had a shallow cut, Archie’s leg might be fractured. The blade made it straight to the bone”, said Ben after taking a close look at the wound. Aria rushed over with every herb in their ship as well as some bandages that they had bought from the village in case they ran into anything like the serpent again. Ben mashed up some specific herds into a salve and placed it on Archie’s leg. When his hand touched the broken bone pain shot through Archie and he yelled out. Ben  quickly bandaged the leg before he caused any more pain. “The salve should stop any infection and lessen the pain, I don’t know how to do any more”, said Ben after stepping back. “You did well”, said Aria trying to make Ben feel that he hadn’t done enough.

A Calm Beach

The crew started to chop down trees and set up a shelter while Ben continued to renew the numbing salve. Max didn’t participate in anything because he went hunting. When dawn came they were all hungry, they had only eaten breakfast that whole day. The shelter was mostly finished, only a few tweaks to go. Ben talked to the crew about how they would Max returned out of the nearby woods with a bed of some sort bundled up. To sticks lay parallel while vines were weaved together as a cover. He walked up to them and and unwrapped the bed like object to reveal 4 rabbits. The food was passed over to Ben who started cooking them up. Max called over Henok as he walked towards Archie. Max slid the mat under Archie and Henok quickly grasped onto the idea. The two parallel sticks were where they held while the mat lifted Archie up. It was an easy way and didn't harm Archie’s broken leg.

As the sun rose it quietly nudged awake the sleeping faces of the crew. They had the time to enjoy the calm beach today. Before they had to rush to get things done before nightfall, but now they took in the natural beauty. The forest was a few meters away from where the sand stopped, to their left was a bend in the beach front. While to their right was a great expanse of open beach that seemed to go on forever. After breakfast, which consisted of the remains of last nights meal, Fergus got to work training the crew while Archie watched hopelessly from afar. He wished he could at least practise his bow but with his leg he wouldn’t get a good stance to draw the bow.
