Hopeless

They rowed as fast as they could take themselves. Their hearts beating out of their chest and their stomach twisting in hopelessness. They could now make out a harbour on the island. The pirates would reach the harbour and the other pirate inhabitants would help them, and they would not be able to do a thing. Even though their ship was lighter than theirs the pirates had rows upon rows of oars. They moved as fast as they could but they could never reach it. They never had a chance. All of a sudden the wind stopped altogether and their ship slowed again. “OH GREAT! JUST TAKE AWAY EVERY SINGLE ADVANTAGE!” Yelled Max to the sky. The waves slowed from the lack of wind slowing them again. “Great!” Max continued. “Every bit of speed! Why don’t you take away our oars as well!” Determination slowly drained out of each of them. Then the sail filled. The wind hadn’t disappeared it had moved. It was directly in the middle of the sail fabric, sending them flying from their slow pace. They all cheered. They were unstoppable and they would get back their rightful loot. The waves picked up the speed of the wind and they too sped them on. They continued to row. Every inch of speed that was capable of the small craft was in that very moment. They were almost flying. In just over five minutes they were only a few meters away from their targets. The pirates grappled their ship and the fight began.

For Honour

Their ship was dragged by both the loot carrying ship and the last guard, but the power of their momentum carried their ram into the guard ship. Max leapt off of the steering platform as the rest of the crew came up from the rowing benches. They charged the crippled guard ship. Behind them they heard cheers and yells of hope. Why would the pirates yell in victory when the fight had just started, they thought. They boarded the ship and Fergus, Henok and Max went to fight as Ben, Archie and Aria worked on cutting the grapples before the sinking ship took theirs down with it. The first rope was cut and Ben moved to help the others. Max fought his sword flicking like a snake as Fergus rushed in with his bone crushing battle axes. Henok sliced with his double handed axe, allowing for maximum strength and power behind every hit. It was like a dance, a dance of death, power and strength but a dance nonetheless. Aria finished her rope as Archie and Ben finished theirs. The crew jumped back to their own ship as the guard ship sunk to the ocean. “Curse you to the sea serpent-” yelled one of the pirates but was cut off by Henok. “We killed the sea serpent!”. The ship sank and the crew turned their attention to the loot ship. “For honour!” Shouted Max and they boarded the next ship.

The first thing they realised was that there was a cage in the middle but then the pirates filled their vision. They cut slashed killed, they gave no mercy to the people who gave none to them. Aria and Ben joined in with their short swords while Archie, who was not able to use his bow, ran in with his dagger. Swords flickered and axes whirred in a death circle. Whoever was caught in the line was cut down. “No mercy! For honour!” The crew chanted as they hacked through the enemies. “No mercy! For honour!”
