Chapter 1: Explanation

“Those were the five leaders of the different teams. Xar was the leader of The Spiders, Skel is the leader of The Blades. Morwa is the leader of The Sharks, Garkot is the leader of The Eagles. Finally there is Vareth, the leaders of our own group The Dragons.” Said Caren as he led Blaze to his rooms. “Our?” Questioned Blaze. Caren held out a slip of paper that Blaze hadn’t seen before. Unfolding the paper slowly Blaze wondered what was inside. Once he had opened it he saw that on it was the insignia of a fire with The Dragons, written in gold coloured ink. “They not only lead the groups, but the whole academy. Based on your rating out of a hundred you are assigned to a different team. But you!” Exclaimed Caren. “No student has ever had the ability for magic so high that Sienna has called out one hundred! Not only that but your skill was so high that it made her break a sweat! I am glad to have you on my team and not on any other! Otherwise we would be ruined!” Blaze stood stunned, he was the highest ranking student. He had been rated higher than any magic user before him. Blaze looked up at Caren smiling. “Now all we have to do is find your power! Then we will release the full wrath of The Dragons!” Yelled Caren laughing all the while other students looked on confused.

Chapter 2: The Team

Blaze awoke early. Rubbing his eyes he walked over and opened a window, he was glad to see that a comfortable bed didn’t ruin his habit of waking early. Blaze pulled on a shirt and pants. Moving over he found his cloak where he had dumped it the night before. Carefully he pulled out his three books, purse and the key. He placed them on his small bedside desk, leaving room on his larger study desk. Looking around Blaze enjoyed the large space the Academy had given him. Picking up The History Of Dragons, Blaze opened up to a page, he pulled out a small piece of paper he had put in there when he had left. Looking over he saw a picture of him and his family. He remembered sitting there for what seemed forever as the artist drew them. Tears began to well in his eyes when a knock came at the door. He quickly his the picture and placed the book on the table. Slipping on his cloak he moved to the door and opened it to Caren. “Let’s get you to the Dragons.” He said, before motioning for him to follow.

As they walked Blaze began to recognise the walls and rooms around him. Finally they reached the five doors of the different teams. Leading him in Caren opened the door to the Dragons and walked over to a group of people. All of them looked the same age as Blaze and made up of many different people. The door behind them opened again to reveal Vareth, smiling. “Welcome students to the Dragons! We seem to have a very special student in our team.” He said looking slightly over to Blaze. “Today we will begin with introducing each other and the basics of magic. Delila please introduce yourself and your family name. Follow up with a fact from yourself. Next in line will follow and so on.” Delila was a slim and smiling little girl with an energetic personality. “Hello! My name is Delila, but I guess you already know that. My family name is Sunning. Annnnndddd I... Oh! I love flowers and butterflies.... that sounds really childish...” Said Delila excitedly before sitting down. Next was another girl, black hair and shy. “My name is Mary. Family name is Venas. I don’t talk much.” She said bluntly before sitting down. Next in line was a tall and handsome boy with brown hair and hazel eyes. “My name is Lark. My family name is Dereth. I enjoy sword combat and friendly competitions.” He said with confident ease. As if everyone instantly liked him. Next was a boy, slightly larger than most but not extremely fat. “I am Baren. Baren Doal. I enjoy good company and good food. “Looks like it,” Came a snorting reply from Lark. Now it was Blaze’s turn. “My name is Blaze. I enjoy books and kind company.” He said. “Are you deaf? What’s you last name?” Came Lark’s now familiar voice. Delila looked over. “Lark! Don’t start.” She said, obviously knowing him. “Well he could at least tell us,” Lark demanded. “Lark! Meet me outside after class.” Came Vareth’s stern voice. Cutting through the discussion.
