ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

I Thank GOD. I wouldn’t be where I am now. Yes, I am one of those that believes in GOD. So many times, miracles have happened. Some say fate. But it is not. I know it’s you Lord! Your timing is always perfect. You are random lol.

My Darling. Always Mums Putiputi. You will always be my miracle baby. Those past times I am reminded that I have you. I hope this book will help you to make the best of what you have. You don’t have to do what mum does as a career. Just be the best you want to be in whatever you chose. And just be happy. You weren’t meant to fit in. You were made to stand out like your mama. I thank God for you always.

To My Parents (Mum and Dad) I love you both. You have been my backbone through my journey from my childhood into now. Mum always the fighter in the background with her encouragement and hard knocks love, mother’s heart when it comes to prayer and randomness. Dad with his humble love that just knows his daughter, you are the solid rock that is at the front for all of us. God chose the right one’s to be my parents. Love you always. The best daughter in the whole world lol.

those that have passed

My Grandparents - I love and miss you all very much. I'm thankful for you all for being my teachers about GOD, but most importantly being in my life. I learnt so much from you about our tikanga, mahi ethic and most of all aroha.

Aunty Carol -  Love and miss you aunty. You sure were a hard lady. Loved hard, hard to get along with too. But at the same time loved me hard like I was your daughter. I appreciate you even more now with what you tried to educate and share with me. You had that business taonga that I wish I took more into account. Love you and thank you

Aunty Gail - For those times you were there aunty. I'm thankful I was able to share with you. A strong lady that was trusted. And you acted more Maori than other Maori I know. Love and miss you

Aunty Winnie - You inspired me aunty. So humble in how you carried yourself in the professional world you still continued to help many. Just beautiful. I hope if I can be close to even what you were as far as professionalism and humility. Love and miss you aunty.

Aunty Kuia (Heni Hiha) - Aunty you were a person that loved hard. We didn't always get along. But, those times where you had my back I'd never forget it and really appreciated how you tried to help me in your own way. Love you and thank you

Mr Maremare - (Dad) My second Dad, Maori Teacher, Academic Mentor, Storyteller lol. Love and miss you too Grumpy. I'll never forget those last words. I'm proud of you daughter. Those times you were there fighting for me from other teachers trying to get me to be another statistic in the system. I'm sure you'll be up there in heaven smiling down. Eating chocolate bars, having coke zero and no smoking lol. I'm sure smoking is prohibited in heaven.

TE TIMATATANGA - THE BEGINNING

Taku Taonga:  My Gift / Treasure

Taku Mōhiotanga:  My Knowledge

Taku   Mātau ā-wheako:  My Experience

Before you start reading this book. Make sure your mind is clear and ear is open to receive knowledge. As the author I don’t expect you to take everything on board in this book. But, I hope that you can use this book from my experiences as a way of helping you to keep on searching for more knowledge or information to help you be successful in business. Each of us have our own story and in our own way we set the path and the example for others to perfect their own TAONGA. (Their own treasured possession / gift.) And turn that TAONGA into something beautiful.

If in doubt always go through the right legal or professional channels to get the answers you need to make the right decisions whether you go into business or not. It’s good to have information that is relevant to now and the correct resources where to get your answers as business is always evolving.

TAUTOKO / SUPPORT

Some helpful tips to reading this book.

  1. For those that are still in the Business Idea Stage. Recommended to read page 3 then continue throughout the book when you are ready
  2. For those that want to Fast Track to Armor for your Business pages  10, 11, 12 & 13
  3. For those that would like to know How I put my business together pages 3,4,5 and 9
  4. For those that would like to just fast track to Sales, Marketing and technology pages 14, 16 & 17

Being that this is a short book you may read all of it anyway as it is a pretty quick book to read. Hopefully you will get some enjoyment of reading this as much as I have putting this short self-help book together.
