A golden tom with brown speckles padded into a cave, his green eyes blinked at sleeping she-cat, the she-cat's fur was dark grey and she had white patches all over her fur.

"Oh Skye." The tom cat looked at his friend, Skye opened her milky blue eyes at looked at the tom.

"Yes Sunlight?" She asked.

"Uh, well, it's, uh, it's  morning, so I was thinking, maybe, we could eat together?" Sunlight's ears felt hot and he laid a paw behind his head. Skye giggled. 

"Of course!" Skye padded up and nuzzled Sunlight.

"Let's go!" She nudged him out into the glorious sun, the morning was the best time to go out and sit in the sun. 

"Wow! It's so warm!" Skye said as she picked up a piece of prey that was laying in a patch of long grass, Sunlight picked up his own share of food and followed Skye to a ring of  long grass. Skye pushed her way though the grass and bounded into a clearing, she laid down to eat next to a brown tabby she-cat.

"Kian." Skye nodded at the other female. 

"Morning." Kian nodded back and then she turned back to her prey. 

 A blue-grey tom joined the other cats, and they all stood up and bowed their heads to him. He blinked at them with his yellow eyes, and gratefully told them he respected that they bowed but they really didn't need to. 

"Oh but Star!" A ginger tom called."We must bow to YOU" Star shook his head at the tom's statement. 

"Star!" Called a black she-cat who then padded out from behind Star. A nervous look was on her face and tears danced in her blue eyes.

"Moony?" Star turned to his mate.

"The kittens!" Moony stared at him in fear. 

The kittens! Skye thought, she knew Moony was expecting kittens, but they were coming early! Cats raced around gathering things to help Moony and Star. The cats had gathered in Moony's cave, Star laid soft moss under the she-cat then he laid next to her and licked her cheek. 

Skye waited outside and flattened her ears trying not to hear the squeals of pain coming from the she-cat. Finally it was over and Skye went to see the new kittens. They had chosen the names already! 

"This is Blazer." Moony purred and nudged a golden she-kitten that had orange stripes.

"Here is Skere." She pointed with her tail at a feisty white she-kitten who's tail was lashing madly.

"And lastly, Rai." She tapped a quiet little cream tom kitten.

 Rai opened his clear blue eyes to see Skere fighting a moss ball, again. Skere heard Rai's sigh and looked at him with her unusual red eyes. Just as Skere pounced at Rai, Blazer slipped in the way and knocked Skere back.

"Skere! You know Rai doesn't like it when you attack him!" Blazer snarled. Even though Skere was feisty she didn't like being told off and she went off to sulk. 

"Thanks Blazer." Rai murmured and he left the den. He was wandering around camp and he saw a hole in the tree circle that was the border of camp, he was small enough to get through the hole so he called Blazer and Skere. They came and talked.

"Let's go see!" Skere meowed,

"Uh..." Rai hesitated,

"C'mon Rai." Blazer purred and the young kittens climbed through the gap. The gasped at the surroundings and wandered around, hunting mice and birds, they swam across ponds and waded though 'marshes' they were the most adventurous kittens in the forest!
