Chapter 1

I let the maids help me into my dress. Their faces were grim in the dim candlelight. It was the only light in this room.

I turned as they instructed, letting the silky white skirt twirl. How could this pure white dress be down here, in the cellars?

“Are they here?” I whisper to one maid as she pulls a necklace over my head, hoping the guard won’t hear.

“Yes,” she replies.

Shivers went up my spine.   The King and Prince of Marawon are the only ones who can help me and my people.

My step mother, the Queen, murdered my father, then took the throne. Only the outside kingdoms fell for her trick. I was too young to take the throne then, but now, I could if I demanded it since I was 18. I did. She locked me down here. Before she imprissoned me here, I was locked in my room. I tried to escape by climbing out the window, but I was caught, and... well this was the result.

I’m not sure what my people are going through now, being chained to the wall. All I know is that I need help to over take the throne.

The guards escorted me out of the room, gripping onto me tightly. The halls were so bright compared to my room that it hurt my eyes.

The big doors ahead were towering over us, leading to the throne room and this kingdoms only hope.

‘Here we go,’ I thought as the doors swung open.

Thanks for reading

Throughout this book, there will be different fairytales. Like, this first one is SnowWhite.

It is so hard to decide what fairy tales to do twists on. I know for sure you will see a Little Mermaid, and hopefully Milan and Aladdin.

Anyway, enjoy!

Chapter 2

As the doors opened with a creak of old age, the guards let my arms go and took a step back. I wore a fake smile as I walked into the room, my hands lightly clenched at my stomach.

I hated how they white dress blended with my skin colour, and it was so poofy! Perhaps, if I had the life a princess is supposed to have, then maybe I wouldn’t mind it.

I smiled at the Prince and King kindly with respect before curtsying. Then I had to curtsy for the witch.

She sat on that golden throne, her dress blood red. Playing with the curls in her blond white hair, she smiled, teeth catching in the light.

“SnowWhite, my dear girl. What a pleasure it is for you to meet King Lou and Prince Charles.”

I turn to the two again, curtsying them and welcoming them. How do I get the Prince alone? His father would never believe me! Knowing her majesty, she would not allow us alone. She would fear that I would tell him everything.

“Shall we have dinner?” The Queen gave such an innocent look as she spoke. It made my blood run cold.

We crossed into the next room, walking into the dinning room. I tried to hide my expression of awe as I stared at all of the candles along the wall, the flames dancing.

I took a seat right across from the Prince. The table was so large, there was no way I could sneak a note to him. No, I had to think of something else.

The King and Queen were quickly sucked into conversation, but the Prince and I would just sneak glances at each other.

I must say, I can’t help but think of how handsome he is. His short, pale chocolaty brown hair stood out against his peachy skin, and he had some facial hair too. It wasn’t bushy, but not spiky either. His eyes were green as the spring leaves I have not seen in years, and his blue and silver suit truly suited him.

As the butlers came out with our drinks, I tell the butler placing down my drink how grateful I am. He bowed before whispering, “how my I help, my Queen?”

“Give a message to the Prince. Tell him to talk a walk around the castle. One he finds out prison windows, to look for me. No one can follow.”

The butler bowed again before leaving. The Queens harsh, beady black eyes were on me. Hoping not to be busted, I stand up to make a toast.

“I just want to thank you your highnesses for being our humble guests. I can ensure you, the Queen will take good care of you, just like she had done for me.”

“Cheers!” The King tells, throwing up his glass. The Queen smiles, and it’s hard to tell if it’s fake or not.

When dinner came out, my stomach growled. I placed my hand over it, hoping no one heard. I’ve haven’t seen such a lovely meal in so long!

The smell of the soup was enough to make my mouth water. But, manners are key. I lay out my napkins across my lap, the picked up my spoon. As I did so, I glanced up to the Prince. He stared at the napkin for a long moment before eating the soup.

The only way I knew that he got my message was the look he gave me for the rest of the night.

It want those short glances that said, my, I have never seen someone so magnificent, so stunning.

No, this one read, what is going on?
