Poetry of the Heart
Introduction
Hello, dear reader, and thank you for choosing to read this book!
The poems in this book are ones which I have written over the past four years. Some are good, others are...not so much. But, I'll leave it to you to decide.
I started writing these poems at fifteen years old, and often reflect my thoughts of life at those times. Some will make sense, others will not, some will have a deeper message, and others should be taken at face value.
As the writer of these poems, I cannot give a true opinion, but I do, nevertheless, hope you enjoy them.
Charlotte.
The Tulip.
A petal falls softly,
A tear glistens on the cheek,
Silence is her best friend,
And the petals her rival,
The tulip is deadly,
The thorns of poison,
A child dies,
And the flower perishes.
Still, in death her rival has come.
Reality
Fires and ashes,
Killers and lust,
Memories past,
And forbidden trust.
Seek me near,
Hear me far,
I am not real,
Make-belief in your heart.
