When summers never end

The end of term

It had been a long term and John was glad that lessons were over for the week.  The headmaster was rounding off the day with a reading from Voyage of the Dawn Treader.  John was only half listening and letting his mind wander as he watched the dust motes dance in the afternoon sun as it streamed through the windows.  His thoughts were about what he would do when the bell rang signalling the end of the lesson and the end of term.  The summer holidays would start with their endless possibilities.
