Chapter 1: The bet

Sam Blythe sat in History 101 bored out of her mind. The college board  had just added History 101 as a mandatory class for those wishing to graduate with a bachelors in History. She lept out of her seat when the professor said class was over for that day. She had just left the classroom when she heard someone call her name. She looked around and saw her friend Lucy.

Lucy! What is up my friend?” Lucy chuckled. “Taxes.”

“Very funny Lucy.”

“I know I am a very funny person. Hey wanna make a bet?”

“You know I always win whenever we bet on stuff so sure.”

“I bet you $30 that the demon summoning rituals online are real.”

“You really belive that stuff Lucy?”

“Yes I do”

“So if I can prove that they aren’t then I get $30?”

“Oh you are on Lucy” Sam smiled. “See you tomorrow and be sure to have my $30 ready.” Sam walked to her car and drove to her small apartment.

“Ok let’s look up some demon summoning rituals.” Sam said hopping into her computer chair and logging into her computer. “Let’s see what we got.” She surfed the web for 45 minutes untill she found a ritual she liked. “Well time to prove to Lucy that these rituals are bogus.”

Sam’s P.O.V.

I went and got a giant dry erase board from my closet and proceed to draw a giant pentagram on it. I went and got a knife from my kitchen and cut my hand. This is some weird stuff. I wait until my hand is covered in blood  then place it in the middle of the pentagram. I close my eyes “Lord Satan, by your grace, grant me, I pray thee the power to conceive in my mind and to execute that which I desire to do, the end which I would attain by thy help, O Mighty Satan, the one True God who livest and reignest forever and ever. I entreat thee to inspire whomever you send me to manifest before me that he/she may give me true and faithful answer, so that I may accomplish my desired end, provided that it is proper to his/her office. This I respectfully and humbly ask in Your Name, Lord Satan, may you deem me worthy father.” As I open my eyes smoke is  coming from the middle of the pentagram. OH MY GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE?!

Chapter 2: Demon

Sams's P.O.V.

I was stunned as a six foot demon emerged from the smoke. I thought the rituals online were fake. How did this one work?! How?! At least i lost $30 instead of $50. I panic and begin to struggle as the demon grabs my wrist and lifts me off of the ground. "PLEASE PLEASE!!" I scream. "I DID NOT MEAN TO SUMMON YOU! I AM SORRY!!! I DID NOT THINK THE RITUAL WOULD WORK!!!"

3rd Person P.O.V.

The demon looked confused as Sam said that she did not mean to summon him. Sam look equally confused as the demon in perfect english said. "You really thought that a ritual to summon a demon would not work?! You are stupid."

"What do you want?" Sam asked terrified.

"You have a soul don't you?"

"I...I...I don't know."

"You are a human so the answer is yes."

"Then I guess I do"

"I am going to eat it. I have a taste for human souls."

Sam stared as the demon opened his mouth and a bright yellow light seemed to come from it. Five minutes the demon  closed his mouth and tossed Sam to the floor, obviously pissed off.

"Why is your soul so bitter?"

"Excuse me?"

"You are happy go lucky aren't you?"

"Umm yes. Why does it matter?"

"Satan Damn it

Chapter 3: The Deal

Sam stood in awe as the demon produced a contract and a pen out of thin out. She was pulled back into reality as the demon shoved the pen in her hand and started encouraging her to sign the contract."Come on sign it." It said grabbing her left wrist and bringing it to the contract. Sam immediately wriggled out of its grip and dropped the pen. "I AM NOT SIGNING THAT!!!"

"LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY APARTMENT!!!" Sam yelled pointing at the now broken walls. The demon snapped his fingers and the damage disappeared. "Now will you sign it?"

The demon turned the contract to face him and began reading it. " I Sam Blythe give Lucius two years to eat my soul. If he fails he will leave her alone for the rest of eternity. So do we have deal?" Sam hesitated. Lucius was becoming impatient. "Look if you sign it I will get rid of your student debt."

Sam's P.O.V.

Get rid of my student debt? The debt I have accumulated over the past 4 years? The debt that will get bigger before it gets smaller? Alright I will sign it.

3rd Person P.O.V.

"Ok I will sign it but you have to get rid of my student debt first."

Lucius smiled. " As You wish" He snapped  his fingers. " There it is all gone. Now you keep your end of our deal. Sam took the pen out of Lucius's hand and signed the contact. The contract and pen disappeared. Lucius began to laugh. "Oh and one more thing Sam." Sam did not even get the chance to respond before a wave of pain shot through her hand. She began to writhe in pain. After five minutes the pain went away. Sam looked at her hand on it was a black pentagram with the words amara Est all around it. She smiled much to the dismay of Lucius. "So I am Bitter Soul to you?" Lucius looked confused. "How did you know that's what it said?"

"Studied Latin as hobby. One more question. Do you always give nicknames to those who sign your contracts?."

"Nope just you."

Lucius sniffed the air and was flabbergasted. "How is your soul still bitter? How did you find any bright side to the giant amount of pain you felt and now having a permanent pentagram for the whole world to see on your hand." Sam chuckled. "Well I have always wanted a tattoo and now you have given me one." Lucius's eye twitched. He sighed. " This is going to be a long two years."
