A Beautiful Love

The Dream

Kristiana ran towards the door and quickly opened it. She rushed to run outside where cars drove by to try and hit her. Her heart was pounding and her hands were shaking as she ran to the side walk. Dogs barked at her and chased her. Suddenly, a girl with black hair appeared and walked beside her. This girl seemed to appear in every dream Kristiana ever had. The girl with black hair gave her a nasty look and grabbed her shoulders. "You stay away from him! He's mine!" And standing before her was a handsome young man whom she always saw. "Kristiana, follow me...I love you." However, before she could follow him the girl with black hair turned into a disgusting demon!

"Ahhhh!!!" She screamed as the demon scratched at her. Kristiana opened her eyes. Now that she was awake, her alarm clock beeped loudly. "Ugh..." She groaned.

After she got dressed she wrote down the events in her dream journal like she always did. "Kristiana, wake up!" Her Dad would call. "I'm awake Dad", she called back, never failing to impress him.

When it was 12 in the afternoon, she would drive down to her school where she took cosmetology class. It was autumn and she was told there was a new girl in her class.

Minutes later, she was looking into the eyes of a girl who had black, short, straight hair, a pink head band, a pretty purple blouse and a black skirt and sandals. Her facial features were wide and big.

Kristiana introduced herself, "Hey, I'm..." "Kristiana, right? Ughl, don't tell me. I know who you are", the girl with black hair said. She gave her a small frown. "I've heard so many great things about you that I totally want dibs on being your partner this thursday. My name is Beth. It's nice to meet you." Suddenly, Kristiana's frown turned into a smile. She grew warm inside.

After a few lectures and hair styling lessons at the student's stations, Kristiana joined Beth for break time. They sat together and talked the whole time.

"So, are you like, adopted?" "Yea, how did you know?" "Rumor has it. Ugh, I'm sorry. I'll share," Beth giggled. She had a certain Valley girl vibration Kristiana could pick up on. She giggled all the time, she used words such as "like" and "totally", and she never seemed to leave a room without lip gloss.

"I'm from a small family who was like, totally broken up years ago." She added. "What happened?" Kristiana curiously asked. "Well, you see, my mother didn't want my sister to have one of her children. So instead we shipped her off to adoption. I can totally tell if kids are adopted. It's like my 'psychic thing'", she giggled.

Suddenly, as Kristiana was talking Beth had a certain urge to get her attention. "Hey! Why don't we have like a sleep over? Or something..." In spite of the fact that Beth was distracting her, she still could notice foot steps in the distance. She looked at Beth and wondered why she wanted to become friends so quickly. Beth grabbed her arm and rushed to class with her. "It will be so much fun. I promise." Instead of questioning it, she played along. Maybe she would make a friend after all.

It was 5:30 in the evening on a monday and Beth still hadn't arrived yet. Kristiana's cell phone was on the kitchen table and it rang. She answered it and it was Beth. "Hey, Beth are you coming?" "Yeah, can't wait. I'll be there in 10 mintues, I just gotta talk to someone about some files..." Her voice slowly trailed off. It was almost as if, Beth was being distracted.

Kristiana excused herself because she heard a noise coming from upstairs. "Hello? Hello?" A man's voice sounded. She hung up the phone and slowly walked upstairs.

She looked around her darkened bedroom and switched on the lights. No one was there. As she no longer heard the man's voice, she wondered who it could have been. Who the heck was that? She thought to herself. It was silent in the room and Kristiana was so focused on the silence she didn't hear the door bell ring!

"Omg! Beth is here", she became startled. She rushed downstairs and swung open the front door of her home. "Hey! You're here!" Beth hugged her.

Time had passed and Beth and Kristiana were doing each other's nails. "Do you want sequins or flowers?" Kristiana looked at Beth and studied her face. "Hey, Beth...how old are you?" Beth looked up at her and stared for a moment. "Um...I'll be twenty-two in May." She gave her a cheesy smile. "This is so much fun. While everyone else is partying, we're having girl time." Beth smiled at Kristiana.

She looked at Beth while she was busy polishing her nails. "So, did you have a mother?" Beth asked Kristiana. "Oh...um..." She began fidgeting with her hands. "I get really uncomfortable talking about her...I...I can't." Beth gave Kristiana a concerning look. "It's okay, you can trust me. I'm your friend, right? I mean, all the other girls are so mean to me. You're the only one I can trust."

Kristiana grew sympathetic for Beth. Was she in the same situation she was in? Maybe it wouldn't be too bad to trust her, just a little.

"Okay...but please keep this between us." "Cross my heart and hope to die. I promise!" Beth grew eager to listen. "Well, it's kind of sad. Um...I had a mother. Her name was Samantha actually. She had auburn hair and brown eyes. She gave up for adoption before she passed away. I currently don't have a boyfriend because I'm waiting for the right guy. I don't know..."

Beth leaned in. "My parents kept a bunch of hidden files in our down stairs drawers. I was never supposed to read them. It said I had an aunt. Her name is unidentified. And I was passed down to her before I was placed in foster care. I always believed my parents were dead."

There was silence. "Oh...I see. I'm so sorry, Kristiana. I can't imagine how difficult that was for you. If it helps, I thought my mother passed away too."

Kristiana smiled at Beth. She's totally perfect for me. I know she and I will be great friends. She thought.

Beth asked permission to use the restroom and behind Kristiana's back, she walked downstairs silently.

She decided to search in the downstairs file cabnets.

"You won't ever cross me again..."

It's true love

By this time, after a few weeks had passed Kristiana had become good friends with Beth. And her cosmetology work was taking off like a rocket. All her work was beautiful and her teacher loved it.

However, Kristiana was worried about one thing in particular. She was worried about finding love. It had been a while since she last flirted with anyone or had a romantic date.

While she was at school, a few men approached her and asked her out on dates. Seperately, she could not refuse to go to each one of them. For her sake she thought it would be best to just "look for the one". Unfortunately, every date was a complete dud.

One Thursday during the end of class, Kristiana was sent a single rose by an anonymous person. It was a mystery to her. The rose was simply lying out on her station.

Before she could take it in her hands, Beth appeared and snatched the rose! "Oh my goodness! Is this for me?" She exclaimed. Kristiana looked utterly confused. "Wha...why I didn't..." "Oh Kristiana! You are the sweetest friend I have ever known. Thank you for the rose." And Beth trotted off with that single rose.

As Kristiana walked downstairs and across the way to her car she noticed a guy following her. He didn't look shady at all. However, he was wearing a blue tee shirt and had brown khaki shorts on, with flip flops.

She ran to her car and before she could open the front door, that same guy appeared in front of her. "Hey..." She exclaimed. Suddenly, looking in the eyes of the guy smiling at her, she grew calm. "Hi, I'm...Jason Marcelo", he held out his hand.

Kristiana looked at him. They spent a while gazing into each other's eyes. She shook his hand for a moment. "Do I...know you?" She asked feeling familiarity with him. "Um...I don't think so, but I know you're the cutest girl in school", he charmingly grinned.

Jason had a nice white smile with perfectly straight teeth, brown eyes, dark gorgeous locks of hair and sharp handsome features. He was light skinned and very handsome.

Kristiana looked up at him and shyly turned her head. "Thank you...that's very sweet. Um...are you the guy who sent the rose?" He fiddled a little with his hands. "Yes, and what is your name?" He asked distracted. "Kristiana" she smiled at him.

He grabbed her waist and pulled her in gently. He scooped his hand into the nape of her neck, leaned in and kissed her. Jason wasn't afraid to use a little bit of tongue in his first kiss with Kristiana.

They felt their hearts beating the same rhythem and sparks between their lips. When they separated, they recognized each other very intently.

"It's you..." They said in unison. Then they laughed. After talking for a while they exchanged numbers and Kristiana drove home with butterflies full in her stomach.

It was 10 AM on a Friday morning and Beth was at the
