Chapter One: New Awakening.

I opened my eyes and shot up straight, I wasn’t in my bed, nor my room. I was in the middle of a forest, the grass was up to my knees and there were flowers everywhere. On the edge of the clearing there stood dark oak trees that seemed to stand as high as skyscrapers. Then on the other side of the clearing there was one tree that stood out from the others; a weeping cherry tree. It reached into the skies higher than two of the dark oak trees stacked ontop of each other. I got up, thinking I was dreaming, I mean there was no way I wasn’t, right? I felt the urge to walk towards the cherry tree, and so I did.

Sitting under the tree was a wolf, it was a male with black fur and blood red eyes, around his eyes was emerald green fade making him look like royalty. The wolf looked up at me a grinned a bit. He got onto all fours and walked closer.

“Welcome Crystal.” He spoke.

“Hey there, so where am I?” I asked, but I was confused, because I had chosen to say that. Normally in dreams I wasn’t able to control what I do, I brushed it off as a first time thing.

“You are in the realm of Earth, I have chosen you to become a warrior and protect your realm.” He spoke “I am Jett, your Elemental Guardian.”

“Why will I be guarding Earth?” I asked, sarcasm flowing through my voice as I shook my hand in the air dramatically.

“This is serious, Crystal!” Jett scolded harshly.

“Yeah, I should wake up any minute now, so I really don't care, I'm gonna explore this place.” I spoke turning around to begin the adventure. However, just as I turned around Jett stood in front of me with an frustrated look in his eyes. Jett had moved in my way while I looked away for not even a minute, I sighed and kept my calm facade.

“Okay then, I’m going to walk past you and just-” I cut myself off as Jett teleported in front of me.

“What will it take for you to believe this is real?” He asked.

“Well, I don’t really know. If this is real, which it probably isn’t I would have to be shown something or something would have to happen to me in order for me to believe you. Yet again, if you say something and I look it up on the internet then I could very much be dreaming the information and it could be fake either way, if I tell you to say something only I would know then I would only know it and I would be able to make a fabrication of it in my dreams…” I rambled.

“I could say something that I know offends you?” Jett stated.

“No, cause I would know it offends me, therefore I could just be dreaming it up.” I said, suddenly an idea struck in my head.

“Hey, you’re supposedly my ‘Elemental Guardian’ right?” I asked.

“Yeah.” Jett stated, tilting his head to the side.

“What’s my favorite anime?” I asked Jett, my thoughts were if he got it wrong then I wouldn’t be dreaming cause if I were dreaming he would probably get it right because it’s my dream and I would want him to get it right.

“What’s an-nee-may?” Jett asked. My face went blank.

“Okay, I’m convinced this is real now.” I stated, slowly starting to panic.

“What made you believe it?” Jett asked.

“Well, in the dreams I usually have with a made up character I would usually have them be like me in a way so they are easy to get along with. However, if you don't know anime you are definitely not like me making you real and this not a dream,” I stated, suddenly realizing what I was saying.

“Well, anyways, I told you this was real,” Jett said sarcastically.

“Okay, okay, now before I start panicking why did you choose me?” I asked my voice shaking slightly.

“Well, there is no real reason, but something about you just spoke to me.” Jett stated “The reason we need you is because there is an evil trying to destroy Earth. We would normally push this off and say ‘oh well’, however, your relm needs to exist in order for mine and all the others to exist. There are six element, therefore six guardians, me being one of them. We are unable to defend Earth due to the incident-”

“What happened?” I cut Jett off.

“I was just about to explain that. Recently the shadow guardian, Ivy Necroman, turned against us for reasons unknown. She took our ability to teleport and a few others before the new shadow guardian, Lucie, attacked her and stopped Ivy from taking the powers necessary to stay the beings we are, since we don't have teleportation, and a few other things, we are unable to defend Earth. So, we decided to choose six humans, one each to control an element. We prayed to the true elements and they sent us down six necklaces that are made for humans. Once put on, they will carry the elemental power of that necklace into them. For example; you.” Jett explained as he held out a necklace.

The necklace was a chamber like necklace, only we couldn’t open it and change the orb inside. The chain was silver, as well as the chamber itself. The inner orb was green and seemed to be a real gem, probably a polished emerald, or maybe a malachite. I don’t know why, but I felt the gem calling out to me. Jett then snapped me out of the trance.

“This is the necklace containing the powers of the Earth element, and I have decided to give it to you. Crystal Nightmare, you are now the Warrior of Earth, I will train you on what to do and how to do it in the best way I can. Put this on and think about a flower sprouting from the ground, pick a flower, andy flower!” Jett stated, reaching his paw out to hand me the necklace.

I hesitated for a split second before throwing the necklace around my neck, one it landed I could feel a rush of unknown energy flow through me, I felt powerful. I stuck my hand out and thought hard about making a flower sprout from the dirt. Forest green illuminated my fingertips.

“What the heck!” I shouted out of fear.

“It’s fine Crystal, your hand will glow when you do stuff like that, especially levitation.” Jett stated.

“Say what now?” I replied, not knowing I could levitate things.

“Trust me, you can do just about anything. Your Elemental power only extends for the element of Earth, meaning you can control water like the Element of water can. However, you can control gemstones, stone, animals, etcetera. All of you are able to create portals into different dimensions, shape shift, levitate things, and form a sword.” Jett explained.

“That explains more.” I rolled my eyes.

“Okay, now try to sprout a flower again.” Jett ordered kindly.

I stuck my hand out again, seeing the green, I stopped for a second out of fear again. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath as I extended my arm. I didn’t open my eyes until I thought it had worked. I opened my eyes to see a stem sprouting from the dirt before me. It grew at least a foot in length when finally the blue rose sprouted out from it. Jett looked at me and smiled.

“Looks like you’ve got the controlling nature thing down, all you got to do to make it faster is move your hand upward.” Jett stated.

I did what he told and thought of the rose again, this time swinging my hand up swiftly, the rose took no time to pop out already fully formed and beautiful, I grinned. Jett looked at me and barked. I looked at him with a confused look.

“Portals, imagine going one place to another, then reach your hand out and a portal shall appear.” Jett stated.

I did as he told and I thought about going from my current spot near the tree, to the other side of the tree. I lifted my hand and a small beam of green light flew out and stopped three feet in front of me before falling to the floor.

“It’s okay, I didn’t get it the first time either. Just think a little harder.” Jett smiled.

I tried again, the same thing happened, the green spark flew in front of me. I saw a small green circle form, then close.

“Almost, you saw the green circle? That was the portal, just try a bit harder!” Jett cheered.

I pointed again and the small spark came again, flying in front of me and it worked! Finally, after two failed tries, a large gateway then appeared before me. The inside was swimming with green, two shades flowing around in a circle giving it a mystical vibe. The rim was a darker shade, but just a little bit. I looked at Jett and he gave me the look telling my to step through. I put one foot in and then the other, stepping through the magical gateway. I winced as my head went through and when I opened my eyes Jett was walking from around the same cherry tree. I grinned even wider.

“Basically to do anything you just think about doing it and ‘poof’ it happens. You can also summon up a sword.”

“How?” I questioned.

“Create the design of it in your head, then think about pulling it out of one of your body parts. That limb should glow, stick your hand in the illumination and pull out the sword. Think wisely though, this will be the one and only sword you may summon.” Jett explained.

I decided to try, thinking of the sword. I stood there for a few good minutes conjuring the sword in my head. Finally, I had it. I thought of the most beautiful sword, in my opinion, so I could look amazing any time I was fighting. Its handle was a golden yellow with a little pale green semicircle on the bottom tip of it, before the blade there were leaves that connected to a lovely red dahlia flower. The left side of the actual blade, otherwise known as the less complicated side, curved out and went straight up with no design. Then the right side, known as the complicated side, curved in, out, in, and out again then bent looking towards the handle then repeated the bending in, out, in, and out pattern. This made it look like two connecting circles had cut through part of the sword. After the two circles it stopped going towards the handle and made a point as the blade ran up again, not straight though. The blade made somewhat of a valley like shape, it arched slowly and ran upwards again. It stopped, making another point, then made a sharp turn connecting it to the other side.

I pictured the sword being pulled out of my left shoulder in a bright gleam of green. I saw a shimmer underneath my eyelids and barely peaked them open to see my left shoulder glowing. I panicked a bit, then stayed calm knowing what was going to happen wouldn’t hurt. After all it was a portal, not my physical self. I reached my hand right hand in and pulled out the exact sword I had envisioned. Smiling, I relaxed the sword on my right shoulder, Jett grinned. I suddenly flew my shoulder sting. Jett’s face quickly turned into a look of fear.

“Looks like I’m going to have to teach you something else.” He stated.

“What?” I looked at my shoulder, the blade was slightly lodge into it. Blood was spilling out.

I  just stood there for a minute as my vision dimmed. Jett walked up to me, snapping me out on my trance. He sat down.

“Okay, take the sword out of your arm.” Jett ordered.

I did as I was told, as I pulled the sword out I could feel the pain. It stuck, but I could handle it. I looked at and slightly screeched.

“Good, now, drop it and place both of your hands just above the wound.” Jett ordered. I followed, dropping the sword.

“Now, imagine it being closed. You should see where this is going.” Jett stated, I got it.

I looked at it and thought hard about the wound being healed. It actually began to heal. My hands were glowing again and I could see the edges of my skin glowing faintly as well. The corner, where the two sides of the cut met, began to slowly form together.

“Good, keep trying.” Jett stated, I again followed his directions.

The wound began to heal faster and faster, leaving behind a faint scar that wouldn’t be there for long giving the size of the cut. It was finally healed.

‘Okay, so that doesn’t happen again, how do I use a sword?” I asked.

“Stay here.” He stated as he ran into the forest behind us, he came out three minutes later.

“I gave these to the other Guardians too, just to save time, these are Sento Flowers. They basically give the person who consumes them instant combat skills, including sword fighting, now eat it.” Jett stated, I paused for a minute.

“Eat a flower?” I questioned.

“Yes, just do it.” Jett ordered harshly.

“Alright, alright, fine.” I stated, taking the flower and taking a bite out of the leaves.

It tasted bitter with a slight hint of spice. It was kind of good in my opinion. Jett looked at me, satisfactory spread across his face.

“Good, now pick up the sword.” He stated, I nodded.

I grabbed the handel and swung it up, placing it lightly on my shoulder. It didn’t cut through. Jett suddenly launched himself at me, I suddenly didn’t feel in control and just reacted how my body told me. I swung the sword in defense. He hit the side of the blade, but not the side that could injure him. Jett jumped into the sky swiftly and began to shoot himself down like a bullet. His claws were out and ready to kill. I leaped backwards and then up, seeing Jett crash into the ground below. I feel onto him and forced both of his paws onto the ground. I thought of an idea. Stone unearthed itself from the dirt below, wrapping around Jett. He looked startled. I got off of him and made the stone rise so we could be at eye level.

“What the hell was that!?” I screamed.

“I was testing if the flower worked, and it did.” Jett stated, his claws now looking limp “I took it easy on you, so don't think defeated a god or something.”

I laughed and understood, forcing the stone to let go of him. He feel to the ground, landing on all fours, then walked up to me.

“Okay, you should be ready.” Jett stated “You know combat, and not how to cut yourself every time you use the sword, you know how to use your power, your pretty much good to go!”

I thought for a minute, this was all going by really fast and I didn’t know if I was ready. Jett looked at me, puzzled for a minute, then seemed to get it as he reassuringly smiled wider. I looked up then thought about the future of who I would be. I finally decided I was ready, I knew what to do, I just had one question.

“How will I know if Earth is being attacked?” I asked.

“I don't know, but I’m sure it will be obvious, what I would do is put some birds on guard and have them find you if something is wrong.” Jett replied.

“I can do that?” I asked, confused if I could mind control them or communicate with them.

“Yeah, you can communicate with animals, just make a noise they can make. They’ll fly, walk, swim, etcetera up to you and should just speak english to you. Sort of how I am. When I was able to go into the human world people could only hear the bark and howls of a wolf from me, but you can understand me.” Jett answered.

“Then yeah, I guess I’m all ready!” I smiled and held a thumbs up, my shoulder glew and I put the weapon back.

“Okay then, just make a portal to your room and you may be on your way, teleport back to here if you need anything.” Jett stated “I’m not able to come to you, so if anything is wrong, or you feel like you can't do something, come to me and I’ll give you the best answer I can.”

I turned around and stuck my hand out, thinking about my room, the glow of light came out again and made a portal. I turned around one last time.

“This is actually real right?” I asked for the back of my mind saying this was still a dream.

“As real as your beating heart.” Jett stated, smiling one last time before I stepped off into the portal. I looked back at the gateway, then back at Jett. I ran up to him and hugged him.

“Thank you for giving me this opportunity.” I said kindly.

“No, thank you for willingly defending all of our worlds. You will be seen as a hero to all who meet you. Except for humans, they don't know and you can understand why they can’t know.” Jett thanked me in return as I got up and looked back at the passage into my world. I walked forward, taking one step into the world I knew, and one step out of the new world I have yet to figure out.

Chapter Two: Where Are They?

“Crystal! Wake up! We’re going to be late!” A male voice echoed in my head, I darted up to see my little brother, Gray, above me, shaking me vigorously. I looked beside me and saw my slightly older younger brother, Wolf, struggling to put on a shirt as he yelled profanities. I jumped up and felt something hit my chest. I looked down to see the necklace Jett had given me. I smiled and looked up, struggling to put on my casual outfit. I slid on my black skinny jeans, threw on my midnight purple shirt, black sweater, and school I.D., I then ran to the bathroom to brush my short black hair and purple bang, struggled with my black eyeliner, eyeshadow, and slightly purple lipgloss. I ran downstairs, fed my cat, Rin, and threw on my black socks and converse all while avoiding my brothers. My Mom and Dad, Willow and Blade, had left for work already so they weren’t there to nag at us.

This was a typical day in my home and it wouldn’t be the last of them. I rushed outside, backpack in one hand, phone in the other, and ran across my apartment complex to catch the bus. Gray and Wolf followed close behind as we heard the roaring of the bus’s engine.

“Come on guys! We can make it!” I screamed as Gray’s blue and green eyes shining with anticipation and Wolf’s blue eyes dull with worry. They rushed past, I darted after them and eventually made it just in time as the bus opened its doors.

“Nightmare family waking up late again I see,” Sally, our bus driver, stated sarcastically “well don’t just stand there, get in here!”

Gray, Wolf, and I all took our seats as people stared. I could see Wolf’s red hair in the front seat with his friends, chattering away. Then I saw Gray’s brown hair he dyed so long ago sitting next to some other people. Then there was me, I sat alone, nobody wanting to sit next to the ‘emo kid’. We were on our way to one of the best schools that we had always went to, Heartland, it’s not a middle school, nor elementary, it’s not even a high school. Nope, it was a mixture of the three. Heartland was separated into three buildings; Elementary, Junior High, and High School. All three schools road the same buses, mixing up the kids from grade twelve to kindergarten. Gray, the youngest in my family, went to the Elementary School, he was in sixth grade and was pretty excited to be a seventh grader. Wolf, the oldest of the youngest, was going to Middle School, he was an eighth grader. Then there was me, I was in my sophomore year of Highschool.

The bus drove up and stopped to pick up another kid, I always saw her walking around outside with her brother, but I never talked to her, and I never saw her brother on the bus. She was pale, her hair was a shining golden shade and her slightly dull eyes shone a bright ocean blue. The girl wore a green shirt with a light blue jean jacket over it and black leggings. She walked past, I tried to move over to give her room to walk, but I didn't make it in time, she still ended up touching me, sending a static shock through my body. She turned around, a shocked expression.

“Oh, sorry ma’am!” She spoke, I looked up to see her eyes wide.

I looked at her shirt, seeing something mildly glowing on it. I was confused at first before I found what was causing the illumination. It was a chambered necklace like my own, it seemed to irradiate a grey light from it. Inside I saw what looked to be a moonstone if I had to guess.

“Wind?” I asked awkwardly, assuming she was the Wind Warrior, linking the necklace color to the stereotypical color to the stereotypical color for wind. Her eyes widened.

“Earth?” She asked, I nodded and motioned for her to sit down, she did. The bus started to move again. We had about twenty minutes to figure each other out.

“Are you the Warrior of Earth?” She whispered bluntly.

“Yes, but next time someone asks you to sit down with them and they have a colored necklace like us make one hundred percent sure they are a warrior.” I whispered back.

“Oh, I knew, your necklace glew.” She said, I felt mildly embarrassed.

“Anyways, yes, I am the Warrior of Earth, and I’m assuming you’re the Warrior of Wind. I’m Crystal, Crystal Nightmare, nice to meet you?” I ended questioningly, implying for her to tell me her name.

“Snowdrop, Snowdrop Rubi, call me Snow for short.” She stated, smiling.

“Okay, so hi, do you know who the others are?” I asked Snow.

“No, but I do know they go to our school, the High School, and they should live close. Their guardian probably told them the same thing mine did.” Snow replied.

“What did yours tell you to do?” I asked.

“She told me to keep my necklace in the open so the others know who I am, such as you.” She said.

“I wasn’t told that.” I stated, Snow sighed.

“Well, people don't keep necklaces in their shirts anyways, plus it seems that they glow when they’re near each other.” Snow stated, I nodded.

“Okay, get off!” Sally shouted from the front of the bus.

“What lunch do you have? I have C lunch.” I stated.

“A.” She stated solemnly.

“Well, I’ll see you around I guess.” I stated as we got up and out of the bus.

“Here, I’ll write down my number for you, text me after school.” Snow stated as she opened her backpack and tore a piece of paper out of a notebook. She then wrote it down and handed it to me.

“Okay I’ll text you later!” I stated, Snow waved as she turned around.

Snow went the other way, probably cause her locker was the other way. I walked through to the door, up the stairs, and to my locker. Gathering my things for my first class I turned and heard the bell ring. I tried to start running, but I ended up tripping and falling head first into two people holding hands. They split apart and I fell onto the floor.

“Watch it!” A male voice stated.

“Oh my lord, are you alright?” Another male voice said.

I got up and saw two male figures. One was very gothic; he was paler than me, which I found to be difficult, and his hair was a sunset orange, his eyes were sharp and nearly white, but I could see the light blue. He wore an orange shirt, over it was a black trenchcoat going down halfway below his knees, then some black jeans and black converse.

The other was much different. He was tan with light blonde hair that was shaved short, except for a huge part on top that was dyed a hot pink. His eyes were a galaxy purple and he wore a lot of makeup, making him stand out as ‘The Fabulous Kid’. He wore a bright pink, short sleeved, shirt that had the image of a rainbow on it, white jeans, and pink converse.

“Sorry!” I stated, getting up.

The gothic one’s eyes widened. I stood there confused at his sudden shock. He then grabbed my arm and raced into the nearest corner. The other one followed, looking very confused.

“What the hell, Xayn?!” The one with pink hair yelled quietly.

The gothic one, who I assumed was Xayn, grabbed my necklace and started to examine it, he looked very curious, I yanked it out of his hands.

“Hey! Don’t touch that!” I screamed, but still trying not to draw attention to ourselves, he suddenly pulled out a necklace similar to mine, the same silver chamber as Snow and I’s, but instead of a moonstone or an emerald he appeared to have an onyx inside of his. The necklace irradiated a dark purple like shade and it seemed to react to my own necklace.

“Class is about to start, do you have C lunch?” Xayn asked.

“Yeah? Why?” I asked back.

“Meet my and Lyric in the corner, we need to talk to you.” Xayn stated as he walked off, the other boy followed and I got very confused before realising he had a necklace too, maybe he wanted to speak to me about the whole warriors thing. I had my doubts, but I decided to go meet them anyways the other kid seemed like he’d make a good friend.

I went to my first few classes, learning boring things I would never need to know in life. Going from first hour to second, then second to third, all the way up until fifth hour after my class. I walked to lunch were I was expected to meet Xayn and the other one. When I walked in I looked into the corners and I saw them, along with another girl. I began to walk over to them.

The girl turned to look at me. She was pale and had light brown hair, parted to the left, that went down to her waist. She had soft hot pink eyes that seemed to sparkle as I got closer. She wore a sky blue sweater that went off her shoulders, black leggings, and a pair of the same blue converse.

“Good, you came. Now, I am Xayn Malachi, this is Lyric Artemis, and this is Synne Inara. Tell us your name.” Xayn stated, he pointed to the pink haired one being Lyric and the one in blue being Synne.

“Uh, Crystal, Crystal Nightmare.” I stated, very confused on why he was so demanding and why he wanted to meet here.

Xayn pulled the necklace he had shown me before out of his shirt again. Lyric proceeded to pull a necklace out if his pocket. He pulled out a silver chambered necklace with what appeared to be a howlite. Synne then pulled a necklace out of her shirt as well and showed it. Her necklace was, again, a chambered one with what looked to be an aquamarine, it glowed a beautiful mix of sky and ocean blue. I looked down at my shirt to see my own pendant glowing as well.

“Are you the Warrior of Earth?” Xayn asked.

“Yeah, and you guys are?” I stated, knowing I could trust them. They obviously were part of the warriors, gems don’t really glow on their own as far as I know.

“Well, for starts, I am the Darkness. Lyric is Light, then Synne is water.” Xayn stated “Do you know where any of the others are?”

“Yes, actually. Snowdrop Rubi, she’s the Warrior of Wind.” I stated, Xayn looked pleased.

“Okay, is she here?” Lyric finally spoke up.

“No, she has A lunch, she rides my bus though.” I replied.

“Good, do you all have phones?” Lyric asked, we all nodded.

“Okay, I’ll write my number down. You guys give each other yours and I’ll give you all mine. Crystal, if Snow has a phone then tell her to give her your number. I’ll make a chat then we can somehow find the last warrior.” Lyric stated.

“Wait, I think I saw her. She has third hour with me. Klynne Blair I think her name was…” Synne spoke up in a high pitched voice.

“Okay, do you know where she is going to be?” Xayn asked.

“Yeah, I’ve seen her walking home, I tried to say hi to her one time and she said hi then ran away.” Synne stated.

“Well, how’d you say hi?” Xayn spoke up and asked “Cause how you introduced yourself to me was terrifying.”

“I did how I always do, how else would I do it?” Synne questioned.

“That explains more, where do you live?” Xayn asked.

“Sunset Lane.” Synne stated.

“Okay, I live about thirty minutes away, no way in hell I can walk there with you and back home, same with you Lyric. Crystal, do you live near her?” Xayn stated.

“Yeah, actually, I live in the apartment complex just down the road from Sunset.” I stated.

“Good, walk home with her and find Klynne.” Xayn ordered.

“I’ll have to tell my Dad, but okay.” I smiled as I pulled out my phone. Suddenly, the lunch lady told us that we were dismissed and to head to our sixth hour.

“Okay, Crystal, you walk with Synne and make sure she doesn’t scare Klynne away, I have to go to my next class. Give Lyric your numbers and he’ll make a group chat. See ya.” Xayn stated as he walked off.

“Bye babe!” Lyric shouted.

“I told you no to call me that!” Xayn turned and yelled.

“Sorry! It slipped!” Lyric winked, Xayn sighed and turned to walk away.

“Babe?” I asked.

“Yeah, he hates it when I call him that, I still do it though just to irritate him.” Lyric laughed.

“You two are dating?” I asked again.

“Yeah, four years, anyways give me your numbers.” Lyric stated, face slightly red. Synne and I both wrote our numbers and gave it to him.

“Okay, see you guys in the chat!” Lyric smiled as he ran out of the cafeteria.

“Okay, well he’s going to make the chat, we might as well just go. I’ll meet you outside of the school. Bye!” Synne said as she ran off and out of the cafeteria.

I walked the other way in order to avoid awkwardness. I went to my locker to grab a few things then I headed towards my sixth hour. Afterwards, I went straight to seventh hour and couldn't wait to leave.

One hour later I ran to my locker and threw on my backpack, having no homework, as usual, I could go home and do whatever I wanted. I ran downstairs and left out the walker doors. I saw Synne waiting there.

“Hey Crystal!” She screamed, three people looked over at us.

“Okay okay, hi, did you see Klynne?” I asked.

“Well now I do, she’s right there.” Synne said, pointing behind me.

I looked where she was pointing and I saw a pale girl with long brown hair, parted in the middle, going down to her waist and orange eyes. She wore a thin red shirt with a hood on the back of it, light blue jeans, and black converse. The one thing I noticed however was the chambered necklace that was visible hanging from her neck. It was silver and appeared to have some red gem inside of it, sunstone probably. She was listening to music through a pair of red headphones. She looked up and stopped when she saw us looking at her. She stood there for a minute or two before taking the headphones out.

“Can I help you?” She asked.

“Are you Klynne?” I asked.

“No.” She stated.

“What's your name then?” I asked

“Cupid, Cupid Blitz, I’ve got to go I’ll see you around I guess.” She said nervously as she tried to walk away, I pulled up my pendant, Cupid stopped in her tracks.

“Follow me.” She demanded, we obeyed.

Cupid lead Synne and I behind a tall pillar in a corner of the school. She lifted up her necklace and I could see it clearly glowing an ember red. I lifted mine up and Synne did the same. All three of them were glowing.

“Okay, now, you guys are two of the Warriors, I now know that. Who are you and what are your elements?” Cupid demanded the knowledge.

“Okay, I’m Crystal Nightmare, my element is Earth. This is Synne Inara and her element is Water. We already know the others. Give us your phone number and we can give it to the others. They are making a group chat so we’ll add you.” I stated.

“Okay,” Cupid stated.

Cupid lifted her hand and right above her hand a cloud of smoke appeared. Once it vanished a piece of paper floated down onto her hand. She grabbed it and gave it to me. I assumed it was her phone number and I assumed right.

“Okay, I have to get home, text me once you get there. Better yet, make a portal there, it’s much easier.” Cupid stated, Synne and I nodded.

Cupid then shot a portal of ember and flames onto the wall of the building and stepped through. As she did the portal vanished and Synne and I were left alone. We stood there for a minute.

“Okay, well, I’m going to do that.” Synne stated as she shot her own portal of blue onto the same spot Cupid made hers, I was alone now.

I told myself I might as well and I looked around before shooting my own portal into the wall. The forest green portal appeared and I stepped though, unaware of the horrendous mistake I had just made.

Chapter Three: Group Chatting.

I stepped out and entered behind my house. I went inside, knowing I wouldn’t seem suspicious to my parents, I get home before them. I walked inside and stumbled up to my room, waiting for the message from Lyric to chime on my phone. The dark purple walls darkened the room as the light shown through the black curtains. I feel flat onto my bed and almost rolled off the side. I decided to text Cupid. I jotted in the number and began to type.

“Hey, this is Crystal Nightmare, this is Cupid right?” I sent, it was delivered. Three bouncing dots then appeared on the other side of the screen, indicating someone was typing.

“Hey, yeah this is Cupid, have they made the chat yet?” Cupid sent.

“No, but they should text soon.” I replied.

“Okay, well I’m doing homework right now, I’ll talk to you in a minute.” Cupid sent.

“M’Kay, I’ll text you once they send the message.” I sent back.

“Okay, bye.” Cupid wrote.

“Bye.” I replied, shutting my phone off.

I laid there, curious of what I should do. I was home alone and would be for an hour before Wolf got home, my Mom and Dad usually pick him up at school so they come home with him, then I have another hour before my mom goes to pick up Gray. I sat there wondering.

“I might as well send those birds out to patrol.” I stated to myself.

I got up from the bed and went to my window, pulling the curtains aside. I squinted, being use to the darkness. Once my vision adjusted I opened the window and sent a whistle out, the only way I really knew how to call birds. A small cardinal flew onto the windowsill.

“Can you hear me?” I asked the small bird, I stumbled back seeing the bird nod slightly.

“Yes, I can understand you.” It tweeted.

“Nice, what is your name?” I asked the bird.

“Ava.” The tiny bird sang.

“Okay, Ava, I need you to do me a big favor. I am the Warrior of Earth and I need you to alert me of when the Earth is being attacked. Spread this to the other birds all around the world. Can you do that for me Ava?” I asked her, she nodded.

“I’ll see what I can do!” She chirped.

“Thank you, now go spread the message.” I smiled kindly, Ava chirped one last time before she flew away.

I closed the door and laid down again, contemplating what to do next. I still had a good fifty minutes. I laid there and wondered, somehow I started think about the power Jett told me about.

“Maybe.” I said allowed as an idea rung in my head.

My thought was that I could possible experiment with my power. I didn’t know though. I really wanted to, but if someone were to find out my power existed it would have horrendous consequences. I thought about it. My phone suddenly buzzed.I picked it up to see a message from an unknown person.

“Hey! It’s Lyric!” It read, I smiled.

“Hey, yeah, we got the fire girls number. Also, her name was Cupid Blitz, not Klynne Blair.” I typed.

“Okay, well the others should be here any minute now. Wanna see my sword?! It’s freaking awesome!” Lyric sent.

“Sure.” I replied.

Lyric then sent an image of a dazzling sword. I could see it irradiating light, which made sense saying he was the element of Light. It was all white. The handel was very stereotypical, just a blank handle. On the end there was a ring that was attached semi-circle looking thing. In the middle of the sword there were two wings that spread out, they were there to stop his hands from sliding onto the blade and him cutting himself. In the middle of the wings there was a gemstone in the middle. It was black and looked to dazzle against the light illuminating from the sword, it looked to be a black diamond, I didn’t know though. The blade was pretty normal. It went up straight and bent inward at a tip.

“It looks awesome!” I typed, cause I did think it was pretty cool.

“Hi! I’m here, nice sword!” Another person suddenly typed.

“Thanks, and you are?” Lyric asked.

“Synne! Dummy! The other person that was typing is Crystal right?” The person typed.

“Yeah. this is me.” I typed.

“Okay, what is Cupid’s number?” Lyric asked, I proceeded to send him the number.

“Sent, she should get this message.” Lyric stated.

“Who are you?” I saw Cupid’s name type.

“Cupid, hey, the guys that just sent the text is Lyric, Warrior of Light.” I typed.

“Oh, hey Crystal. So, Lyric huh?” Cupid asked.

“That’s me.” Lyric stated.

“Hey guys, I’m here now, this is Xayn.” A new number wrote, I started to write down the numbers and their owners.

“Okay, we just need Wind to get on here!” Synne wrote, I suddenly felt as if I wanted to bash my face into the ground.

“I have her number, I forgot to text her though.”  I stated.

“Okay, what is it?” Lyric asked, I gave him the number.

“Okay, she’s apart of the group now.” Lyric stated “She should get the messages.”

“Who is this?” A new number, who I assumed was Snow asked.

“Okay, write this down, everyone text your names and element. I’m Crystal from the bus.” I sent.

“Lyric Artemis, Light.” Lyric wrote.

“Xayn Malachi, Darkness.” Xayn followed up.

“Synne Inara, Water!” Synne seemed to shout over the phone.

“Cupid Blitz, Fire.” Cupid ended.

“Okay, got it, I’m Snowdrop Rubi, and I’m Wind, obviously.” Snow typed.

“Well, I’ve got to go, the five of you practice on you abilities, you never know when Ivy could possibly attack. I sent some showlings to watch the streets everywhere so we’ll know if she is attacking.” Xayn sent.

“Neat, I talked to a bird and told it to spread the word that if they are to see Ivy or another being attacking they are to find me.” I sent.

“Nice, okay, I’ve got to go now. See you guys.” Xayn sent, we all proceeded  to say our goodbye.

I sat my phone back down and pondered if I should practice now or not. Suddenly I heard my front door open. Wolf was home.

“Damn it.” I said to myself.

“Hey, sis, you home?!” I heard Wolf’s voice, confirming my suspicion.

“Nope!” I screamed sarcastically.

“Okay, I’ll be out back.” He replied.

“Okay you do that.” I stated.

I decided to probably train myself tomorrow. I heard the back door open, then close. The front door opened and I heard my parents walk it.

“Crystal!” I heard my Dad scream my name.

“What!?” I yelled back.

“Get down here, your brother needs help with his homework!” He shouted, me being the oldest, and smartest, sibling in the house I was required to help them. I got paid for it though, which was fine by me.

“Fine, he’s outside so you might wanna tell him to come back inside!” I shouted, getting up and walking to my door.

“Okay! I’ll get him!” My Dad yelled as I heard the backdoor open and close again.

I took my phone and put it in my back pocket of my jeans. I then walked downstairs to see my Mom in the kitchen. She was opening a bag of chicken. Her bright red hair was tied in a ponytail and her blue eyes looked worn out from working all day. Her work uniform, a red shirt, black jeans, and red shoes, were covered in her own sweat. It was early fall and it still seemed like summer weather. Even worse, building’s air condition had broken. I felt bad for her.

“You need help?” I asked her, walking down the stairs.

“No, go help your brother; thanks for the offer though.” My mom said kindly, holding back her irritation in herself.

“Okay, call me if you need anything.” I stated as I walked over to the table in the other room.

I heard the backdoor open as Wolf and my Dad walked inside. Wolf sat down at the table and slumped in his seat. He looked annoyed, he always hated homework. His blue eyes dull with boredom. His ember red hair dripping with sweat, his last class was gym, not to mention it was like a desert outside.

“Could you just do it for me?” He asked.

“No, you have to do it yourself, my handwriting is different from yours, your teacher will tell easily that someone else did it.” I stated, Wolf had horrible handwriting, especially for his age, it was like literal scratches on a sheet of paper, while mine was curvy and neat.

“Fine!” Wolf grudgingly groaned.

I pointed to the first question to help him. Question after question he complained and complained. Finally we finished and I was relieved. I stumbled upstairs and shut the door. I plopped onto my bed and closed my eyes. I looked on my phone and pulled up a video on YouTube by my favorite Youtuber ever. It was a video of him ‘Waffle Ironing’ a Barbie Doll. I heard his intro tune in, I plugged my phone into a charger and propped my phone up against the light on my nightstand. I flicked the light off and watched the as the video progressed. I felt my eyelids getting heavier as I curled up with one of my favorite stuffed animals and drifted off into sleep.
