Every student pictures himself or herself presenting something that is informative, inspiring and motivating. But how many actually do it? Only a handful! Why do so many students have a problem with PowerPoint?

Today, we are going to answer this question by discussing the common problems of computer presentations. Let’s get started!

1.Failing to prepare

Delivering a great PowerPoint presentation is a skill that can be improved practice and adequate preparation. Preparing adequately helps you manage your fears and other problems that might arise during your presentation.

2.Forgetting your audience

You might get so focused on delivering a powerful presentation that you forget the needs of your audience. Your presentation should always be focused on your audience.

They are the reason you are presenting in the first place. Your audience should know what to expect and whether you’ll be taking questions later. Sharing with them your plans will them concentrate during your presentation.

3.Failing to use appropriate content

The purpose of any presentation is sharing information with other people. Your content should match with your audience’s expectations. Also, it should match with your topic. Using complex words and inappropriate images will make your presentation horrible. You should always put yourself in the shoes of your audience.

4.Using too much words

Using brief and concise sentences in your presentation makes it much more powerful than using lots of words. It’s important to limit the number of points or sentences you are planning to use. Taking too long to get to the point will make it harder for your audience to concentrate.

Adults have a short attention span which lasts for approximately fifteen minutes. If you want your audience to listen and be engaged during your presentation, it’s important to always stick to the point. Communication is not about the quantity of words but the quality.

5.Poor images

Poor quality images will destroy your presentation. It’s important to take your time to choose the right images for your presentation. Use simple and concise images that complement your topic.

Low quality images will make you look unprofessional. Everything in your presentation should be done in moderation.

During the presentation, relax. Your audience will feel it if you are nervous or afraid and this could be a deal breaker.
