Introduction

The following is a historical transcript provided by BBC-Infinity, containing the last words of Her Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, the Eternal, from her containment room onboard the interstellar-dreadnaught, Alfred the Great, as it orbited the star New Avalon dated  March 24th 2050 (Greenwich standard Dating): Pax Regina.

Our beloved Britons, today is Our last day as your queen. Our rule has come to an end after four hundred and ninety-two years.  We have seen much in that time, The Spanish Armada, the American Secessionist movement of 1776, the Martian invasions of 1898, 1938 and 1953.  The Bolshevik revolution 1917 and the Tau Ceti crisis of 2039. As I think back to the five centuries of our life,  Our heart goes out to our beloved people.

We must admit that we have not been completely honest with you about the nature of our longevity. Many have over the past decades, if not centuries, have suspected that Our unusual tenure is not as We has been claimed by Us evidence of Our divine right to rule, but has a more scientific explanation. It is in reality the result of Our contact with a meteorite composed of what Dr. Dee referred to as strange radiations. Similar but of more power than the one that fell on Wold-Newton in 1795.

It is this meteorite, not the glory of God, which changed my body at a molecular level. Making me more plasma than human. For those of The Church of Elizabeth who feel that We have deceived you, We apologize. And We beseech you, think Us not as the beguiler, for the Lord thy God works in mysterious ways. Could not the stone form heaven that changed Our body have been carved by his hand?

More energy than matter, We have been consigned to live on the desolate World of New Windsor for the past three decades, alone but Ourselves, But since my transfiguration We have not been able to touch another human, lest they be reduced to glowing embers. So for most of Our life We have lived without human touch, nor have We ever taken a husband.

Though We leave matters of succession to The Galactic Parliament, and bid adieu to this cosmos, weep not for Us. We are about to be launched in to heart of the dying sun of New Avalon, the reaction will reignite it at its core, so it shall glow brightly in the heavens till the end of time. Know this We have always loved you Planet Britton, We shall soon be one with the God of the Firmament, to shine like the new Star of Bethlehem. Pax Regina.
