1.Do your research

The quality of your research paper will depend on your research. This means that you should find a comfortable and quiet place to do your research. Additionally, you should use reliable and credible sources.

According to AResearchGuide, these sources can be easily found in your school library. Use books, articles, journals and the internet as much as you can. If you are having a hard time doing your research, you can ask the librarian or your professor how to write a research paper.

2.Choose your research topic

If your professor has given you an opportunity to choose your research topic, it would be best if you chose a topic that is researchable and most importantly, one that you you’ll enjoy researching on. Choosing a topic that is not interesting will make it harder for you to complete the paper. You should also avoid choosing topics that are too broad or general as it will overwhelm you while researching.

3.Take notes

When doing your research, you should have a notebook and a pen beside you every single time. You should write down every important fact or concept that is connected to your topic. Be organized while taking notes to avoid missing important points. Taking notes will make it easier for you to remember and refer while writing your research paper format.

4.Create an outline

After doing your research, it’s crucial for you to create an outline. An outline acts as a map or a guide. It helps you understand and cover the most important points in your paper. Creating an outline is easy. All you have to do is grab a piece of paper and write your topic at the center of the paper. Next, draw three to four lines from the topic and write down other important points that are connected to the topic.

5.Complete your first draft

After creating an outline, you need to cover all the points on your outline. Every point will be covered separately. These points will make up the body section of your paper. Once your through with the body, write your introduction. It should be captivating and engaging.

Next, write your conclusion where you sum up all the important points. After completing your first draft, review and correct it where necessary. You should never submit the first writing paper draft.
