Making a wish into wishes

As Sarah walked through the woods, she found a wishing stone. A sign was written on the on the rock, it said 'ONE WISH ONLY'.

Sarah was astonished and flattered. She was ready for this.

She held the stone with great strength in her palm that it started to throb. She spoke aloud, “I wish for infinite wishes”.

A gentle breeze flew through the woods and the stone vanished into a void. Sarah felt refreshed and lucky. Was it real or was it a fluke?

She simply wished, “I wish for red sports car with a chauffeur to drive me home”.

In a span of seconds, glitter rained from the sky and formed a magnificent vehicle. Out came a French driver and opened the door for Sarah. As she entered the car, there awaited jars full of colourful lollies and sweet goods. She couldn’t wait to go home.

No way was she going to tell anyone! They will turn green with envy. This shall be HER little secret.

Spoilt Sarah

Days past and Sarah was living it up. Buying expensive things we would never dream of buying with her wish money.

Sarah was changing, her mother, father and friends could see it in her. She didn’t bother, she would wish on without thinking.

She gets a call from her best friend, Sofia telling her where she was.

“I was busy today, can I call you back? K, bye. Mwah” and the call was over just like that.

Be careful what you wish for

The next day passed and Sarah did some more shopping. She bought dresses, shoes and even jewellery.

Sofia called again “You need to come to school tomorrow. What is up with so many unexplained absences?”.

“I’ve been preoccupied. I will see you at school tomorrow”.

As Sarah arrived at school the next day, Sofia ran up to her and shared the news about a maths test. Sarah was fustrated and agitated and immediately moaned “Ugh! I wish I was dead”.
