Léi Shēng: (circa 165 C.E.) the Elder God of Wind, formally known as the High King of the Gods. [Lay Shung]

Lindele: (57 B.C.E.) the Elder Goddess of Earth. [Lynn-dell]

Měilìde: (69 B.C.E.) the Elder Goddess of Water; a contemporary of Queen Cleopatra VII. [Mih-lead-uh]

Ní: (162 C.E.) the Elder God of Fire. [Nee]

Other Deities

Aĺakána: (1193) a goddess of unknown power who has become an anchoress. Said to have her hermitage in the outskirts of Wài. Lord Léi Shēng intended to betroth Amihan to Aĺakána when Amihan was fourteen. [Ahl-ah-kah-nuh]

Andhērā: (177 C.E.) the Goddess of Darkness. A long time consort to Lord Léi Shēng and mother of Beniru. [Ahnd-hay-ra]

Amihan: (1208) the God of Thunder. Only child of Lord Léi Shēng and his first wife, High Queen Sundara. [Ah-me-hahn]

Beniru: (1211) a minor wind god. Only child of Lord Léi Shēng and his consort, the Duchess Andhērā. [Ben-ih-roo]

(Dawn): (1209-1225) the Goddess of Dawn and the Sunrise; died during the birth of her third child. Only child of Lady Lindele.

Kejahatan: (1228) a goddess of uncertain power. Only child of Prince Beniru and Princess Masama. [Kay-ja-ha-tah]

Kimmeru: (720 C.E.) Masama’s mother, who put forth a great dowry for her daughter to marry the son of an Elder God. [Kim-er-oo]

Masama: (1215) a goddess of unknown power. Prince Beniru’s betrothed.

Miruan: (677 C.E.) Queen of Śēśa. [Mere-oo-ahn]

Sundara: (228 C.E.) a goddess of unknown power, whose whereabouts are currently unknown to all save perhaps Prince Amihan. Betrothed to Lord Léi Shēng when she was thirteen, High Queen Sundara took the title of Dowager Queen when Léi Shēng put her aside in late 1209. [Soon-dar-uh]

Chárí ţis Vronţís: (February 1227) firstborn daughter of Prince Amihan, a demigoddess of uncertain power. [Har-ee tees Vuh-rohn-tees]

Galíní ţis Vronţís: (February 1227) Chárí’s twin sister, also a demigoddess of uncertain power. [Ga-lee-nee tees Vuh-rohn-tees]

Andreas Óneira: (1191) owner of an olive orchard in Thessalonica, Greece. Krystállina’s father. [On-dray-us Oh-nee-ruh]

Andrew Edward Bestwick: His Grace, the Duke of Hartford. Amihan’s guise while visiting the court of the Holy Roman Emperor.

(Andromeda Óneira): (1185-1212) Andreas’s late wife, possibly the daughter of a wealthy merchant. Krystállina’s mother. [Ahn-droh-may-duh Oh-nee-ruh]

Caroline Marian Bestwick: Andrew’s eldest daughter, the Marchioness of Queensbury. Princess Chárí’s name when she is among mortals.

Catherine Christina Bestwick: Her Grace, the Duchess of Hartford. Lord Hartford’s “exotic” wife from an unknown part of Greece. Krystállina’s guise while visiting the court of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Mére Charmaine: Prioress of Les Soeurs de la Parole Éternelle.

*Conrad: (April 25, 1228-May 21, 1254) Second son of Frederick II and only son of Isabella II.

Cries Rain: (1225) a medicine woman of the Monacan, Old Mother’s apprentice. Cries Rain works together with Keimeme to keep Amihan’s memory and worship alive.[1]

*Frederick II: (December 26, 1194-December 13, 1250) Holy Roman Emperor while Prince Amihan and Princess Krystállina were in both Milan and Vienna.

Gabrielle: Galíní’s French name.

Gayle: (1160) Queen of a band of Travellers passing through Lombardy.

Giorgio Cardinal Mindanelli: (1990) an envoy of Pope Honorius III that is talented in seeking out sorcerers and other practitioners of magick. [George-e-oh M’in-dah-nelly]

Grace Catherine Bestwick: Lady Caroline’s twin, also known as Lady Hartford. Princess Galíní’s name when she is among mortals.

*Henry III: (October 1, 1207-November 16, 1272) King of England from 1216-1272. The monarch supposed to have given Andrew Bestwick the duchy of Hartford and the marquisate of Queensbury.

*Honorius III: (1148-March 18, 1227) Pope who declares a census of all Christians shortly after Prince Amihan and Krystállina arrive in Milan.[2]

*Isabella II: (1212-April 25, 1228) Queen of Jerusalem, who married Frederick II in 1225 and became Holy Roman Empress and Queen Consort of Sicily.

Keimeme: (1195) Prince Amihan’s best friend when he lived among the Monacan. [Kay-may-may]

Krystállina Óneira: (1208) Prince Amihan’s Aŋpāŋa. [Kris-tal-na Oh-nee-rah]

Madeleine: Chárí’s French name.

*Margareta: (November 1226-August 1227) Isabella and Frederick’s first born child.

Midonyari: (1200) Princess of Băihélù. [My-don-y’are-ee]

Milos: (1210) Titus’s son, whom Krystállina briefly considered marrying. [Me-lows]

Soeur Natalie: Krystállina’s French name.

Peter: (1204) Cardinal Mindanelli’s chief assistant.

Telfer: (1180) a servant in the Palace of the Dark Moon; one of Lord Léi Shēng’s spies.

Titus: (1190) a wealthy Italian merchant and the father of Krystállina’s former intended. Krystállina tricks Titus into helping her and Amihan escape Greece.

Wintau: (1196) the highest of all Léi Shēng’s High Priests; the administrator of The Temple of the Winds in Navarre.

*Yolanda de Courtenay: (1200-1233) Queen of Hungary and best friend of Empress Isabella.
