Chapter 1-Moving

It was a cool windy afternoon, I was in the backseat of my moms red minivan. The window was down and the cool air of October was blowing on my face. Mom had her favorite song on and was lip syncing the words while my older brother, Chris, was looking outside eating a Butterfinger. I was alone in the backseat, if my cousin came with us, I would have someone to talk to. For now, I had a pile of pillows and blankets, covered with bags of snacks for us to eat. We were driving to New York City, we bought a new house there already and it was huge. I already decided where my room would be online. My brother would be in the room next to me, so I'll definitely hear him snore or play Call of Duty at 12 in the morning. Moms room was downstairs, next to the kitchen. I was actually relived we were moving away from Georgia. I had a best friend named Millie, she was sweet and nice but then I caught her talking about me behind my back. Mostly because of school rumors. I was in middle school but there is definitely still drama,"How you doing back there,Cassie?" Mom asked as she turned the music volume down. "Pretty good..." I answered looking into the rearview mirror. Chris looked back and handed me his Butterfinger wrapper, " Take this, Cass." He said, " It will make you feel better" the inside had smears of chocolate. It also looked wet and shiny which meant he licked the inside. I frowned and threw the wrapper into the pile of snacks. He laughed and mom rolled her eyes. " Mom? Can we maybe stop by the gas station?" I asked, pulling my blankets onto my body. "We're on,y 30 minutes away. You can wait, right?" She asked, keeping her eyes on the road. Last night, she almost got into a car crash because she almost fell asleep. Now, mom stops by Starbucks to get 2 coffees and one hot coca. One coffe for her one for Chris and the coca is for me. I nodded "Okay, fine" I laid back and looked up at the afternoon sky. It was 6:30 now and we would arrive at New York at 7:00.

I decided to take a nap, so I got comfy and got ready to dream about the new house, new school, new room, and new friends.

Chapter 2-Home Sweet Home

I woke up to the sound of a loud beep. I yawned and felt more comfortable than I was in the car. I noticed there were boxes stacked on top of boxes that said "Cassie's Clothes" and "Cassie's Toys" written in Sharpie. I sat up, expecting to see mom or Chris, but all I saw were boxes and my wooden drawer in the corner of the room. We must have got here when I was sleeping I thought. I stood up and stretched, then the door creaked and mom came through, holding tons of boxes. "Oh! Cassie, your awake you startled me" she exclaimed, putting down the boxes onto my drawer. "Yeah, I didn't expect us to get here before I woke up." I said," I love my room so far!" Mom smiled and put her hands on her hips,"I'm glad you do," she sighed, "This used to be my room." I stood there, confused. Her room? Has she lived here before? I thought, imagining her cute furniture in her room. "Did I tell you? I bought this house because my great-grandmother used to live here." She explained "Then, grandma lived here with me. This was my room, Chris's room used to be my toy room." I smiled, I was happy that I was living in grandmas house. It's so big!

"Where's Chris?" I asked, looking towards the door. "Downstairs." She answered" He didn't bother to help unload." I frowned, Chris never helps with anything. He's pretty useless. I skipped downstairs, the living room was bright and sunny for 7:30. Moving men moved in and out and moved in furniture. Chris was outside on the porch, eating his second Butterfinger. "Hey, Chris" I said, walking through the door and onto the porch. He glance at me," Oh hey, Cass" he answered back, " Aren't you supposed to be sleeping?" I raised one eyebrow, " Why would I have to sleep at 7:30?" I asked. He ate a chunk of his Butterfinger. "You have school don't you?" My eyes widened. I had forgotten all about my new school, Honey Middle School.I smiled at Chris, thankful that he reminded me and ran back upstairs. I guess he can be useful sometimes. Mom had been sitting on my bed, folding my clothes and moving them to the side. "Mom! I have to go to bed now!" I exclaimed, "School is tomorrow!" She looked at me, she still had a half-folded pink shirt on her lap. "Cassie, tomorrow is Saturday." She said calmly. I sighed, and giggled at myself. Mom giggled ,too.

I sat next to her and leaned on her, she put her hand on my cheek and kissed my head. I helped her fold the clothes and put them into the drawer. It was kind of fun helping her, maybe cause they were mine and not Chris's dirty gym socks. The rest of the day, I helped mom fold and unpack my stuff. After that it was 9:00 and it was past my bedtime. I kissed mom on the cheek and hugged her and said goodnight. She did the same. Man,today was a really long day,I thought, at the end it was kinda chessy, too.Haha.
