Lovers Never Lose

1. Lost souls

I sat in my bed in tears. My best friend Kenna was leaving. She was moving, to be exact. My eyes were glistening with tears and the whole world around me went blurry.

Stuffing my pillow into my hand, I thought of the secret I had, that I could have told her..

I liked her. She’s the brightest girl in the world. The only problem is that i’m a girl too...

I wasn’t sure if she was accepting in LGBT.

It probably didn’t even matter, I know that I probably knew the answer i’d get anyway.

“Ew, get away from me!”

She’s never told me openly and widely she hated it, but she’s never been one to like girls or talk about it.

I have her phone number, I guess I could call her and tell her, but i’d like to do that in person. I hoped I would find a way, but it seemed impossible. A wet tear dropped on my pillow, leaving a dark, yet small wet circle. I rubbed my teared up eyes, and got up.

“Screw this, i’m talking to her.”

I got up, and walked to her house. There was a moving truck as I suspected. I inspected it clearly, and walked to the white front door.

I knocked, hoping for an answer.

Kenna opened the door wide.

“Hey.” I said.

“Hey.” She replied.

“So, your moving.”

“Yeah.” She said awkwardly.

We hugged each other.

“I’m going to miss you so much!” Tears we’re now streaming down her face.

“Me too, but we can still text and call each other, right?” I said trying to lighten the mood.

“Yeah, I guess.” Kenna said, wiping her tears.

“Kenna! We’re leaving!” Her dad called from inside.

“I guess this is goodbye.” She said sadly.

“ sadly, yes.”

We hugged tightly once more, and I watched her walk to the car.
