Brad has lived his entire life in Victus, a place where labor and loyalty are rewarded and where even a slight wandering of the mind could result in severe punishment.  Citizens are required to work in order to keep their worth of living, and the more labor you give to Victus, the more from Victus you get in return.  The rulers of Victus are obscure, and their ways of ruling are unstable, but no one questions them after they learn what the consequences of doing it are.  Everyday is the same - wake up, work, return to sleep.  That's the way it's been for almost eighty years.  But Brad is different from the rest.  He observes, but he doesn't say anything.  Over the years, Brad has found that Victus isn't as it seems, and he wants to know what is really happening there other than the endless labor that he experiences every day.  What he doesn't know is how and why Victus is so powerful and what secrets it is hiding, but he is determined to find out in order to free the people of Victus from their chains.
