Introduction

"Are you alright?" Genesis bent down beside the girl. "Should I go get someone?" she asked gently. 

The girl shook her head. She sat with her knees drawn up to her chin, her face buried among dark brown braids. Her cocoa brown skin was glistening with sweat, and her breath came in short gasps. Genesis placed her hand on the girl's shoulder. 

"I'm going to go get an adult. You-" she was interrupted by the girl. 

"Don't get anyone! I'm fine!" she said angrily, her head held high, dark brown eyes glowing with fire. Genesis stepped back. 

"Are you sure?" she asked timidly. The girl nodded defiantly, then stood up and marched off out of the studio. A smear of blood was on the side of her shirt.
