Character Development

One of my favourite things about writing is character planning. I've been known to do anything from creating Polyvore outfits and playlists to writing social media posts as my character. While this quite often get me funny looks from non-writers, I'd swear by it as a tool for character development. What about you guys?
What are your character development techniques?
How have these helped your characters?

I do all those things too! I've made so many outfits in Polyvore, I just made an extremely long road trip playlist! And I usually find an actor/actress to play my character and then create a simple background with their photo and put simple things like Age, hobbies/occupations and pet peeves! I think it helps give your character more of a personality!!

So like identity cards? That's really cool! What celebrities have you used? I'm always curious as to who people liken their characters to

I've used so many! I've used people like Avan Jogia, Luke Benward, Camila Belle, Cody Christian and like so many more those are the only ones I can think of right now! But they're really fun to do!!
