The Wooden Doll

 1.3.1934

Today is the day of the towns market. Well, it is more of a festival than a market. My mother and my older brother, Jessie are taking me there as a birthday present as my birthday was yesterday. I turned 11 and I am going into high school next week.

At the market I bought a wooden doll that the shop owner said that it was made from the wood from the Abbeystone Forest, he said that an old man had gone into the forest in search of a fine oak tree, after many hours of searching he found a perfect tree to chop down and make a wooden doll. First of all, let me tell you something, Abbeystone Forest is very dangerous because legend has it that in 1856, a man called Jeffory Hankingson found a secret town and years later another man called Harry Oforanter came from England to Scotland to bury the town because he had hidden gold and lots of money in that town and he thought that someone would steal it, so he buried the town and now no one knows where it is. So back to the wooden doll, the man had made the doll in memory of his wife who had died. When he chopped down the tree a ghost appeared and sucked his soul out and he died. To be honest, I don't really believe that but it would be a great money maker as a movie or a book.

2.3.1934

I told Jessie that story and he actually believes it so today him and I are going to camp out in the forest tonight and when we get there the first thing we do is try and find the town and if we have any luck then we will run straight to the market and tell the shop man to come and see the lost town of Abbeystone. Jessie went to go and get fire wood and I set up the tent. Soon Jessie return with both his arms full with fire wood. I was impressed but he wasn't impressed with me because I had done nothing to help at all but then I helped him to start the fire and we both set up the tent. If my mum was with us on this trip she would be very proud of us, especially me because Jessie has been camping before with his mates and he said it was hard work. So it came round to night time and Jessie had packed lanterns so that we could search for the lost town. It's really weird because the lost town doesn't actually have a name so Jessie and I decided if we find the lost town, we would name it whatever we want. I had my watch on and we had lost track of time and when I looked at my watch it was 11:50! I wanted to keep looking so I didn't tell Jessie what time it was but I knew if mum knew that we were up until 11:50 she would go ckoo-ckoo! So I told Jessie what time it was and he ran as fast as a lion back to the camp, he was so tired but he stayed up so we could search longer but we had no luck anyway. Now that Jessie was not by my side anymore, I was alone in the forest! Suddenly the wind grew stronger and stronger and my brown, long hair got caught in my mouth and I heard Jessie shout Annie and I ran as fast as I could back to him and hugged him as tight as I have ever done before. He looked very confused but then I explained what had happened and he said that we should get to sleep right away.

"Quickly Annie get up now!"

"Wh...what do you wa...want! I'm trying *yawn* to sleep. It's only 7:00!"

"We're not where we set up the camp!"

"What! Thats not possible!"

"Stop being lazy and get up and see!"

So I got up and Jessie was right, we were in a completely  different place.........!😱

A House In The Woods

We were in a dark, old, crooked house with no windows or door. Jessie was looking at me as if I had done it... No I did not do it, I felt scared enough in the woods but now I am petrified! Jessie shouted that he saw a rat and a spider, let me get things straight, Jessie who is 15!, is terrified of bugs, rodents and spiders! This is because when he was 8, he watched a TV program about Harribos and he found out that they are made of crushed bug bones! He never ate  Harribos again. The house was a stone house that looked like it had been abandoned for years and years. Then suddenly, I found a trap door that led to a secret basement that had lots of boxes and creates. Jessie found a chest but it was all locked up and there was no key to be seen.
