THE HAUNTED FOREST

"CRASH"

"I'm scared what was that?"

"When are mum and dad coming home?", cried the youngest of three siblings Annabelle. She had flaming, red hair and pale skin with what looked like sprinkled freckles across her nose. Along with her hair and skin she had wide, engaging, hazel eyes that looked like marbles which although, made her look adorable with her long plaits. She was a girl frightened of many things.

"They'll be home soon, don't worry", replied the oldest Benjamin who had blonde hair and hazel eyes just like Annabelle. He was the leader of the three for he was the bravest and wisest.

"They were supposed to be home an hour ago though", complained the middle child Tobias with a mop of curly, brown hair and a brown shade of eye color. For anybody who knew him, they would know that he liked to complain.

"You're right, maybe we should go outside and wait for them at the side walk", suggested Benjamin.

"Alright", retorted Tobias and Annabelle.

Benjamin lifted Annabelle onto his shoulders because her eyes were nearly closing for she was so tired.

They all followed through the green front door where the paint was peeling quite severely like a nut slowly losing its shell.

They soon reached the concrete sidewalk under the gleaming moon and stars which looked as if it was a black table with glitter smeared across the surface. In the center of the opposing road was a huge number of police with sirens going off in a howling and whaling screech. They moved closer anxiously and curiously to know what was going on but they regretted it deeply because in the middle of the road lay there parents dead bodies. All three of there eyes were tearing up so they ran towards the road in great fear but a police officer stopped them instantly. The police was wearing a high tech uniform with a shining badge labeled 'Officer Arnold Tim Wulfric'.

"Excuse me children, you shouldn't be entering a highly forbidden area", remarked the officer.

"Don't you understand, they're our parents on the road there", yelled Tobias with attitude.

"Are they? Well I have to admit I'm very sorry"

The three siblings pushed passed the officer quickly and ran to their parents' side. Tobias couldn't believe it. He went to check their breathing but they were passed on and completely lifeless. Annabelle went to touch their hands with tears falling down her cheeks inevitably, but they were cold and stiff, never to be warm and loving again. They hugged each other in great misery with their hearts collapsed down into the middle of the earth.

"Yes children, very sad indeed", muttered the officer.

"It's more than sad", cried Tobias.

"Oh guys that reminds me, here's a tissue for each of you, I keep an endless supply", offered the officer. In addition they didn't accept for they were frozen in fear.

"Who will we live with now?", sobbed Annabelle.

"You're Uncle Bruce of course, great man he is"

"UNCLE BRUCE", exasperated the three.

"I know right that's so awesome"

"He's a murderer"

"How dare you call him that"

Benjamin, Tobias and Annabelle were so irritably mad. They decided that there was no chance of defending themselves because he was a highly trained police officer, so for there good they ran away. Sprinting ahead, incredibly fast they knew where to go fortunately.

"GET THE CHILDREN NOW"

Some police jumped into their cars and put the flashing lights on. Before they knew it there were about fifty police cars driving after them. It mad Annabelle tear up in fright of the hectic noise.

"QUICKLY DUCK INTO THE BUSHES", ordered Benjamin.

They dived in dangerously with blood and dirt all over them from the mud and sharp edged thorns. Annabelle was crying furiously but Tobias slapped his hand over her mouth.

"We must no be seen Annabelle", whispered Tobias frightfully.

Or else we'll end up at a Uncle Bruce's and you know he wants us dead. Remember when mum told him that she had the most expensive and rarest gem in the world. Ever since then he has wanted to kill us, mum and dad. Therefore he'll become the possessor of the stone.

"Oh", sighed Annabelle in silence.

Once they knew that the coast was clear they headed through a deep, dark mystical forest that was surrounded in transparent misty fog like a fire becoming damp and leaving remains of smoke. At the deadest minute of midnight they stumbled across a broken double story house with bricks half broken furthermore disintegrated into powder and slabs of wood pricking out at every end that looked prone to splinters.

"Do you want to stay here for the night?", queried Benjamin.

"Uh, no, it's barely livable, besides who knows how many ghosts are in there", complained Tobias.

"It's all we got"

Tobias didn't bother complaining because of his exhaustion. They stepped into the shabby house from the creaking door that smelt like moss and asbestos rotting into the house.

"Let's go upstairs", suggested Benjamin.

"That's where the beds may be"

Tobias and Annabelle nodded their heads in agreement and climbed up the unsteady, spiraling stairs that made them feel like they were going to fall through the steps. Luckily they made it up there and headed into a wide bedroom with three rusty beds and a wide, cobwebbed window. Each bed had an unordinary name on the side of the bed posts. The smallest single bed was labeled 'Wendy Salier' which Benjamin lay Annabelle in with the musty old covers making her sneeze. Tobias slept in the next bed labeled Xanthus Tuckerman and so did Benjamin who had a bed labeled Aberforth Nelson. Just as they were falling asleep the full moonlight struck the wide window and they heard a rustling noise coming from the triple wardrobe next to Benjamin.

"What's in there?", cried Annabelle.

"Maybe it's a rat, you should let it out", exclaimed Tobias.

Benjamin slowly opened the door...

"CRASH"

Two ghosts swarmed out and knocked the wardrobe door off its hinges.

"This is our bedroom", spooked one of the ghosts.

"Why did you enter?"

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH", screamed the three siblings.

They ran downstairs faster than their racing heartbeats and picked up an old retro phone. Tobias dialed 000 for emergency services.

"You are calling emergency services. Please press-"

Suddenly the phone cracked and died.

"BANG"

The phone electrocuted and blew up the whole house. They sprinted out to what used to be the front door in tremendous fear.

To their luck outside were two more ghosts, not bad spirits though- it was their parents. The three ran to them, hugged the spirits and shed tears. Although they couldn't feel their parents, they felt their fear vanish.
