THE MAN IN MY DREAMS

Chapter One

Hana closed her eyes when she saw a striking light posing on her eyes. That light made her really happy. That light was a signal – a signal that she would meet him again.

Hana has been dreaming about this guy for about 2 years now. Yes, 2 freaking long years. Not on a daily basis of course, but maybe about 3 times in every 2 weeks. For all those times, this guy has been making her happy in her dreams. He has been making her believe that she is the only girl in his eyes. Well, in her dreams, she IS really the ONLY girl. But sadly, for all those times, she has never asked what his name was.

Hana is now walking at a green grass field with all those colorful flowers dancing in the wind. Yes, like those places in the movies. Those romantic places where couples would want to have picnic on. But the difference is, this place is perfect. Far from perfect.

Hana walked into a lavender flower. She tried picking it up and smelled it. Usually, it wouldn’t be this sweet – smelling but there, it was perfect with all the colorful butterflies flying from one flower to another. Overall, it is paradise.

Just then, a kid went to her.

“Noona! Someone gave you this.” The kid said as he handed her a bouquet of flowers.

Hana looked at the bouquet and crooked her brows. “Who would give me this?” She asked the innocent kid.

The kid just blinked and shrugged. And eventually, he ran away.

Hana watched the kid as he ran on that direction. Just then, she noticed that she wasn’t the only one in the paradise. She looked at those kids running like unicorns frolicking under the rainbow. To her, it was priceless.

She just smiled to herself as she kept on walking around the field.

She stared at the bouquet of variety of flowers on her hand. She pinked. “Did he give this to me?” She asked herself as she couldn’t help but form a smile on her lips.

She just kept on smiling and walking until she reached a bench and stopped. She sat down and let the sun shine on her bare white skin.

“I wonder why it is not hot but the sun is up so high in the sky?” She asked as she lifted her head and closed her eyes to catch the rays of the sun.

“I wonder if there is radiation coming from the sun.” She mumbled as she opened her eyes once more.

Just then a pair of arms wrapped around her waist.

Hana automatically blushed as she knows who the owner of those arms is. His head rested on Hana’s left shoulder.

“Miss me?” He asked.

Hana looked at him and smiled. “I didn’t.” She lied.

He pouted and rolled his eyes. “I know you did. It’s obvious.” He said as he intertwined his fingers with hers.

Hana was startled by his sudden gesture and blushed.

He chuckled at her. “See? You’re blushing.” He said. “You really missed me.” He continued.

Hana just rolled her eyes. “Why? Did you miss me as well?” She asked.

He nodded. “I did. So so soooo much!” He opened his arms wide to tell her how much he missed her.

Hana chuckled at his cute gesture. “Is that so?” She asked.

He nodded. “Yes. Do you want me to prove it to you?” He asked.

Hana nodded. “Sure. Can you?” She said.

He nodded and leaned closer to her. He slowly put his lips over hers and kissed her passionately. Hana kissed back and smiled.

He smirked. “Have I proven it well?” He asked.

Hana looked away and shook her head.

He scoffed. “Why? Do you want me to prove it again?” He asked.

Hana shook her head. “No! Don’t do that ever again.” She said as she looked at his eyes.

He smiled. That smile melted her heart. “Alright.” He said as he pecked her cheek.

Hana gave him a look. “YAH! Why are you so addicted to kissing me?” She asked.

He shrugged, smiling widely. “I don’t know. Maybe I am the kissing addict? Or maybe I find you kissable?” He teased.

Hana frowned at him and hit his arm lightly.

“OWWWW!” He overreacted.

Hana scoffed. “That barely touched your skin, Mister!” She said. “Why are you overreacting?” She asked.

He just shrugged. He looked at Hana’s face. He was mesmerized by how she looks. He was attracted to her smile, to her frown, to her pout. He was mesmerized by how she talks. He kept on looking at her while Hana was looking away, appreciating the beauty of the paradise.

And then he realized what made her really special for him. Her innocence. Her innocence that complements her good heart. That’s when he found himself feeling that he really fell for this girl. HARD.

Hana woke up from that beautiful dream again. She looked at the clock at her bedside table.

“1 o’clock AM?” She almost screamed loud. If only she had the energy to do so.

She then suddenly stopped and sat with her back at the board of the bed. She remembered what her dream was again. She smiled. “Will that be possible in real life too?” She asked herself.

All of her dreams, she wanted all of them to come true.

Then, she thought of him. She smiled. “Will he come in my life too?” She wondered as she looked at the window where the moonlight was shining over.

She just sighed and laid on her bed again.

Meanwhile, L. Joe just woke up from a dream as well. He looked at his wall clock.

“1 o’clock AM?” He asked in disbelief. “God! Why do I have to wake up in the middle of the night just because my dream was cut off?” He whined as he hugged his pillow tight.

Just then, images from his dreams flashed back again. He couldn’t help but feel really happy when he recalled all the things that happened in his dreams.

“Will there be a possibility for that dream to come true?” He asked. “Because I have been dreaming this cute dreams for almost 2 years now.” He added.

He wondered why he has been into this feeling for quite some time now. He has even reserved his heart for the girl in his dreams.

“When will she come into my life?”

“When will he come into my life?”

Chapter Two

Hana woke up the next day feeling all panda and looking like one. She was thinking about all the things that happened in the dream all night. She slept by 5 AM already, and to think she has classes at 8.

“My head hurts so bad. Oh god why would you even give a dream that I would never forget?” She mumbled as she hurried to the bathroom.

This was her daily routine. She would sleep and dream then would think about the dream the whole time before falling asleep just a few hours before her class.

She finished preparing after a few minutes. Yes, she isn’t the type of girl who puts a lot of time to prepare. It was just too hassle for her.

She went down stairs and saw her mom preparing breakfast already. “Good morning, Mom!” She said as she kissed her cheek.

Her mom smiled at her. “What’s good in your morning?” She asked while preparing the food.

Hana just grinned. “Nothing. Maybe I just had the best dream ever.” She said as she sat at her usual place. “Where’s dad?” She asked.

“Went to work already. He has a lot of buildings to finish.” Her mom replied as she sat in front of Hana and ate their food.

Hana just nodded. She was used to it. Her dad is always away because he is the only one who is working for the whole family.

Hana is the only child. Her parents have been really good and kind to her. They try their best to give her all she needs. But Hana has never been the spoiled type of girl. I guess, her parents have shown her and taught her the right manners to be an understanding girl.

Their house is always full of laughter especially when her dad is around. Her dad is like the epitome of all the jokes in the community. I guess, that is also one of the factors why Hana grew up really bubbly and happy.

Hana finished her food and kissed her mom good bye. “Bye mom. Have to hurry for school!” She said as she waved her hand and strode out of their house.

All her life, Hana was one of the most sought – after person wherever she goes. May it be at school or just around the neighborhood. People always look up to her especially the dongsaengs. She was the role model for everyone. She has a big heart for almost all creatures in the land. She has the sweetest smile that would make a raging tiger tame at once.

She has the characteristics of a true friend. And yes, she is the MS. CONGENIALITY of all times.

For the guys, she is the perfect girl. Beautiful, sweet, innocent and happy. Every guy would die just to get her. If only she wasn’t into this belief of the dreams.

“Hana!!!!” Mihye called her as she walked into the gates.

Hana smiled and waved back. “Mihye!” She called and ran to her friend. “Where are Mina and Nana?” She asked.

Hana is a part of the Queenka group, Astra. Everyone looks up to these girls as well. It is composed of 4 lovely girls who are really friendly and very good role models for the campus. They are Mihye, Hana and the twins Nana and Mina. All of them share almost the same characteristics.

This, by the way, is the reason why Hana is called the Campus Princess.

Mihye shrugged. “I don’t know. You know those twins. They would disappear then appear all of a sudden.” She said as she is fixing something in her bag.

Hana giggled. It’s true. “Oh yea. Why did I even ask?” She said as she giggled and linked her arms with Mihye.

“Why are you in a very good mood today?” Mihye asked.

Hana shrugged. “You know. Maybe I dreamt of something really good.” She replied.

Mihye just shook her head. “Not about the guy of your dreams again.” She said.

Hana smiled and nodded. “It is about him. It is really sweet!” She said with a big big biiiiiiiiig smile.

Mihye just chuckled at Hana’s childishness. “Sometimes I am wondering why they are all adoring you.” She said.

Hana just blinked clueless as well. “Me too.” She said as they stopped because a guy was in front of them. “Excuse me?” Hana asked.

The guy just smiled and kneeled down. He stretched his arms and revealed a bouquet of roses.

“KIM HANA, PLEASE ACCEPT MY LOVE FOR YOU!” He screamed loudly that most of the people heard about it.

Hana bit her lip and looked at Mihye. She doesn’t know what to do. She couldn’t break his heart. Not when he has proposed in front of a lot of people. She just can’t.

Mihye took control of the scene. “Omo! Sorry, mister. But our Hana is allergic to roses. Sorry. She can’t come near you right now.” She bowed and pulled Hana from behind.

Hana sighed. “Wooo! I thought I would be caught up in that situation.” She said. “I don’t like guys other than him.” She said.

Mihye knows about him. Him, the person in Hana’s dreams.

“Aish! Hana, you really have some odd taste. I mean, why are you waiting for him? You don’t even know if he’s coming.” Mihye said. “I mean, he’s a dream. Not in reality.” She added.

Hana just smiled. “You know, I will only stop thinking this way if he already stopped taking over my dreams.” She said. “But he was always there.” She said sadly.

Mihye just sighed. “I hope he’ll stop disturbing you.” She said.

Hana smiled. “Me too.” She replied. “Oh! I better get going. I have classes at 8.” She said.

Mihye nodded. “Yeah. Me too. Bye! See you at lunch!” She waved.

Meanwhile, L. Joe just arrived at his new university. He didn’t get to sleep well because he has been thinking about the dream he had as well. He just found himself smiling. *Damn. When would she even come?* HE thought.

He parked his car at the parking lot for students. He was astonished at how huge the parking lot was. “Wow. This is an extraordinary school!” He beamed inside his car as he took his bag and stepped out of the car.

Everything was normal until…

“WAAAAAAH! He’s a god!”

“DAMN! WHY ARE THERE A LOT OF HANDSOME GUYS HERE?!!!!!”

“IS HE ANOTHER MEMBER OF TEEN TOP?”

L. Joe furrowed his eyebrows. *Teen Top?* He thought. *Cool name. But what’s that?* He thought again as he shrugged all the girls blocking his way and made his way to the office.

L. Joe is born to be a Kingka, a Jjang. In his previous school, he was known as the Campus Prince. Every girl would love to be with him and would die to have him. He was proud of that, but he never dated any of the crazy girls. Truth is, he never dated anyone before.

He reached the office after a long way out from the crazy fan girls. “Hooo!” He sighed in relief as he entered the office.

“You are?” The principal asked.

L. Joe bowed. “I am Lee Byunghun, the transfer student.” He said politely.

The principal nodded. “Arasseo. You may sit first, Mr. Lee.” He said as he took several papers from his drawer.

L. Joe nodded and took a sit.

“So, why did you transfer again?” The principal asked.

“My dad has to move for his work. So, my family had to move to compensate with the distance.” L. Joe replied.

The principal nodded. “Oh. I see.” He said. “Here.” He handed L. Joe the several papers he took from his drawer.

L. Joe politely took the papers.

“I just gave you your schedule, your ID and the slip you have to show your teacher since you are late now.” The principal looked at his watch. “It’s 8:05. Maybe the teacher is in. But just in case, take those slips.” He said.

L. Joe nodded and prepared to leave.

“Oh, you have to wear your uniform by tomorrow.” The principal added. “Stop by here before you go home so I can give you.” He continued.

L. Joe nodded. “Thanks, Mr. Park.” He bowed and carefully walked out of the office.

As soon as he reached outside, he looked into his schedule. He felt deflated.

“What the hell? Just one hour break? Seriously?” He mumbled as he looked for his room. “Math, Room 3C.” He read as he kept on looking at rooms.

On the other hand, Hana was walking back to her room. She excused herself to the restroom for a while. Everything was fine until…

“OWWWWW!” Hana found herself at the floor. She bumped into someone. She looked up and saw a handsome guy looking down at her without even a hint that he wanted to help.

Hana stood up. She looked at the guy. *Doesn’t he look familiar?* She thought.

Then she noticed that he is wearing civilian clothes. “You are new here?” She asked.

The guy looked at her. “Isn’t it obvious?” He asked.

Hana raged at his answer. *Arrogant.* She thought. “Well, it’s just that you look familiar. I think I’ve seen you somewhere.” She said.

The guy smirked. “Of course you would say that. A lot of girls want to be with me. And I think you are one of them.” He said cockily.

“What?!” Hana yelled is anger. “Tch. Jerk.” She whispered as she continued walking. “I wish you would get lost inside this school.” She mumbled as she went back to her room.

L. Joe looked at Hana who is walking away. *She looks familiar too. Where have I seen her?* He thought. Then his eyes widened. “Dream girl?” He mumbled in disbelief.

*Woah. I never thought this day would come.* He thought as he walked towards Hana’s path.

Chapter Three

Hana went back to her classroom still thinking about how she is so pissed at the new guy who looked so familiar. If she only knew.

*Where did I see him again? I swear he looks really familiar.* She thought as she walked to her seat.

She plopped herself in the chair making the others look her way. This is the first time they saw Hana looking like she lost in a lottery big time or something.

She tried her best to focus on the lesson but the face of the new guy kept bothering her. *Damn it. Where have I seen that face? My mind is bugging me!* She thought as she desperately thought about his face.

When she was in the middle of her “thinking”, someone knocked on the door.

The teacher looked at him and smiled. “Oh, you’re here!” She beamed as she stopped lecturing and went to accommodate the new student.

The new student smiled. “Good morning, Ms. Kang.” He greeted politely. He looked around and saw the girls drooling for him, again. *Not again.* He thought.

Ms. Kang went to him and faced the students. “Guys, meet your new classmate, Mr. Lee Byunghun.” She said. “Mr. Lee, introduce yourself.” She said.

L. Joe smiled at the class and bowed. “Anyeong haseyo! My name is Lee Byunghun. But you can call me L. Joe.” He said. And upon introducing himself, the girls in the room squealed. I mean it, SQUEALED.

Well, the girls did. Except for one.

Hana just stared at the new guy. Yes, her eyes are literally stuck into L. Joe. She is scrutinizing every detail of the man and is trying to remember who he is. Or where she must have seen this guy.

“He is arrogant. I probably would remember him because I remember all the arrogant people I’ve met.” She mumbled as she tried her best to remember. “But why can’t I remember him?” She asked herself.

She was into the thinking so much that she didn’t even noticed that L. Joe is approaching her way. She just realized it when L. Joe was right in front of her.

Her eyes widened. “Yah! What are you doing here?” She blurted all of a sudden.

L. Joe blinked. “Ms. Kang said I will seat here.” He pointed the vacant seat beside her.

Hana shut her eyes wanting to hit herself badly. Yeah, what was she thinking? Oh yeah. Where has she seen him?

L. Joe sat leisurely beside her. He took out his book. It’s Math. Ms. Kang is teaching math. He tried too much to act cool now that he is beside the girl of his dreams. His heart is pounding rapidly. He could hardly breathe.

*Damn. Is this the feeling?* He thought as he tried to concentrate on the lesson.

Hana on the other hand was busy thinking about him still. She doesn’t know why but couldn’t help herself but be bothered by L. Joe. She glanced at L. Joe who seemed so immersed into the lecture.

L. Joe must have noticed that she is looking at him. He looked at her. “Why? Admiring my handsome face already?” He asked conceitedly.

Hana scoffed. “Yeah, like I would.” She said as she focused on her own book.

L. Joe just smiled. He was more than happy now that he can talk to his dream girl now. He stared at her face. *It’s the same. It’s really her.* He thought as he laid his head on his left hand and stared at Hana.

*The way she pouts, she frowns, it’s all the same.* He smiled.

Hana looked at him. “Now, why are you looking at me?” She asked.

L. Joe just grinned. “Why? Can’t I look at you?” He asked.

He said it in a rude way but Hana felt her heart beating faster. She doesn’t know why nor understand why she has been acting like this.

L. Joe leaned closer to examine her features more. Hana was taken aback.

“Y-yah!” She stuttered.

L. Joe just grinned. “Aish. Synchronization 100%.” He said.

Hana narrowed her eyes on him. She couldn’t understand him. *Synchronization 100%? Isn’t that a song of a boy group?* She thought.

L. Joe sighed dreamily and looked at his book again. *This feels really good though.* He thought as happiness lingered around him.

The period ended with L. Joe momentarily stealing glances at Hana. It was pretty obvious though. Hana was not even moving in her seat because she feels like L. Joe is a creepy guy. *First arrogant, now a maniac.* She thought as she tried to cuss L. Joe in her mind.

Hana would time to time glare at L. Joe but the guy just won’t blink. He would even chuckle at her. *What the hell is wrong with him? Is he crazy?!!!!* She yelled in her mind in full frustration.

With that, the thought that L. Joe was familiar was washed out of her head. *Familiar or not, I don’t care anymore.*

Now, they are waiting for the next period. Last period before lunch break. Hana couldn’t even imagine how she wanted the next period to be over now.

Yeah. With a creepy man beside her, who wouldn’t?

The class screamed when 5 handsome guys stepped into the room.

“WAHHHH! Chunji oppa!”

“CAP oppa! Sit beside me!”

“Ricky you are so cuteeeee~”

“Changjo you’re hotter than ever!”

Niel I want to kiss you so bad!!!!”

“WAAAAAH! TEEN TOP JJANG!!!!!”

Hana just shook her head. *These girls really.* She thought as she smiled at the five guys who sat behind her and L. Joe.

I forgot to tell you, Hana and L. Joe were sitting at the end of the row. But now, Teen Top members are sitting at the very end.

“Good morning, Hana!” Chunji greeted her with his flashy smile.

Hana smiled and nodded.

Teen top and Astra are known to be the hottest people at school. Hottest for some reasons.

They are good looking.

They are role models.

They are friendly.

“How is the first subject, noona?” Ricky asked.

Hana just smiled. “It was fine..” She replied. *or not? Who would be fine when your seatmate is creepily looking at you all throughout?* She thought as she remembered L. Joe.

Oh yeah. Astra and Teen Top are great friends. They often hang out together, making them really close to each other.

“Where have you been? Why didn’t you attend the first period?” She asked.

“Volunteer work.” Changjo said.

Niel nodded. “We saw someone having a hard time in the streets so we helped her walk to her house.” He said as he sighed.

“But it turns out that her house is in the place of the Paleolithic era! It was in the mountains.” CAP said, slightly complaining.

Hana chuckled. “That’s why good works are earned hard, CAP oppa.” She beamed.

L. Joe flinched when he heard her say ‘CAP oppa’. *Oppa?* HE thought as a tiny bit of jealousy lingered through his veins.

Ricky looked over at the new guy beside her. “Noona, who is that?” He asked pointing at L. Joe.

Hana looked at the person Ricky is pointing. “Oh. That’s the new student. Lee Byunghun.” She said.

Teen Top nodded.

“Anyeong, Byunghun-ah! My name is Ricky!!!!” Ricky energetically introduced himself.

L. Joe looked at him and nodded. “Nice meeting you.” HE said.

Then the rest of the boys followed. They were busy talking to the new guy and Hana was totally forgotten just like that.

“So, you were from the 3rd district?” Chunji asked L. Joe.

L. Joe nodded. “Yeah. I had to transfer because my dad moved for his work.” HE explained.

“Awww! So you are new here? We can be friends!!! I know you don’t have any friends yet.” Niel beamed.

L. Joe smiled. “Really?” He asked in disbelief. *Why are the guys here so kind-hearted?* He thought.

The Teen Top guys looked at their leader.

CAP nodded. “Yeah, sure. We’d love to have someone in addition.” He said.

Hana heard that. *What? That maniac in Teen Top? No way!!!!* She complained in her head.
