Immortal Queen?

“I’m opening the fiftieth meeting of the Council,” A man in a black suit told to the people gathered in the room. He turned to the steel robot standing near him with a hologram pulled up. “Note the date, June 30th, 2050 year.”

A few beeps went through the room, before the whole protocol showed up on the hologram. All people in the room, the Heads of United Kingdom’s Parliament turned to Alastair Grooveman, the president of the Council.

“Welcome,” he started and sat down on the purple chair by the round table. Another robot - a humanoid, came inside the room with coffees at the tray. The robot placed one cup before each person in the room, and soon left. Then, the president spoke again. “We have a serious matter to discuss.”

“And by that, you mean, Mr. President?” Asked Olivia Hart, moving her gaze at Alastair.

“I think we all know, why we’ve gathered here.” Some of people nodded at this, some looked slightly confused. “Our Queen reigns for too long, won’t you agree with me?”

“You are right, it’s been almost hundred years as she is the Queen.” some man said.

“Yes, and it seems that she’s not going anywhere soon.”

“It is strange for a human to live so long. She’s almost hundred and thirty year old” Grooveman continued, giving his listeners a stern, meaningful look. “I think it is quite...odd.”

“Do you have any ideas why?” Another voice in the room asked.

“Well, I have a few theories.” Alastair replied, granting the asking man a smirk. “First, I thought of good genes, but still, living for so long...it’s not possible. But then I realized that our dear Queen was born in late twenties.”

“And? What’s your point, Alastair?” Olivia insisted.

“What if she’s one of those humans, on whose German scientist were experimenting?” Everyone in the room gave him a disbelieving look. Alastair was known from his strange thoughts, but this was just surreal. “Look, around the second world war she was a teenager. What if German, if not German than American scientist created a serum, that would prolong her lifetime. That would make her…”

“What, immortal?” Mrs. Hart laughed at him, and soon others joined her. “She’s not a vampire. She can’t be immortal.”

“Then how do you explain her long life? I think she got a serum from some scientist and that’s why she’s still alive for so long already.”

“That can’t be true, Alastair.” the woman stated, letting out the air from her mouth. “Do you think that our Queen, would willingly participate in experiments on humans? Moreover that she would let some scientist do it to her, especially in such young age. Besides,” she was speaking more. “If she’d be immortal, shouldn’t she remained at her teen look? And of course, the last but the most important thing, why would she do it?”

“Maybe the serum let her age differently, slower than a normal human.” Alastair responded, looking her deeply in the eyes. “And why? The answer is simple. To not let anyone else to rule.”
