39 Poems for Stephenie
Introduction
Hello my love. Last year I thought of writing you a book of poems as a birthday present at the last minute. I literally started it that morning and finished it in a marathon session of 5 or 6 hours. I was unemployed and the unemployment we got was barely enough for us to survive, even with you working overtime every week. I decided that I should make it a tradition and increase the number of poems to equal the number of years that you have graced this earth. I want this collection to be an inspiration of our love and an example of the inner machinations of my brain.
I have loved you since I first met you. You are my muse and the smile on my face.
I love you eternally,
B'shert
Collapsing Galaxy
I held the wonder of the galaxy when I held your hand.
The softness of the digits desecrated my black heart.
Your gaze tore down the wall of Jericho around my soul.
The feeling corrupted the essence that I thought was me.
Slowly dissolving away veneer by painful veneer.
Until you wrought from the lump of flesh I am.
A new person.
The true me.
The me I forgot.
Atmosphere
You are the essence that wafts across the atmosphere.
My starry night that drowns all sorrow.
The endless wave of rejoicing that crushes my demons.
You are the explosion of redemption to my aching heart.
The lips of angels never tasted so sweet.
Breaking through the atmosphere.
You create undulating shadows of hope.
Across the planes of existence you spread your arms.
Engulfing the world, but only embracing me.
