Variations on a theme. . .

Tablo reader up chevron

Before I Start. . .

On my own

nothing.

In Him

something.

I am simply vapour that pours out rhymes,

wanting to thank a creator that gives me life.

This may offend,

but it's here I must begin.

Him first,

The Original Creator.

The one who knew me,

before I start.

Jon,

Succinct,

Encouraging,

Apposite;

Thanks,

Mike

The perplexing nature of writing

Have you ever decided to start a book,

(one of your own I mean)

With the best of intentions and brimming mind,

You start with a page that's clean.

The opening line flows out from your pen,

(followed shortly by lines two and three)

And by the end of three chapters you stop and look,

Pleased that you wrote so freely.

. . . .and then you try to write chapter four. . . .

Welcome

Glad you made it,

Though I knew you always would.

Never doubted for a moment.

Can you stay?

Will you rest?

I know you've so much more to do.

But a rest will do you good,

settle down.

Got to go?

But it's so soon!

It just won't feel the same without you.

One more moment of your time?

What's that you say?

Won't settle down?

No second best?

You must move on?

No trouble,

You're welcome!
