Chapter One

The soggy ground squelched underneath his feet as he briskly followed the gravel path. Rows of engraved stones stood upright on either side. He paid no attention to them as the cold rain poured down his face, pressing his dark hair to his forehead.

Once he had reached the end he placed his right hand against the iron gate. He closed his eyes and concentrated on counting to ten. After ten seconds he turned around and peered through the downpour. He just about saw the silhouettes of 5 people outside the gate.

As he trudged his way back along the path he noticed the group leant forward in discussion. Trying not to think what they were talking about he hurriedly carried on. Upon reaching the gate he clambered over swiftly. Landing on his feet he turned round to be met with examining glances. He returned the looks calmly and took an exaggerated look at his watch. It read 23:28.

One of the group peeled off from the rest and offered his hand to George. George shook the hand and looked arrogantly towards the others.

"Well done," said Reece, who had shook Georges' hand. "Who have passed the third and final test of induction." At this the others approached George and shook his hand.

"You should have seen the 2014 Inball World Cup final! It was epic!"
