Chapter 1- Breaking Free

Date: Masdrar 20

Year: 813

Time: 10:30

System: Sharal

Planet: Karsd

Location: Maximum Space Prison Outpost Nalmugov

On the far parts of the inner rims of the Balsdronarian galaxy there is a planet called Karsd. On the planet was a large hole that was deep into the ground with hundreds of levels dug all around. In each one were prison cells containing some of the worst scum in the galaxy consisting of different types of races. The prison was one of many establishments owned by the Stezor organization, a wealthy organization that is run by several wealthy men, that are corrupt at the same time. The planet was full of rare minerals that the Stezor organization profited from.  Using the prisoners were a way to save money.  Orbiting the planet were several security prison outposts. The greatest of them all that was heavily fortified and further away from the rest was the maximum space prison outpost Nalmugov, consisting of the fiercest criminals in the Balsdronarian galaxy. Very few were allowed outside of their cells and allowed to walk in the prisoners common area. Most were either locked up in their cells or put into an induced coma to prevent any problems from arising within the station.

In the security guards changing room stood four guards. All four of them were humans. Kadro Nolir was the oldest of them, already in his fifties but was top of his class and has been on the job twenty five years. The second was Sardel Melin, the youngest among them, not even twenty yet, and already working in one of the highest security space stations in the galaxy. To him, the job was easy and felt like the job was easy. The third was a man in his thirties named Serkiv Orinium, a transfer, only been working a few weeks on the station who had to tie his long hair into a not so his security helmet on.. Often keeps to himself and only focuses on the job at hand and is very through with his work and knowing all the ins and outs of the station. The fourth was Madren Destrit. Only been on the detail two months. He may be part of alliance security, but he never forgot where his roots lied. He was twenty six and was very clean when it came to his appearance. A true fit for someone who looked like a soldier.

In his locker hung a Premderian Guardian medallion, a title given only to seventeen Premderians who stand watch over the planet. To earn the title, you must first be a Premderian Elite, a highly trained soldier of the Premderian military. If a Premderian Elite, you earn the right to challenge any of the Seventeen Guardians for their title but must make take a difficult road before they could do that. They must journey through the difficult path of Comrudun to the top of Mount Trenlumzar where they will be tested along the way. If they reached the top, they would find a temple where the guardians reside. From there they have the right to challenge any of the seventeen guardians to a battle. If the challenger is able to defeat the guardian he earns his spot in the temple. The guardian is able to choose to take the challenge again, but most times, they choose to live out their lives in peace or in some cases take their skills elsewhere in the galaxy. If a Premderian Guardian chooses to retire the life, he must choose a worthy successor that is approved by the other Guardians.

On the medallion was the Destrit name but was not Madrens name in front of his last. It belonged to a man named, Ceridine Destrit. A Premderian Guardian choosing to retire his position, due to many injuries suffered in battle. Madren took the medallion, put it around his neck and tucked it under his jacket.

"Why do you wear that thing?" asked Sardel

"It keeps me safe." he answered placing it under his shirt

"We will soon find out if it does." said Serkiv holstering his pistol and closing his locker

"With what is going on lately, he is going to need a lot more than that medallion to keep him safe." said Kadro

"Why do you say that sir?" he asked

"Kreduunians are united starting a war with the Normosh system." said Kadro closing his locker "And lately they have been giving a much more difficult fight than the Normosh military expected." he said

"But the Kreduunians are a bunch of outlaws warring with each other over a system that is worth so little." he said

"Perhaps they just got smart and decided to turn their attention to something that is more worth their while." replied Kadro "But still doesn't answer the question on why the Normosh military is having such a difficult time fighting them." he said

Kadro realized Madren was distracted by another matter going on. He looked to one of the cells to see two guards beating down one of the prisoners who was curled up into a ball trying to cover his face while continued to be beaten on. Madren wanted to intervene but Kadro prevented it by banging on the cell with his club. Immediately the two guards quit what they were doing and immediately the two stopped. One of the guards got one more kick in and Madren took one step before being pushed back. Madren watched with an unhappy look as the two guards walked away unscathed.

"Move on." said Kadro

Madren looked back to the prisoner drip blood as he slowly crawled to his bed. He looked to him once holding his head down wishing he could do more. He caught up to the rest of the security detail not paying much attention to the words going on around him. Kadro looked back to him once before looking straight ahead.

"If you have a complaint, make sure you file it." said Kadro

"Yes sir." Madren said quietly holding his head down while they continued to walk

"I heard the bosses are getting some good money for him." Said Sardel

"Just more money for them to stuff in their pockets." Said Kadro

"Well perhaps for this prisoner we can get a little bonus if we play our cards right." Said Sardel

"You keep dreaming that Sardel. But only dreams can get you so far in this organization that we work." Said Kadro before looking to Madren "And what do you think Madren?" he asked him

"This job doesn't pay me enough to think." he replied while walking with his weapon at the low ready with a stone face

Thy continued walking until they came to sector C Hall Five. The residents of the hall were all on death row. They all were very quiet and just sat in their cells looking at the guards walk down the hall until they came to a cell at the end of the hall, that is set to hold the worst of the worst. Inside was a man dressed iall in black consisting of a no sleeve shirt, dirty pants, and boots with three belt buckles on each. He stood a couple inches over six feet and at least two hundred and thirty pounds. His hair was long and down to his shoulders, with a beard that was not as long, but very thick. The man gave off such a presence to the guards, even though he just laid in his bed snoring.

"Codrius Ringar." said Madren which got him to stop snoring and gave a response back to Madren

"That is Captain Codrius Ringar." he said showing a little smile

The man opened up one eye that glowed red for a moment before turning back to a dark brown color then shutting it. He sat up from his uncomfortable bed and cracked his neck first then gave out a large yawn. He then opened both of his eyes and looked at the security team, and just rolled his eyes. He seemed to know the routine quite well. He stood up from his bed making a couple of the men somewhat look up at him. He held his wrists out and waited.

"Keep your gun on him Madren." Said Kadro

Madren was stiff and held his weapon tight to his shoulder and had his eyes locked onto the prisoner. Kadro did not hesitate while he looked at Codrius straight in the eyes, while Serkiv was putting the restraining shackles on his wrist. He then knelt down and put them on his ankles. While they walked down the halls Codrius looked at the holding cells of some of the convicts, who just gave him a cold stare. As they walked, the horrible treatments on convicts became more visibly seen. Most of them were weak and tired barely standing. Most of them had in been there for months.

As they walked, down halls, the sound of a screaming girl could be heard fighting while several guards could be heard at the same time. They continued walking down the halls and the voices could be heard getting louder and louder until they came to a cell labeled for a female Kalthanian named Kitras Nolvak. When they turned to get a more visible look, the sight of her clothes being mostly ripped off while the guards started removing theirs, were enough to make the escorting for Codrius Ringar stop for a moment.

Codrius did not take too kindly to the idea of a female being beaten and taken advantage of by the security guards. Another that escorted Codrius did not take too kindly either. Madren punched in his code and punched the button to open the door. The three guards stopped for a moment and smiled taking a breath while she was held down by two of them trying to break free of he hold. Her strength was very little and could very little.

"What is this?" he asked them

"An inspection." said the leader of the three guards "She refused to cooperate so she must be hiding something that we don't want to see." he said looking at her

"That's a dam lie." she said but got a quick kick to the gut that made her gag fr air "When I get out of here I am going to kill all of you bastards." she said while grinding her teeth

"You want to participate in the correctional punishment?" asked the smiling lead guard extending his hand out to take part in the activities

Madren took a step forward looking down at Kitras who continued to try and fight free but still continued to have no luck. While she tried to fight Madren gave a wink that only she saw. His stun wand dropped from under the sleeve of his jacket while he quickly spun around striking the lead guard in the face causing blood to splash onto Kitras and on the guards. Before the lead guard could even go down he quickly struck one of the other guards in the face knocking him down. The third guard threw a sloppy punch Maden dodged and had a counter for. Madren struck back with the stun wand to his chest bringing him down. Kitras gasped for air still but Madren helped her to her feet. He looked down to the three guards who moaned in pain.

"Are you alright?" he asked her

"I am fine." she said kicking the lead guard right in between the legs making him groan in pain, and watched them slowly crawl out of the cell

One of the guards hands touched the boot of Codrius. When he looked up to Codrius. Codrius just had a smile while his eyes turned red for a moment before turning back to his normal color. The guard quickly ran stumbling over his colleagues. Kitras was smart not to try anything. She stood back while Madren turned his back to her and closed the cell door behind him.

"This doesn't mean I owe you." she said

"Never said you did." he said locking the cell before looking at Codrius who looked down at him showing a little smile

"You have a good heart kid." he said

"The kid firmly believes that some convicts should not be treated as animals being beat down and taken advantage of." said Serkiv

"Doing their time is enough." said Madren putting away his stun wand "They know what they have done. They are the ones that have to live with their actions. There are some that I would understand when it comes to certain situations and there are some that I do not." he said before taking the lead for Codrius to follow behind. They continued on down the hall ways until Codrius' eyes caught that of a room where personal items of the prisoners were placed. For Codrius the man responsible for the care of the effects was thoroughly observing items that were Codrius. His clothes were not that big of a deal. But at the touch of his large long sword, with a handle shining in gold, that looked had no scratches or marks on it. On the blade was several Elsarian markings. The Blongir it was called. A sword remade thanks to the magic of the Elsarians. A sword that was given to Codrius by his mentor and late legendary pirate captains, Gendrul Tarv.

"Can you please be careful with that." he said

The guard did not take much care to what Codrius said. He looked at the large sword, that was called the Blongir. That did not stop the guard holding the item from tossing it on the table like junk, that made Codrius quite upset. He quickly stepped out from in between the guards were escorting him and over to the caged area. Before he could could set foot in the room Codrius felt the end of a stun wand by one of the two guards standing outside the room. He let out a very small yell as he dropped to his knees. The guard stopped for a moment to let him look down at him before Codrius was helped to his feet by Sekriv again so he look that same guard directly in the eye.

"You are going to regret that." said the angered Codrius

"I am sure we will." the guard said in sarcasm taking the stuff that belonged to the captain and tossed it into one of the hundreds of lockers in the room "But you will be long dead before you ever see these items again." he added

Codrius said nothing as he dusted himself off bfore being forced to move on by a simple push from Serkiv. As they walked , Codrius watched from the top level, as guards try to break up a fight in the dining facility.

"So uncivilized." commented Codrius

"And what makes you any better?" questioned Kadro

"Because I don't commit such brutality." commented a smiling Codrius

"Then explain the confrontation with the Evorunian patrol ship a month ago." he said with a little smile

"It was self defense." He said smiling

"And the one you took out twenty days ago?" he asked

"I had the right of way and they recklessly cut me off when I was trying to enter the planets atmosphere." he said

"And the one seven days ago?" he asked

"We were conducting target practice at asteroids and they came out of Relkium jump while we were firing." he said smiling with the other guards having a little smile too "And I figure since I didn't kill anyone, I be on my way." he said

"Can't let you go for free captain." said the veteran having a little smile

"Well I could pay you." he said

"Do you have the money on you?" he asked

"Sure." he said smiling "I just need to go get my coat back in that storage compartment." he said turning around but the men would not let him and was forced to turn around

"Afraid its not that simple captain." he said

"And why is that old man?" he asked hovering over his shoulder while they walked on until they got to the office of the warden

They opened the door and inside was the warden, Tajin Gulth, a Normosh veteran during the Halgrith war, evident by both arms being robotic, along with two guards as old as Kadro if not older, and a man who wore an Evorunian uniform, but Codrius knew him quite well.

"Captain Erglon Mathrus of the Evorunian military." Said Codrius as he sat there with a plain look "I certainly am touched that Trelphas has sent one of his best after me." He said

"I am the best, and don't you forget it." He said

"But not smart because if you were, you wouldn't have taken this job. But I can't expect someone with as big of an ego as yours to listen to all the signs that were in front of you the entire time."he said smiling

As Codrius smiled, captain Mathrus heard the sound of a pistol charging behind his head. Codrius stood up with the shackles were already off of his wrist. Madren looked for a split second at them laying on the ground. They were not tampered with. Then he realized that they were never locked for the light was still red. He quickly thought of the man that put them on. He quickly turned to Serkiv with his pistol loaded. His eyes turned only to see the tip of a pistol pressed up against his head. Kadro tried lifting his weapon but a second pistol was held up to his head. They were not the only ones pointing weapons as the two uards as old as Kadro if not older pointed their guns at the warden, and Mathrus.

"Well done Serkiv." said a smiling Codrius looking at the man who held the rifle to Madren taking off his hat "Same for you too Tormar and Kentor." he said looking to the two old men

The security man they believed they knew, holstered one of his pistols. He then removed his hat and rubbed his messy brown hair. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a pack of cigarettes and put one in his mouth. He lit up his cigarette looking at Madren smiling while blowing a cloud of smoke in his face that Madren was not fond of.

"Never change who you are kid." he said to him before sticking the cigarette back in his mouth and turning his back to him

"Tell the old man and Trelphas I will see him soon." Said Codrius before looking to his colleagues "Where are the others?" Codrius asked looking to his men

"Already waiting for us." said Tormar

Codrius could not breath a sigh of relief thinking they were home free as the sound of several alarms started going off. The red lights in the room and all over the station began to go off everywhere. Immediately guards all over the station began to scramble while the prisoners of the station banged on their cell doors yelling and screaming.

"Someone is attacking the station?" said Madren

Codrius rushed out to the main halls and looked out the large windows in the direction of the planet Karsd. Fifteen battle cruiser ships came out of Relkium jump. They were ships of different variety, not many of them looked like they were in great condition .

"Kreduunians." said Codrius

The Kredunnians were a rebellious force consisting of rival war gangs and outlaws that is at war with the Normosh system. Though they lack in up to date technology, they are experienced fighters and have a will to win that was hard to match . Consisting of several races that do not answer to the laws of the alliance. For decades the gangs of Kreduun system have been at war with each other up until over a month ago. They have been targeting the Normosh system and started a war. Despite not having the advantage in military strength or military technology their military techniques had the Normosh military guessing.

The alarms of the prison stations were going off. The alarms on the planet were going off as well. Fifty Normosh fighters along with four cruisers launched from Karsd to intercept the ships. The fighters the Kreduunians were flying were older models of Premderian fighters consisting of Z-1s and an armed transport shuttle that was an H-2, both being models that have not been used in over a decade.

"Something is not right. The alert fleet hasn't arrived." said the veteran security guard looking to Codrius

"This wasn't any of my doing. And from the looks of it, it does not look like a fight you men are going to be able to win." he said smiling

"Someone planned a little further ahead then I did." said Codrius putting on his coat and hat

"From the looks of it, they are pretty well prepared." said Serkiv

They watched on as the several squadrons of fighters continued to approach in fast speed. Back on Karsd, the alarms would also be going off. In the hanger pilots scrambled to their fighters. While they jumped into their cockpits, the first two fighters formed on the runway and waited for a moment until they got the signal that they were cleared to launch. The lead fighter pilot began accelerating his and leaned back in his seat. The fighter jerked suddenly and went barely a couple feet before suddenly exploding catching everyone off guard. The second fighter suffered the same fate. Soldiers began to scramble as one by one the fighters began to explode. Shortly after the bay door exploded destroying any way out. The smoke was visible to the Kreduunian fighters could see it along with the people at the prison stations.

"All wings report in." ordered the lead fighter of the Kreduunians

"Barin leader here all wings are go." said the first call

"Cavun leader here all wings are go." said the second call

"Delvek leader here all wings are go."said the third call

"Ralsol good to go." said the pilot of a drop ship

"This is Arok leader all wings are up." said the lead fighter

"Copy that." said a male voice from the lead cruiser ship

"Ralsol stay close." said the lead fighter

"Just keep the path clear and we will take care of the rest Arok leader." said the pilot from the drop ship looking over to Arok leader

"Don't you worry about that." he said looking to his left at the pilot of the drop ship before they all flew ahead to begin the assault on the prison station

The turrets elevated up and took aim at the oncoming fighters quickly approaching. The guards behind the monitors quickly took control and began firing. The fighters quickly kept a tight pattern making their targets not so easy to hit. Their reflexes and maneuvers together were perfect and did not receive a scratch as they got closer to being in range for their assault. The perfection lasted only so long as one in the Arok squadron found himself having difficulty behind the cockpit and slowly drifting away.

"Arok four pull up." said Arok leader noticing him drifting down and away from the tight attack formation

"Right engine is stalling." said the pilot as he kept calm and quickly tried to get it back while still trying to hold formation but found himself slowly breaking away making him an easy target for the defense turrets

"Eject Arok four." said the leader of Arok squadron

"I can fix it." he said being persistent

Before the problem could be fixed the turrets already had locked onto him and fired a couple shots. The first was a direct hit dropping his shields. The second was enough to take out the fighter all together making it go into several pieces. The four fighter squadrons broke off and began their assault. They quickly took out the defense turrets one by one. No other fighters would be brought down by the attack as they destroyed each one. Inside Codrius and the others felt the station shake and the site of a drop ship coming in fast.

"They are going to board." said Codrius noticing

"I strongly recommend we move." said the warden

Before they did, Codrius motioned for his men to hand back the weapons of the guards, the warden, and Captain Mathrus. None of them argued knowing they needed to work together in order to survive this attack. They began moving fast.On their sprint down he halls, Codrius halted at the sight of the now abandoned storage area. The guards took off in a hurry leaving the place undefended but still secure. Codrius looked to Tajin for a moment. Tajin did not mind and opened the doors with his clearence Codrius found the storage locker for his items. Inside he put on his long black leather trench coat, his black pirate hat, and the sword the guard of the storage refused to take care of. They did not waste any more time and began running to try and find a means of escape.

"This is Ralsol. I am going in." said the pilot

"I copy Ralsol." said Arok leader forming up alongside the drop along with the others of his squadron

Two in the Arok squad took out the two turrets on the side of the docking bay. The leader of Arok squad fired two missiles blasting a hole in the docking bay doors. Arok squad broke off while Ralsol quickly put on the accelerators with the emergency outer bay doors began to close. The pilot of the Ralsol cut it close but still made it with plenty of time in his eyes. The Ralsol pilot quickly pulled the trigger on his joystick shooting off two missiles to blast open the inner bay doors. The security guards of the prison station quickly rushed in and took cover and started shooting at the drop ship.

The drop ship quickly turned and lowered the ramp door. The ramp lowered and several soldiers wearing black military grade equipment along with high tech helmets,a military grade face mask that covered their faces completely with built in sensors, began firing in different directions quickly making the guards take cover where ever they could while the ship landed. When the ship finally landed the pilot of the Ralsol undid the straps to his seat and grabbed a rifle off the wall while watching his men continue to fire. Codrius poked his head around the door and watched as the guards of the prison station began to be pushed back by the assault team that showed to be much superior. Codrius ran by the door along with the rest of the group but Madren stopped and looked for a moment.

Madren just watched on as the masked man continue to go through security as if they were mere recruits, that have never even been in a fight before. Shots were fired in all different directions, but the attackers reflexes were too good. He could see them coming and knew how and where to move. He was not any ordinary Kreduunian rebel. He was something more than that. He led the charge not fearing his life would come to an end. Before the chance came that he would be spotted he quickly caught up to the rest of the group.

While running several security guards were running down another hall way. The guards quickly halted and began firing in the direction while Codrius and the others took cover around the corner. The guards pressed forward while suppressing their enemy. Madren quickly poked out and shot a few shots before being pinned down again. The shots continued to keep them pinned down before they heard the sound of gun shots but were not aimed towards them and Codrius could hear the sounds of their screams.

"Run." screamed one of the guards before hearing the sound of his throat being sliced open and the sound of him coughing on his own blood "She is out. She is out." screamed another before hearing his flesh be sliced open

Several guards were covered in blood from deep cut marks from claws. They looked up and saw her have one of the guards shooting his weapon not even coming close to her. She drove her claws quickly into his chest and twisted her hand slowly so it would be extremely painful for him. She quickly heard the sound of a pistol close to her head and quickly her the sound of a gunshot fired. The guard quickly dropped to the ground with Kitras looking to where it came from.

"Come to restrain me?" she asked him

"We just saved you from getting several holes put in you and you think I wish to bring you back to your cell?" joked Madren

"I never asked for your help." she said turning her back to the group and quickly slitting the throat of one of the wounded guards trying to pick up his weapon. "And do not tell me that they did not have it coming guard Destrit. You have seen the way that some of them treat us." she said kicking the corpse of the guard

"Let me handle this." said Codrius holding his hand up even though Madren was hesitant to lower his rifle "Trust me." he said lowering it slowly for him approaching Kitras quite slowly but quite calmly at the same time "You know the options are quite limited getting off the ship. Either you can stay here and fend for yourself against both forces, where most likely you will be killed or you can come with us." he said

"What do you want?" she questioned

"To help you." said the captain

In their conversation Madren took notice to shadows behind the corner and quickly pushed Codrius away along with Kadro firing his weapon. The guards quickly poked their heads out and began firing several shots. shots were fired. One drove into the back of Sardels head making his eyes roll up and dropping to the floor. The warden shot several times before he could lift his weapon to fire a shot and was dead before he hit the ground.

Kadro got shot twice fell forward but quickly stood back up and fired off a couple shots but the invading force quickly took cover before shooting off a couple more rounds striking Kadro in the chest.

"Get the kid out of here." said the veteran guard before being shot several more times making Madren emerge from the corner and fire off several shots to make the invading force take cover again

Madren tried to go back but Codrius pulled him back behind the walls. Madren accepted it after a second and followed behind the captain of the Burning Storm. They finally moved until they came to a walk way that was two different directions. One led to the docks on the east part of the space station and the other to the docks on the west part.

"Come with us Mathrus." said Codrius

"Thanks but I will take my chances getting back to my ship but the thought of owing you is annoying." he said looking to the east docks

"Yeah well you do captain." he said before they proceeded down the halls to the west dock. Waiting for them were over a dozen dead guards with their blood spilled all over the place. Waiting at the ramp of one of the prison shuttles was a Rusdarian with two swords on his back having a big smile. Next to him was a Semforsian holding a spear.

"About time you showed up." said the Rusdarian swordsman

"Good to see you too, Talek." he said looking to the Rusdarian that continued to smile "And you as well Buldor." looking to the Semforsian who just gave a little growl nodding his head before hearing the sound of gunshots.

They quickly scrambled up the ramp at the sound of several guards chasing them. Madren continued to fire Codrius pulled him up the ramp while it closed. Codrius quickly ran to the cockpit where Tormar rushed to the pilot seat.

"Get us out of here Tormar." he ordered

"Already on it." he told him with a little smile quickly taking off

No force took notice to them fleeing from the space station. The fighter squadrons were already pulling back with their fleet along with a few additional drop ships. When they were in the clear Codrius turned his attention back to Madren.

"Not bad kid." said the captain while he took a deep breath

"Thank you sir." said Madren

"There is no need to thank me yet kid." he said smiling patting him on the shoulder "The question is now, what to do with you?" he said looking at Talek who took out his blade and held it to his throat

"You wish to beg." questioned Talek

"I am not one to beg sir." he said

Codrius watched on from behind Talek. While he watched there was something familiar about the young man that reminded him of someone else. During his watch he noticed something that shined from the light of the ship, just barely sticking out of Madrens shirt.

"Hold on a second Talek." said Codrius noticing something shining from underneath Madrens shirt

Codrius pulled it out to be visible to him so he could be sure. His thoughts were correct. Even looking at a small piece of the medallion he could take notice to it. When he read the name on the medallion, he raised one eye brow.

"Tormar do you remember Ceredine Destrit?" he questioned

"Why?" he shouted back to him before looking back to notice Madren sitting there with a blade to his neck showing no intimidation to the fact that death could be a second away from greeting him "We could use him." he said looking to his captain

"Very well then." said Codrius who turned his back to him

Madren watched the captain walk away while the Rusdarian swordsman put his sword away and extended his hand to him helping him to his feet giving him a little smile. He watched from the cockpit as Tormar flew them to a moon that was opposite of the Kreduunian fleet and far from any sensors picking them up and was surrounded by a small asteroid field that could prove to be difficult to maneuvered if not done right. On the dark end of the moon Tormar would have to hit the lights. They flew in somewhat low and Madren watched until he found himself looking upon a rare treat. His eyes got to look upon the sight of one of the fiercest ships in the galaxy, The Burning Storm. He watched in awe as the ship lifted off the ground and drifted high above the moon and opened its docking bay doors on the port side of the ship. Waiting for them was an Elsarian sorceress holding her staff. Codrius quickly greeted her with a kiss and wrapped his arms around her before noticing one among them was missing and another that she has not seen before was among them.

"What happened to Serkiv?" she asked

Codrius was silent but her touch on his cheek made his guilt feel easier to bear. She then took notice to Madren still dressed in his security uniform making the girl have some interest. Madren was not hesitant to walk up the captain and ask a question.

"Where do you need me sir?" he asked

"Already eager to earn your place?" he questioned

"I just want to know where my place is on the ship sir." he said smiling

"First introductions must be made." he said looking to the female Elsarian and putting his arm over her shoulder "This is my love Belreka, and is second in command in my absence." he said

At navigator, was a female Versallian, a rare sight knowing there were few left in the galaxy as their planet was wiped out by the Halgriths. She did not waste time and pulled up the map of the galaxy and zoomed in on the area where they were in the galaxy. Along with the rest of the galaxy and activity of the alliance military fleets. Looking at the maps was a man also in his mid fifties but dressed more for engineer and mechanical work given his goggles and his tool belt. They all circled around the galaxy map and observed. Where they were was just on the edge of alliance core space and inside the mid core worlds sector. Codrius found it strange that Kreduunians would attack so far from their system that was in the outer rim sector.

"How are we looking Arlmy?" asked the captain

"Suggest we get moving sir before the response fleet gets here." said the female Versallian

"What do you suggest Kentor?" he asked looking at the galaxy

"Premderia is our safest bet." Said the man as he plotted in the system with the navigation computer showing the lone planet of the system "I suggest we make for Prenos, and pray that our allies are still available to us." he said clicking on the west sector of the planet and that enlarged showing the statistics of the planet

Codrius looked at the planet for a moment and was not a stranger to it or the people of the system. He looked to Kentor and gave the nod to proceed. Kentor quickly plugged in the coordinates while Codrius proceeded to sit in his captains chair.

"Been a long time since I have set foot there." Said Tormar

"It has been a long time since any of us have been there my friend." Said Codrius leaning back in his captains chair

Tormar smiled as he looked at the planet on the hologram. He continued to stare at it as the statistics of the planet came up. As he did Belreka walked up beside him. She said nothing as they both gazed at the hologram as it continued to list the statistics of the planet.

"Thinking about the boy?" she asked

"He would be twenty five this year." Said Tormar

"Well I am sure there will be time to go see him." She said

"I wouldn't know what to say." He said

"I don't think any of us would." She said looking at the hologram of the planet with her loyal friend

The captain of the Burning Storm sat there in his chair while the crew around him carried on with their jobs. His mind was racing with memories about the planet, not all of them being pleasant either. He grabbed a small data pad and looked at the information on the planet. His search led him to investigate the region known as Prenos. From what he was reading, a lot of trouble has been brewing on the planet, that made him second guess his decision to go back but found that it was a decision he had not much of a choice in the situation he was in.
