mountain ranges

i loved her all the way from
                whiteface to gore to stewart
                and back again.

                it wasn’t love behind a
                computer screen but
                passion that wrote
                itself across the sky
                and right over my
                heart.

                we fell for words instead
                of faces
                promises instead
                of kisses:
                burning stars
                that never
                got around
                to touching
                ground zero.

                three hours wasn’t
                fate. it was a nightmare.

                but it was ours,
                and we lived it
                through every
                night.

                until we were
                beyond
                saving.

bjas

                she was
                a girl that
                wrote beautiful
                poetry and decided
                to share it with
                the world (with me)
                and i found her words
                beneath constellations
                on campfire nights.

                i remember the
                time (8:43 PM
                she sent me a
                message to
                mention how
                 my futile
                attempts at
                literature
                were lovely
                beyond
                comprehension

                and before the
                stars had gone
                back to rest
                my skype
                was in her
                hands
                and
                so was
                i.
