“It’s all gone digital!

“No it hasn’t!”

There are still those

Who caress old books

And treasure the printed word

Revelling in the texture

And the typeface.

Devotees of the beloved tome

Revere lofty libraries

Browse pre-loved bookshops

Delight in the treasures

Unearthed in neglected studies

Savouring the musty air

And breathing deep the dust.

Clear, bright screens

With readable fonts

And ease of storage

Do have their place.

But the true follower

Still seeks after

Tangible covers

Beguiling print

Well- thumbed pages

Volumes with heart.
