The tunnel in the tree

There by the pond stands a tall Oak Tree

It must be the oldest in the town

Birds come to rest on it peacefully as you hear their chirping sounds

It’s branches reach out like a giants arms

You can even see faces in its bark

When the wind gently blows it gives way to light

As the day draws in the dark

At night the secret opening at the bottom of the tree

Allows tiny little creatures to come on in for tea

They climb a tunnel right up to the top

And they meet and talk with friends

These clever little insects have fun until nights end

So from now on when you go  to bed and you wonder of the things you saw

Just Remember the special old oak tree that invites it’s friends to keep warm indoors
