"Mhm What time is it?" Kaylin said ridding her eyes as she was searching for her phone. She finally managed to grab it and pressed the home button. The light glared as kaylin read the time "3am! Why am I even awake?" Kaylin thought as she noticed something wasn't right. "Why do I feel like something's wrong? I should go check on my mom and my siblings" Kaylin Crawled out of bed feeling the icy cold floor beneath her feet as she walked out into the hall. "I hate the dark" she murmured to herself has she turned the flashlight on from her phone. "I guess I will check Kyles room first." Kyle was Kaylin's twelve year old little brother. Though they faught quite often kaylin cared deeply for her game odessessed little brother. Kaylin peered into kyles room seeing that he was fine. When she was closing the door she noticed the door was open to her dad's room. David who was Kaylin's dad passed away last November. It's February now and February things were better but the memories and pain keep haunting Kaylin, like a ghost that's unseen. It's not just her dad that hurts her. Last summer Sam her former boyfriend left her for someone else. Since then kaylin hasn't had to many friends. Only her neighbor Sarah but she was like a sister. Kaylin walked towards her dad's room knowing she shut it before she went to bed. "Its was always so cold his His room" she thought as she peeked in the large room with two big wide windows and the empty bed just sitting there. she closed the door to the cold room and walked to Anaiah's room her ten year old little sister. Kaylin opened the door and saw anaiah sleeping peacefully with her stuffed animal se called Horsey by her side "She is the cutest" kaylin thought closing the door. "I guess I just need to see if my moms ok" kaylin walked to her moms room and saw her asleep too. "I guess it was just my imagination then." Kaylin walked back to her room but stopped next to her room and stared at her dad's door. It was open. Wide open. "I swear I shut that" she muttered. She walked towards the door wanting to close it again. "This is way to creepy" kaylin was about to shut the door when she saw a strange glowing like coming from one of the large windows in her dad's room. "What the heck is that?" Kaylin though as she walked closer to the window. She look through the window and saw a blue shimmering light coming from the woods. "What the hell" kaylin murmured gong back to her room shutting the door behind her. When she was in her room she immediately opened her curtains and looked through her window seeing the blue light again but it wasn't just one blue light there where dozens of not just blues but greens, purples, light pinks, and so many more. "Why isn't anyone seeing this!" She shut her curtains to go wake up her mom when the lights got brighter and the door to her room shut fast. Kaylin jumped seeing that her door just shut by its self. "I must me dreaming" she said looking back out the window seeing the lights move around. "I am at least gonna wake up Kyle" kaylin jumped out of bed where she was looking out the window beside her bed and ran to Kyle's room trying not to be to loud. Kyle had a window next to his desk facing the same woods Kaylin's and her dad's window did. "Kyle! Kyle!" Kaylin said shaking her brother. "Wake up I want to show you something outside" Kaylin said walking towards the window opening the curtains fast. "What the heck it's the middle of the night kaylin" kyle said getting out of bed to shut the curtains. "No it's actually 3:17" she said gesturing to the black alarm clock on his desk. "Anyways that's not the point. Look outside! There are so many lights with a number of colors!" She said opening the dark blue curtains once again. Kyle walked over to the windows and shut them. "Kaylin stop lying. There is nothing out there but plain old boring woods with coyotes in it. Go back to bed!" Kyle walked back to bed and pulled the covers over himself. "But I swear! They are there. You just can't see them!" Kaylin said opening the curtains to prove her point. "what if he can't see them. What if no one else can see them but me?" She thought closing the curtains instead. "Fine I will go" she said to her brother leaving the room and closing the door behind her. "Am I going crazy?" She went back to her room shutting the door and getting into bed while looking through the window. "I still see them she thought" while dazing off to sleep.
