The Rainbow Of Dreams
Introduction
A book where I; Kevin Edgar van Jaarsveld share my writing, revealing a side of myself that is very rarely seen. Chest out, head up, heart on the sleeve.
In 1999 with a small time poetry rendition at school, this seed was planted and sadly not watered until a good few years later. I started writing again at age 17 and couldn't stop, poetry bit and took over. Join me as I take you on journey with nothing more than words, nouns and verbs all brought to life through my poetry.
To inspire, to move... to paint pictures with ink stained hands with nothing but words.
"To dream a dream" - "After every storm comes a rainbow". The rainbow of dreams, a poetic anthology of love, hurt, loss and victory!
Acknowledgements
First and foremost I want to thank God our heavenly Father for His continuous blessings and favor in my life for one does not become a poet, you are born one.
Then to my family and friends; your continuous support, presence and guidance made all this possible. Words cannot express my love for you. Thank you for never giving up on me.
To my spiritual mentor and grandfather; D/Ev Alan Woodman, your continuous spiritual guidance and teaching has had a tremendous impact on my life, both in spirit and in flesh. Thank you for this.
A special thank you to my sisters: Carmen Vassen, Raylene Williams, Layla Goodman, Nicolle Beeby, Kim Goff and Tarryn Booysen. For someone with no biological sisters, I am blessed to have you all in my life. Lief julle!!
Then to the many who have inspired the poetry in this anthology; I want to thank you for the moments we shared together, cried together, laughed together, had fun together, talked, loved together, hurt together and wrote poetry together . I merely attempted to capture the essence of our meeting in what is to follow and I honor you and thank you for your inspiring impact in my life:
Through your hearts and souls poetry was instilled and born in me and now I share this with you and the world.
