Chapter 1

Sarah Addely sighed into her soup. She sloshed it around angrily with her spoon and glared at it when it didn't improve her mood. The door opened to the kitchen, and Sarah found herself wishing for the second time that morning, she had her magic back. Instead she was limited to what her basic instincts told her and unfortunately she found they couldn't turn her invisible or turn her into a crow. With a little too much joy, Sarah's older sister Lauren came in and sat down. Without a word, Lauren stared at her sister intensely and then down at Sarah's soup. Sarah lowered her head sorrowfully, as she looked down at her soup she saw it start to move and gurgle. Shooting her head up, Sarah stared wide eyed at her sister, whose gaze was fixed on the soup. Lauren blinked. The soup exploded. The bowl rolled on its base as Sarah wiped her breakfast off of her face.

"You have your magic back? How is that fair." Sarah growled sadly into the tea towel she had grabbed from the cookers handle and whined. Rather smugly, Lauren leant back into her chair and pointed out of the window as her arm rested cockily on the back of the stall.

"Look outside." She said. Sarah did as she was told and screamed. In her bed socks, Sarah slid to the back door and pulled it open.

"How did you get us here? We haven't been to Dellspring forest in ages." Sarah squeeled. She looked round to see Lauren leaning over the kitchen table and wiping soup from the wood. They grinned to each other.

"My magic just kind of happened after talking to Derja." Lauren said quickly. Sarah moved her head, her brow knitted together.

"I hope your ex boyfriend apologised." She said protectively. Lauren looked away.

Chapter 2

Sarah and Lauren had most of their clothes on backwards as their hair was tangled and unbrushed. They walked through the woodlands hand in hand and followed its twisting untrodden paths until they came to a small wagon. Sarah couldn't take her gaze off of the wagon and fought the urge to run up to her sisters home and knock on the window. As they neared Sarah noticed their wasn't actually any Windows but still had lovely flower pots and shrubs dotted around the outside. Lauren knocked on the door, they waited with held breath and they waited for a long time.

Lauren sighed and clicked her fingers, with a red spark the door clicked but wouldn't open. Lauren clicked again, with a purple spark the door clicked but still wouldn't open. A turquoise spark was useless as well as a pink, a green and an orange one. Lauren screamed in aggravation. Sarah fell back. Her breath became quickened in the warm sun lit woods and she felt her insides swell up with fear. Numbly she tapped Lauren on the shoulders but refused to wait for Lauren, Sarah walked towards the body slowly. The woodlands erupted into  a swirling current of air and heat as Sarah's magic filled the air.

Agathas body rested lifelessly amongst the tree. Her neck had broken inside the noose that bound her to the tree. Lauren screamed and ran towards their aunt.

"No, no, no please no." The sisters sobbed.

Chapter 3

Hazel Addely winced at her painting, the colours were off and the shading was a catastrophe. Throwing her paint brush down the witch stormed across her boyfriends flat. She waved her hand to shut the balcony doors. Hazel tried again and again and again. When nothing happened, she closed her eyes slowly and muttered an incantation. As nothing happened, Hazel stood up and closed the doors, as she stood behind the glass the sight of Grenlick town caught in her mind. A small whisp of cloud had cascaded down from the hills and people had started to hang ribbons and banners over the many alleys and rooftops.

There was a creak, she gasped and spun round.

Stretching her neck, Hazel called into the shadows of her flat.

"Derek is that you?" She hoped it wasn't as the loving undertone of her voice made her cringe. There was another creak, followed by several more.

"Derek?" She asked. Bravely pulling her bedroom door she saw the shadow escape through her window. After her fear had subsided and her heart beated noisily in her ear, Hazel checked the bedroom for anything that might be missing. With shaking hands she moved everything around but couldn't see anything.

It was too late to do anything by the time she saw the intruder. She fell unconsciously into their arms.

"Find her spell book." She heard them say as they dragged her through her boyfriends home.
