The brain is a part of us, the part that makes us who we are and who we will be for our entire lives. My name is Oliver Strike and soon my future will be full of glory, I hope. I am a scientist, actually the best in both my department and building although my parents own the lab so I am filthy rich! I just want to be more than just a genius! Tonight however, I have to deliver a presentation. I start to get ready but then my sister Destiny walks in "oh you and science, so your going to do a presentation on the future?" She's asks, she just thinks I'm a nerd, can't I be something more? "Well yes, haven't you seem the movie back to the future?" I chuckle but than realise that she hasn't watched it then my smile makes its way to a frown.

Footsteps pass the lab; it's our parents on their daily invention. Normally I'm fascinated in what they are doing but at the moment I have to focus on my big break! My parents start to whisper to each other "so do you think this particle accelerator will work on the children?" Dad jumps with joy "oh it's a work of science, soon our children will turn out like us, saving the world!" Mum excitingly shrieks.

 I walk into the ballroom in my blue tuxedo, rather delicate and fragile like how I am going to change my cities future into glory! My parents start to mumble, I start to approach them. "Tonight's the night my dear!" Mum jumps with exhilaration "the night of what exactly?" I suspiciously ask "uhhhhh... You changing the cities future of course..." Dad hesitates for a moment, I wonder why. I start to walk away, trying to think about what they are up to, but I don't mind, I will find out soon as they aren't really good at keeping secrets. 

I walk up on to the stage, a little nervous, but it will be fine! "Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the future!" I gasp with joy, I just hope my flying car works! Everyone thuds their hands together loudly whilst they continuously clap. "It's time!" My parents mumble, I see dad pull out a big machine "my beloved son and daugher I hope you love this gift!" Dad pushes a button and a surge of light shoots into the air, it strikes both Destiny and I and we collapse onto the floor. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY CHILDREN YOU CRAZY MAN?" Mum screams in fear as she runs towards us worried. Three policemen approach my dad "care to explain yourself?" They ask wisely "oh sorry no got to go!" Dad tries to run but he is caught by the police, they put him in a van and drive off.

 Everything suddenly goes blurry, should've gone to SpecSavers! My eyes begin to open and I see another person lying on another single bed next to me, it's my sister! I hear screaming, it's my mother! But where is dad? My sight is now properly clear, mum has a smile on her face but then my sisters eyes start to open! "Your back, I'm so glad, I was so worried!" Mum jumps with joy but comforts us both "where is dad?" I ask confused "sadly he went to prison... He was a great man" mum cries as she looks at his picture "why did he go to prison?" Destiny asks "well, you wonder why you're in a coma, the truth is dad shot that machine at you so that you could become legendary superheroes but it went wrong, that's why you're in a coma" she sighs as her tear drops down her cheek and on to the floor. "Wait how long have we been in a coma for?" Destiny asks "well about 6 months" I guess mum is happy we woke up but disappointed dad is in prison.
