Chapter 1

She sat on her throne, her eyes looking cold and menacing. Her lips pressed were into a thin line. She eagerly awaited for the news which she wanted to hear since past three decades. She wanted them to be annihilated.  Her fiery tresses flowed down her shoulder, razor sharp fangs on display; she snarled in annoyance. She squared her shoulders, and her pale porcelain skin illuminated against the torches’ flame hung on the wall.  There was barely any light; their windows were shut preventing the infiltration of the sun rays. The hall looked gloomy and dull. It was her personal vendetta against them. She could only fool the Goddess once. She knew even gods didn't favour her anymore. This situation had to be handled personally.

"Victor why is it taking so long?" She grumbled. The door of The Great Hall burst open, "My Queen, I apologise for my dilatory! But I am very glad to inform you that the reinforcements you sent to finish the task have been successfully effectuated. All Hail to Her Highness, Our Queen Lamia." The news bearer bowed in front of her. The power of victory coursed through her veins, rejuvenating her, and soon a dark and sinister smile spread across her face. She heard the choruses of her praises and glory. She looked agile and soft, but the truth was far from it,"No one was spared, right?" She asked in a humming tone as she basked in the victory.

"No one my Queen, Not even woman and children." The news bearer confirmed. “Good,” she rose from her seat and so did her councilmen. "Where is the boy?" Lamia asked. "Dead," Victor replied curtly. Lamia displayed her fangs at his blatant disrespect. Victor hung his head low. "And his body?" She questioned as she took a very purposeful step in his direction. "Burning with others, My Queen," Victor replied not daring to look into her eyes. "Are you sure about that?" Lamia asked him with narrow eyes, trying to contemplate whether he is lying or not. "Yes, My Queen. I pledge on my loyalty towards you," Victor slowly looked into her eyes and answered. They both stared at each other, and after few moments Lamia gave him sickeningly sweet smile and patted his shoulder as she walked back to her throne.  "Of course, I never doubted your loyalty, Victor," Lamia chirped resulting in snickering amongst her councilmen.  She stood on the podium, and she raised her hand to silence them. Her sharp eyes swept across the room, and started addressing the audience, "Tonight, We celebrate! We celebrate our victory. We celebrate the annihilation of Lycans! Let it be known that We, Nightcrawlers are the new rulers of Ajbo," She finished her speech and descended the steps. She revelled in the hollering of her councilmen. She could hear the cries of joys of her soldiers.  She had eliminated every potential threat which would come in her and the throne. She had effectively falsified the prophecy as there is no living Lycans on the face of Ajbo. She now is the  Queen of the land for the rest of eternity. The sense of pride and satisfaction never tasted so sweet to her. It was sweeter than the blood of a mortal infant. Her thirst for the throne was far more potent than her bloodlust. Soon, she would win the mortal world as well. Those wretched Gods will kneel before her. Especially the Lordly Helios. He was too imperious, and she would love to see him bowing in front of her when his pride will be at her feet.  She had found the source to resurrect her lost army, and now there was no one to stop her from bringing the apocalypse of the mortal world all will fall at her feet. She just has to find a way to break the ancient magic, and she knew who exactly can help her.  She walked out of the Great Hall and looked behind her back. Her two loyal soldiers following her. They stopped in their tracks and were very well aware of the fact that the Queen now wanted to be alone. They hung their head low and took two steps backs.

Lamia started walking further down the hallway which leads to a spiral staircase. She began walking down towards the dimly lit hallway leading to the dungeon. The cell was cold and unsettling just like the ruler. Every prisoner present cowered back in fear as she was walking towards one particular cell.

She halted just before the door and looked at the guard standing in front of her, the guard quickly kneeled in front of her and opened the door for her. She turned towards the guard and commanded, "Disperse."

She entered the prison and locked the door after entering. Inside there sat an old woman in her late seventies with messy silver white hair cracked lips, bruised cheeks and a swollen eye. But she had a smile on her face. Her condition was rather gruesome as there was dried flakes of blood on her forehead. She was bound by shackles around her ankles and hands. The older woman threw a taunting smile in Queen's direction. Lamia glared at the woman and kneeled so that she could come to eye level with her, "I have killed them. I have killed them all." Lamia declared haughtily. "Your prophecy now will not come true, and I am going to be the Goddess," Lamia laughed cynically.

The woman's expressions turned grim. She knew her prophecy would never go wrong. She came from the line of the first born Seers, offsprings of Angels and Witches, since the time they were created. Her blood flowing through her veins was the only reason why she could survive the torment of Lamia this long. She had disguised her appearance as the old lady so as to fool Lamia, as she waited for the very someone, who is going to need her help when the time is right. All she had to do is wait. Hearing Lamia's words broke her reverie as she concentrated on safeguarding one particular person. The woman in front of her who was laughing was nothing but a fool to think that bunch of Nosferatu's could bring the boy down. She wanted to scream at the Queen and tell her that she was wrong. That the boy is still alive, and that she still is very much in danger. "What happened, Amelia? Have you nothing to say?" The Queen taunted. Amelia just hung her head low." I hope you enjoy your life while you can because you will be dead soon," Lamia muttered as she shut the door of the prison. “I could say the same," murmured Amelia once she knew that Lamia cannot hear her. She closed her eyes and focused on the boy who will stop the monstrosity being brewed by Lamia. She saw that he was alive. Barely, but alive. She knew that his beast would not surface unless the beacon to his beast which will call him out finds him. His army. She chanted spells which will make confine him from any dark magic which will be sent after him to find whether he is living or dead. He and his beast were the only things standing in between Lamia and her plans of obliteration.

Chapter 2

Gabriel ran through the woods for his dear life. Sharp tree branches and thorns tearing his tender skin. He ran as fast as the feet of a twelve-summer-old boy could. Tears brimming in his eyes blurred his sight. He had seen those monsters ripping apart his family, his people.

Gabriel’s  mother had ordered him to run and not to look back, no matter what happened. He felt powerless because of his inability to save his family. He heard excruciating howls and growls of his pack. He heard the screams of little children being ripped apart. He saw men being torn from limb by limb. He saw women being forced to do terrible things. Bile rose in his throat, and he vomited. The sight in front of him was abominable. His people were massacred. Seeing an opening of a cave, he ran inside and hid in the farthest and darkest corner. Their shrieks, voices, and screams reverberating in his ears.

He covered his ears to block out those voices. He started shivering as the temperature plummeted. He was alone and scared. He didn't remember when he fell asleep, but he promised to himself that he would avenge his pack, for the every single drop of blood spilt tonight by those leeches.

13 Summers later

He was sleeping in the cave which was his home for the past thirteen summers. He had grown a lot in those years. He had a scruffy beard, and the skin of dead bear covered his waist. He looked like a barbarian. His hair had grown and now reached his shoulders. He had a very hazy memory of the past which haunted him at night. He survived for thirteen years alone, away from his kind, or anyone remotely close to it. He was sure that his whole kingdom was burned to the ground right in front of his eyes. He was not sure if any of his people from his kingdom were alive. He looked at the sky and wondered when will he get his beast so that he could kill those leeches. When would he bring honour to his kingdom and his family? He looked at the sky which was lit with stars and the moon wondering about his mother, his uncle, his kingdom. Suddenly he heard the crunching and rustling of leaves. His posture immediately straightened in alarm. After living for so many years in the woods alone; he had learnt the law of survival.

He heard a branch being snapped. It seemed like a predator is out for hunting. He reached for his spade, his bow and arrows. He hurled it on his shoulder and crouched himself in an attacking stance. It was late in the night, and he could hear the chirping of crickets, water gushing between the rocks and wind howling through the woods creating an eerie echo in the woods. He heard the distant cry of some animal. He aimed his arrow in the direction of the sound, but it all of a  sudden he heard another howl coming from a different direction. The animal was not alone;  it was with its pack. . Taking an arrow he mounted it on his bow and aimed at the sound, but before he could release his bow, a sharp pain shot through his spine. He crippled to the ground on his knees. His palms were crushing the dry leaves beneath them, rough bark of trees pierced his skin as he tried to breathe through pain. He was panting heavily. The pain subsided for a moment but came back again with a vengeance. He screamed, pain lacing every sound of his. He started tossing around as the pain slowly consumed his whole body like fire. He had difficulty in breathing and it felt like every part of his body of his body was mauled by someone; he felt like his heart was being squeezed and his soul were being sucked out of his body. He thrashed violently on the ground and screamed. He could see animals surrounding him with his blurry vision, and he visibly panicked which resulted in more pain. It was so tremendous that it left him paralysed and even in his stricken condition he was aware of those animals crawling closer to him. He had never faced such attack in his life.” What were this creature?” He thought in his pained condition. He waited for them to attack, but they never did. They were observing him, waiting for something to happen. They formed a circle him and covered him completely as if they are shielding him from someone. He clawed at his skin, and he felt like his stomach was being churned. He felt bile rising his throat. One of the animals looked up at the sky and howled once again.

He felt a tremendous pressure in his brain as if something inside was forcing it to come out. He looked up at the sky and saw the moon again bathed in red. It was the blood moon. He felt his body growing, and the hair sprouted like animals' hide from his skin. He could feel teeth emerging from his gums. He saw his hands growing and nails transforming into claws.

With one final agonising shift which caused him to wail, the pain ceased. His new scream sounded foreign to his ears. It sounded more like those of an animal's whom he was going to hunt. The pain desisted completely, and his senses were heightened. "What happened to me?" He thought.

"You are one of us now, Alpha," He heard the voice inside his head.

He panicked as he had no idea who was talking to him.

"Rise, My Lord, The son of Queen Esmeralda and King Alexander Lycans, The Kings of the Wolves and the Lycans, Alpha Gabriel. We have waited for you for a long time. Rise, The First Ever Alpha King Gabriel," Again the voice said.

"Kronus," A very gruff voice spoke for the first time.

"Sorry, My Lord?" The voice asked inside Gabriel’s head asked.

"It is Lord Kronus for you!" Kronus commanded. Gabriel tried to control him, but the beast was too powerful for him to control. Gabriel growled with all his might, and Kronus submitted to him. Animals in front of Gabriel shifted themselves back in their human form. He felt the presence of someone more powerful and dominating inside him. It felt like it was just his other side but more dark, powerful, violent and commanding.  It felt like as if his conscience had more power than him, right now, on his body. He heard a voice inside his head. It was the conversation with his beast, and he realised the name of the beast was Kronus.

He was their Alpha, Their King. He was the first Lycan King ever in the history of Lycanthrope. He lost his father before his birth and mother thirteen summers before; who were the carriers of the curse. He saw few people kneeling in before him with their heads hung low. He stiffened as he had a pack to lead. He never imagined he would be leading anyone despite of  his bloodline. He stood stiffly, but his beast revelled in the respect that was given to him. Gabriel was happy that some of his people were still alive.

"Rise!" His beast commanded his voice reverberating through the woods and before he could take any action the beast inside him threw his head back howled to the moon. A calling of an Alpha. The howl was the command for letting any wolf in the land know that their Alpha has been awakened. The chorus of howls followed his howl. He could hear wolves running across the field to see the Alpha. The sight in front of him had Gabriel suck his breath. Thousands of wolves stood in front of him. All eyes fixated upon him. They had been without a leader for so long that their only instinct was now to survive. Hearing an Alpha’s howl had sent their wolves in a frenzy. The pull was so strong that no one had control over them, and they were drawn here just by his mere howl.  “Anyone wants to challenge me? Now is the time, Rise!”  His beast had used the command of an Alpha to challenge anyone who wants to claims this land.

All the people who knelt in front of him rose to their height, but they did not look into his eyes. They knew if they looked into his eyes longer than required, it would agitate the Lycan inside him who would have taken it as a challenge. Kronus eyes swept across the group sizing everyone up. Fixing his gaze on one, he narrowed his eyes. His Lycan growled. He could feel the power radiating off him. It was stronger than anyone's in the group. Kronus took it as a challenge. He growled louder and crouched himself in striking position. He growled once again challenging the person in front of him. He could feel his canines extending from his gums. His claws started growing. But before he could attack, the person got on his knees and hung his head low exposing his neck to Kronus.

"I am your Beta, Gab. I don't wish to challenge you, nephew."

His words were registered in Gabriel's mind, and they helped him to gain control of his beast. He shifted back to his human form and hugged his uncle. His only living relative; whom he was about to kill.. He hated that he was at the mercy of a beast who felt the need to kill because it was threatened. He never wanted his beast to be so power hungry.

"Uncle Rowan...it is you? How?" Gabriel whispered. It was too unreal to be true! He had seen his castle burning to the ground.

"Yes, it is me. We allowed our wolves to take charge for a night so that it could lead to our Alpha. We have been hiding for these many years. After Esmeralda asked you to run, a mystic force surrounded us We all  were apparated in the caves of Tsija. Tonight our wolf became restless, thrashing inside us. First we thought it was because they had been hiding so long that they wanted to go out, but Williams wolf shifted before we could control anything, and started running in the directions of Sacred mountains of Dapiya. It lead us to you, Gabriel  " Rowan replied.

“And, Mother?” Gabriel asked with keeping his emotion under control, but the colour of his eyes had changed to the eyes of an Alpha.  The alpha has surfaced back.

“I am sorry, Mi lord,” Rowan answered remorsefully.

Kill them! Kill them all! His beast snarled in his head. “Yes, Soon!” Gabriel promised his beast. He would kill all those vampires.
