A series of poems
an adventure it seems.
to what's behind the scenes,
each poem with a meaning
a piece of a story.
Some not so sweet,
with these poems.
I confess my life
my uprising and my flaws,
yet I still soar.
Car rides seem like a fever dream
going back and forward
from one house to the next.
At least I can see my mom and grandma,
well that was before my mom had to leave
like I said,
the car rides seemed like a fever dream.
I know now that it was hard leaving,
three kids begging and pleading
who knew a year would be long for me.
I was little then,
but when you left for Iraq
I felt my heart drop out of my seat.
Having you gone felt like an eternity to me
even after the army
the days you were on the train tracks seemed
long and lonely for me.
