Introduction

My mother looked nervous as she answered, "O-oh it's n-not even far from h-here." Sam and I both narrowed are eyes at her. Well obviously it was far from London by the way she stuttered and waved her hands around.

"Grandma, just spit it out." Sam had growled out in frustration.

"Okay okay okay don't rush me." just peel it out like a bandaid I heard her mutter to herself.

 Wow it must be far.

"I-i-is't i-in-" as she trailed off I saw my Grandma come into the room while rolling her eyes before ripping off the bandage.

"America"

That stung.

Life so far hasn't been great for 25 year-old Belle.

Prologue

My Dear Charles,

I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that boys grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you with be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairytales again. You can then take it down an upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it. But I shall probably be too deaf to hear, and too old to understand a word you say. But just remember, I'am always watching over you. Even if you can't see it.

Prologue

"Please, my baby needs a home!" I heard a girl with a English accent plead. The girl held a brown basket, that I was assuming held a baby from the loud cries it held.

"I'am sorry Miss, but there is no room for another child."I heard the nun say as she looked at the young girl in disgust. The girl wore a shredded white t-shirt- almost yellow- and a long black cardigan. I knew the girl was embarrassed by the red blush on her cheeks but at the moment it didn't look like she cared. She had no pants, but with the long cardigan it covered her. The girl looked to be at least 15, the same age as me. I would be lying if I said the girl was beautiful because she was covered in filth and it was impossible to even know what race she was.

"Please I would do anything! Just please take my baby!" the girl pleaded again which caused the baby to cry louder than it already was.

"It already seems as if you did anything to get knocked up with that baby. Now scram that baby's cries are going to wake up the children!" I was shocked at what the nun said and so was the girl. The nuns accent held so much disgust it was impossible for me not to walk up to them and give the nun what a she deserved, but I stayed still in the the tall tree, silently watching.

"No! Please I beg of you!" the nun had enough, she slammed the door shut leaving the crying girl and the crying baby all alone outside the London, orphanage.

I had to admit this was nothing compared to other things you see at night in London. I knew if you were looking for a good fight you'd go to Ricky's, Ricky would do anything for good business. The bad people to stay away from, especially at night.(not that I couldn't take care of myself)And I knew all the good people that's willing to take care of people. For example Nancy and Mike, nice old couple that could turn a homeless person into living a full blown celebrity life.

Should I help her?

Or should I just stay put in this large tree?

I had began my way back home.

I was walking I felt as if there was a barrier blocking me from leaving. I felt a sudden pull, as if I was tied and being pulled back into the direction of the crying girl and baby.

I let out a sigh and stopped struggling and began my way towards the crying girl and baby. The girl was not expecting my appearance as I slightly tapped her shoulder and she jumped back.

"Sorry to startle you but as I was walking I heard you crying."I lied not wanting to tell her I watched from the beginning towards her hysterical crying. The girl stared at me as if she was not believing I was talking to her. I stood there awkwardly thinking about turning around and leaving again. But something was telling me to help the child.

From my back pocket I pulled out a piece of paper and wrote down Nancy and Mike's number. I handed the girl the paper before pulling out tissue and handing it to her.

"Just give the number a call," she looked unsure so I quickly added," I promise it'll do you some good" before leaving.

1 week later

"She just left" Nancy said as I came to do my daily check-ups on them.

"What do you mean 'left' as in got up and left her bed or left as in gone?" I said beginning to panic. What if she took Sam?

Wait of course she would, that's her baby.

"As in gone," she said sadly "she even left her baby." at that my eyes brighten. She didn't take Sam with her!

"Well Nancy are you going to be able to take care of him?" I questioned knowing full well that she couldn't.

"Belle, I can tell that you are little Sammy's protector, I'm I right" Either Nancy is a wise woman or because I made it way to obvious from being to overprotective over Sam.

"Yes, you are correct." I let out a defeated sigh. I had been trying to hid it since the day I found out and it felt good knowing someone knew.

"Well than I'll be back with little Sammy, and his stuff."

"Wait why?"I questioned.

"Belle, don't be ridiculous. I know for a fact that you will go bonkers without the little guy." she smiled at me while saying that. I smiled back. "Oh I almost forgot, I found this note on her bed."

She walked away after that.

I looked down at the small paper, and began to unfold it, than read it.

Dear Belle,

I see the way you look at Sammy and my heart pains with joy knowing that someone besides me cares about him. I left knowing that you will do your job right and protect Sammy no matter what. But just remember, protect your peace.

Love, Jane
