Introduction

Have you ever heard your name, but when you turned around there was no one there? I was told I was crazy. I was put into a mental facility by my mom, the one person who I knew would always love me, but that was before she put her only child into a place where people scream. Where I scream out the single name. Max. Every night I closed my eyes I would dream of a boy who promised to help me escape. I held on to that promise even if it meant letting go of myself.

Chapter 1: Voices

My first night at the facility I screamed for two hours. The nurses came in and calmed me down, telling me I was ok. I knew I wasn't. I wanted to leave, I wanted to run away with the person in my dreams. My mom told them I have been through a lot and it was just stress, but we both knew the real reason. She was scared. Scared of me. The daughter who talked to the radio, the daughter who pushed her dad off a cliff in the cannon. I was told to do it. I knew it was right even if my mom said it wasn't. I was right, the voices told me so. Every night before bed the nurses gave me my pills and turned on the radio, the only connection I had to the real word. The only thing keeping me sane.

"Good night Katherine." The nurse smiled and closed my door. I heard all the radios turn on, and the nurse screamed. It was just static. The static calling my name over and over. Telling me what I needed to do. That night in my dreams Max told me it was time. Time to be free.

Chapter 2: Laughter

The next day the nurses came in with the doctor who looked very uncomfortable.

"Katheirne, we are concerned about you." I kept my eyes on the ground. They believed the radio guy was being funny, but if they only knew. Soon they would all be dead. I started to laugh uncontrollable and they started to back away from me, but that would do no good. The radio turned on and the voice started laughing too. They left my room leaving me and Max to our laughter.

I heard them talking to my mom. Telling her I was crazy and that I needed help. That night they came in with more medicine, more pills and more bodies. I took the radio off my dresser and when they came in, I hit them, all of them.
