He smiled and he replied “I love you”. Then he went downstairs. Before going he asked the receptionist about the cemetery where Maryjane was buried in. After that day, he went daily into the cemetery to drop a rose on Maryjane’s tomb.

5 years later

Unknown number: hello

Justin: Hello, who are you?

Unknown number: Are you Mr Justin Smith?

Justin: Yes it’s me, how may I help you?

Unknown number: I am the owner of “heavenly star hotel” and I will like to talk to you.

Justin got shocked because he didn’t expect that 5 years later, maryjane’s Father would ever contact him.

Justin: are you mr Harry, the father of Maryjane ?

Unknown number:- Right that’s me. On the day that you left, You discovered only a part of the story.

Justin: what do you mean?

Unknown number: Maryjane’s story didn’t ended right there. Before taking my last breath, I want to make it out of the blue. You are the only one who can help me.

Justin: okay! I will meet you at sharp 10, in the nearby cafe.

Unknown number: thank you.

Justin kept on being so curious about what was going on. Maryjane was no more, so what could be important at such point.

2 hours later   

  Justin and mr Harry sat down and they began the conversation.

Justin: hello Mr Harry, it’s nice to meet you.

Mr Harry:  thank you. Infact I am aware of what happened last time,when you came in my hotel. I was looking for you since this entire time,until I found out that you moved to Texas. As I am growing more old now, I believe that you are the only one who can give Kate the love that she needs after my death.

After an awkward silence

Justin: well !!! Who is Kate ? Infact Mr Harry, I don’t think I’m ready for a relationship. 

Mr Harry: oh lord, Kate is only 7 years old. 

Justin: Then how can she be related to this story? 

Mr Harry: If you want to find out, then you shall come at my house. 

Justin: but..... 

Mr Harry got up and then removed a card from his pocket. 

Mr Harry: Take this card, it has details of my address. I will wait for you. 

Justin: okay! Thank you. 

On the following day, Justin went to mr Harry’s house. He was fascinated by the huge house which looked like a Palace. When he got off from his car, he saw Mr Harry waiting for him near the Gateway. 

Mr Harry: Good morning young man. 

Justin: Good morning Mr Harry, well as I can see it’s not a house but a “mini chateau”

Mr Harry [smiling] : thank you! I’m glad that you accepted my invitation.

Justin: My pleasure.

Mr Harry: come let’s have a seat inside. 

Once after Justin went into the house and he took a seat, he noticed a little girl with curly blond hair and  wearing a red dress, standing behind the opposite door. She was peaking at him but she hid herself after Justin smiled at her. Due to curiosity he started talking to Mr Harry to find out about her.

Justin: who is this little girl? I think she got scared when I came here. 

My Harry: It’s Kate, my grandchild.

Justin: do you have other children as well? 

Mr Harry: No ... she is the daughter of Maryjane.

Justin: WHAT !!! 

Mr Harry: Maryjane..... 

Suddenly Mr Harry got interupt as his phone started to ring. 

Mr Harry: Excuse me It’s an urgent phone call.

Justin: sure but where is the washroom please? 

Mr Harry: on the left side of the corridor. 

Justin went straight into the washroom as he was feeling really nervous. He was still clueless about kate. While walking slowly to return back in the living room, he saw a portrait of Maryjane. She was holding a baby. He stood infront of the portrait and he got lost in his thoughts. Until he felt as if someone just pulled his hand.

Justin: oh little girl... you look like a little princess.

Kate: thank you. Who are you? 

Justin: I am justin and I won’t mind to be the friend of this little princess which is right here. 

Kate: Do you like dolls ? 

Justin: yes I do 

Kate: then come with me.

Justin: wait but first can you please tell me about this lady ? 

Kate: come with me then you will find out.

Justin okay! You are a mystery just like your grandpa. 

Kate [laughing] : I wont deny. 

Kate took Justin into her bedroom. 

Kate: Sit down and I will show my dolls.

Justin: alright. 

Kate took her dolls from the shelf and she completely forgot about the question of Justin. He was also charmed by the smile of Kate, and he figured out that Kate was fond of dolls.

Justin: Little princess I promise that I will give you a big porcelain doll,but now please can you tell me about the lovely lady in the portrait ? 

Kate looked at him and she made a sad smile. She removed an album which was kept in a drawer. Justin opened it and he saw the pictures of Maryjane and a little baby. By the time he already understood that Kate was the daughter of Maryjane. Kate looked desperate and hold on her tears. 

Justin: Give me a hug

Kate came closer and hugged Justin. She laid her head on his shoulder.

Kate: i became an orphan when I was 2 years old and still I am. 

Justin: shhhh I’m here now. You don’t have to feel sad.

Kate cried until she fell asleep. Then Justin gently put her on bed and went back to the living room. Mr Harry was sitting with a sad impression on his face. 

Mr Harry: I’ve heard your conversation with Kate. I know I owe you an explanation.

Justin: Mr Harry ... how is it possible that the reality is completely different from the fact that I’ve heard since 5 years before? . I am very confused. 

Mr Harry: that wasn’t the complete truth behind Maryjane’s story. This was a set up so that nobody would ever find out the real reason. Kate was kept hidden from the world after maryjane’s death. 

Justin: why?

Mr Harry: Maryjane was not the biological mother of Kate. Kate’s mother named Jenny, was killed right after she was born. Jenny was my eldest daughter. She fell in love with a dangerous criminal who killed her because of her wealth. Jenny suffered a lot until her last breath. When she found out that the guy named John was just a traitor, she decided to leave him and also to confess about all his misdeed that she discovered from him. However after Kate was born, John killed her like a cold hearted person . Maryjane found out a diary of everything that Kate wrote into it. Right afterwards she wanted to expose John but it was impossible. She took Kate away from John and moved on here. After 2 years, John came back and killed Maryjane along with her fiancée on that night. It was never a suicidal case from her. Once after her fiancée got killed and she rushed to the hotel. she called me but it was too late because on the right moment, John strangle her to death. He wanted to know where Kate was, so that he could use her as a treasure. On the same night, I couldn’t keep hold of myself. I killed John and the other man and threw their corpse on the street. That’s how I got my revenge. 

Justin: what about the moment when I saw Maryjane’s spirit? Was this a trick of yours?

Mr Harry: No, instead it was something that was real because this rumour was spread everywhere. I used this story just to cover up the fact of the murder case. Else I am still clueless about it. 

Justin: when will you tell Kate about this?

Mr Harry: No we can’t do this because it’s really inappropriate and I don’t want her to feel more pain. As you loved Maryjane, can you do something to help her gain her salvation? 

Justin[wiping off his tears]: sure 

Mr Harry: I want you to look after Kate as if she is your own daughter. Maryjane always took care of her until her last breath, and now as it is time for my turn. I give you the responsibility to do everything. 

Justin: I will be honoured. 

Mr Harry: thank you son.

Mr Harry died in a few months later. Justin kept his words by upbringing Kate like his own daughter. He didn’t replaced Maryjane from his heart,neither from the life of Kate as her mother. Both of them lived happily ever after
