Chapter 1

I screech as the hot curling iron hits the base of my neck, once again. My friend Lily grumbles a soft 'sorry' under her breath and continues working. Tonight my friends want to get me out clubbing. Not my idea. I am the kind of person who would rather nestle up with a nice book, in my little one bedroom apartment with my Charles Spaniel, Aspen. Then party and get as high as a kite. Yeah, you can call me a nerd, party pooper, or lame, but I'm just me. I don't have a lot of friends but don't have any either.

I snap out of my gaze as my friends finish my hair. I get up, already feeling the numbness, from sitting on a chair for 2 and a half hours, in my but, and walk to my floor length mirror. The girl looking at me is someone I would sail away from if I was still 16, but I'm not I'm 18. Now I just appreciate her. My auburn hair cascades down my back in loose waves, my crystal blue eyes are enveloped by a smokey eye look, and my slender dark but thick body is was shimmed into a strapless black cocktail dress. Again, wasn't my idea. I swing around right as a pair of black heels come darting at me. I catch them and groan as my arms are dragged down to the carpet by the weight of them. I haul myself and the heels to my bed and strap them on.

We walk up to the club and I immediately see a large purple sign that reads, '182 Ave'. We walk up to the door and wait in the small but growing line. We soon get up to the bouncer. He had dark skin and blonde hair. "NAMES!" He yells which cause me to flinch. My friends laugh at my sudden jumping and Lily tells him our names. His eyes dart down the clip board now in his hands, nods his bulky head and unclips the velvet rope, letting is in.

I walk in and cringe at the booming music. Lily yells a loud 'Whoo!' And runs to the dance floor. Leaving me alone. I walk to the bar and take a seat spinning in the stool. A glass of a metallic cold liquid swooshing around inside with ice cubes and a piece of mint, lands in front of me. I jump, for the 4th time this night, and look up to see the bartender walking away. Ok? I bring the glass up to my nose and stuff it, quickly pulling back and shaking my head. Yikes! I look at the drink and take a small sip. Coughing as it slides down my throat. It's not that bad. I say to myself.

I quickly chug it down and stand up, suddenly feeling light headed. I sway for a bit and continue walking to the dance floor. House Party by Sam Hunt blasted threw the speakers as I start dancing to the music. I don't really dance, it may be the alcohol or maybe I'm coming out of my comfort zone? Oh well. This is fun!

2 hours later

The florescent purple lights blind my eyes ever so often as I walk around the club. I try not to choke but fail, at the trace of liquor and B.O. I sigh, and wander down a dark hallway, scanning for a place to rest my aching feet, from the black, '9' inch pumps, I have currently rested in my left hand. As I look down at my chipped red toenail polish, I run into a warm chest. I shriek and drop my heels with a harsh thud, as the man I ran into grasps my hands. He hauls me to my feet and I look him over. He looks to be 6'6, warm chocolate skin, and his eyes. Oh, don't get me started on his eyes, they are a rich gray. The gray a sky would be before a storm hits. I shake my head, clear my throat, and extract my hands from his. I utter a quick 'thank you,' and grasp my pumps off of the grimy floor and turn away.

I don't get so far until the man grabs my waist and pulls me into his chest. I yelp as I feel sparks fly threw my chest and a desire to stay in this mans arms intensifies. I look up and stare into his grey eyes coming closer and closer to my face until I feel his lips on top of mine and I close my eyes.

I then feel hot hands on my arms pulling me away from his soft lips. He lets out a growl and pulled me to his chest. I turned my head and saw Lily throwing daggers at the man. "Aiyana, you can't just go around and kiss strangers!" She hisses and pulls me away from the mans warm arms. He growl and his eyes change into a dark green. My sister Aura comes over and drags me away. The man is growling like crazy. He turns around and runs out of the club in in-human time.

•-•-Back at Home-•-•

"Aiyana, as your guardian I have to protect you! And if that means taking you away from him then I will!" She yells again. I am ignoring her; my back is facing her and Aspen in my lap. She huffs in annoy and soon my door is slammed. I'll probably get a noise complete tomorrow, but suck it. I sigh and turn around in my bed and let out a shriek. The grey eyed man is standing in my bedroom. He walks up to me and grabs my arms pulling me up into his chest. He sniffs my hair then backs up. He jumps into the air and a big grey wolf lands in his place. Shaking out its fur it looks up at me, with the same grey eyes HE had. What. The. Hell. Was the last thing I said before I passed out.
